"Cheap" hardware and DayZ don't go together very well right now, unfortunately. I sympathize with your desire to get better performance without paying an arm and a leg, but it just isn't possible yet. -
Personally, I don't edit any of my shots. Mostly because I've never learned how :p I plan to soon, though. As for the in-game postprocessing setting, mine is usually disabled. The blur gives me a headache after a while :( More shots from my new PC. I'm in love!

Love it! Just like in real life, I think sitting around a fire and sharing a meal is the quintessential way to socialize in DayZ.

Agreed, large groups become more trouble than they're worth. They become unstable very quickly, and much of your time is lost on trying to maintain cohesion... which then begins to defeat the point of playing a game in the first place, which is to have fun. -
No worries! Those protector cases are still yours if you want them. You guys are doing the looking for me and saving me time, so I have no problem paying it forward :)

The original post of this thread actually had some potential for discussion. Too bad this thread, like all others before it, will likely devolve into a flame war between people who feel really strongly one way or the other. I play both. I like both. Can't we all get along? :P

Don't question my resourcefulness. You have no idea. You're still ignoring the part where it has multiple uses, too. Don't bash me because I'm more efficient than you.

First off, the more you can tell us the better. For example "i7" doesn't tell us which i7, only that it's one of many of that model, and they've been around for a while so the range of performance is quite large. This is probably going to get moved, but I'll say this: at this stage in the game, even good hardware will struggle to play DayZ well.

Precisely. Sometimes it does okay, and other times you're left with literally 4% of your can of food. The improvised knife is a consistent 95-100% of your food plus it can be used for a multitude of other things. It's worth the measly 1 slot it occupies in your inventory, and an axe is NOT an acceptable substitute in my opinion. There is really no reason not to carry one when they can be made for free in less than a minute.

There's a huge difference between a valid complaint and whining. Also, even valid complaints aren't necessarily useful or worth posting if it's a topic that's been beaten to death like this one. All the OP had to do was search.

They also changed the skeletons and skins of many of the animals as well, I believe. The chicken in particular looks quite a bit better than what we have now (i.e. separate wings that actually move).
