That's okay, he doesn't know what he's talking about either ;)

That's how I see it. Seriously. Anyone participating in the Early Access Alpha for genuine reasons is doing so because they want to enjoy the game while it is in development and so that they can have a full understanding of the game upon its debut to the general public.

Go read this first before you do anything else: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/221393-054-hotfix-plans/

40 test machines really isn't that many compared to the 3,000,000+ copies of the game they've sold. I guess the scale of that is lost on you. I played with two friends last night for about 3 hours and they never crashed or lost anything even once, yet I crashed probably 5 or 6 times in the same period of time (losing my character twice) and I have a much beefier PC than either of them. Things happen, and you can't catch everything on a small test group of machines. Welcome to DayZ. Would you like a tissue for your tears?

Agreed. I'm being affected by this update a lot more than my friends are, but even I'm willing to see this through to a fix rather than rolling back.

It's that time again :) First up, Black Lake:
-
Right, not a huge change. They basically just made it "prettier" with the addition of new plants and rocks and that kind of thing. I hadn't spent a ton of time there before, so I can't speak accurately about whether or not any buildings were added/removed/changed.

The village of Bor got a comprehensive but subtle set of updates to make it prettier:
-
Good plan, and it's a good look too. I dress very, very similarly to you Odin ;) It's all about earthy colors for stealth and low-key (mostly civilian, but not all) clothing and equipment so I don't feel so bad when something inevitably gets lost or ruined. No need for a ghillie suit when I can lie down in the grass and blend right in, right? :)

It's an okay idea, I just don't see it being worth the trouble to add it to the game. It wouldn't really add any value to the current pool of weapons. If you want to take down groups of zombies, the .357 is already available with plentiful ammo. If it's hunting you're looking to do, the Longhorn is the best tool for the job and uses an even more ideal round than the .44.

A cold, dreary night in "Kambiwobo"? ;)

Thanks! If you ever need any help, let me know. I'd love to run around and do interviews with you B) I'm sure the results would be hilarious.

My own shots of Devil's Castle:
-
The whole face of the mountain has changed. Where it was sort of white-colored (like snow) with a few rocks here and there, it's now a true rock face with a flat top at the peak and a trail leading up to it. Visiting Devil's Castle tonight :)
-
No problem! Hoping to add Devil's Castle to the list tonight.

I haven't yet crafted any clothing, but I've done just about everything else at least once. The stone knife and hunting gear are particularly useful. Maybe I'm not in the majority, but I do trap rabbits from time to time, mostly for fun. Haven't done much fish trapping since it was implemented, but I keep meaning to.

There's a big enough area the top for a civilian tent and a nice campfire :) Be careful though, it's a looooong way down if you walk off the edge...
-
Interesting thoughts on the military camps. Hmm :) You really should go visit all of these places! Black Lake in particular is gorgeous now, and the peak of Pik Kozlova is a great place to set up a camp.
-
Thanks! I know it sounds crazy, but there is still so much room for improvement. Threads like these are just meant to show things off to the community, but my perfectionism sees only flaws to be corrected. That's good though, because I'll just get better and better :) Appreciate the kind words, sir.

Ahh crap. Didn't even think to look :/ I logged at the top of the mountain, so if that character still exists tonight I'll have a look. Black Lake has been turned into a sort of tourist destination now. Previously it was just a big lake and little else, but now there's an entrance area with a log cabin, picnic tables in a few places, overturned boats, etc. It's very nice, and incredibly quiet.

We've got to have a way to clear those piles of dead infected, right? ;)
