1) Not necessarily. That's just the server time, and servers can be on any kind of schedule their owner wants. 9:00 is a common start time for a cycle however (cycle being the length of time between server restarts). In general, cycles begin on an even time and end on an even time, so if a server says "9:01" then you know you've probably got at least 59 minutes before that server resets. 2) Yes. Some people find fun in hopping between public servers and gearing up that way. 3) Use the scroll wheel on your mouse. That particular input is how you control the action menu when multiple actions are possible in a given situation. When you walk up to a truck, scroll your mouse wheel up and down without clicking or typing the "F" key and you'll see the available actions pop up, even if there is only one option available. When you're sitting inside the truck for example, you should be able to: open/close the door, turn the engine on/off, get out (if the door is open), turn the lights on/off, etc. Highlight the option you want and type the "F" key. You will find the scroll wheel useful in other situations as well, such as when you are interacting with a water pump using a container (canteen, water bottle).

Performance isn't too bad, but I also have a monster PC :) I get ~25 FPS at the worst, and that's running through the apartments near Chernogorsk. Almost everywhere else is much higher than that, and wide open areas in particular have great framerates.

This? http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Military_Convoy_(Krasnoe) Totally worth the trek if you need some military-grade clothing. -
What is the nicest thing you have done in DayZ

I left two V3S trucks in Elektro for fresh spawns to use this evening  -
PSA: How to bump an overturned V3S into an upright position.

Thanks for posting this. I've tried in certain situations to make this happen, but if the truck is totally on its side it sometimes won't work. Would be nice if we could find a way to do it without a second truck, huh? ;) -
The crashes are gone on today's build of 0.54 Experimental. Yay! :)

Not totally true. I'm not calling you a liar, but I expect the same in return when I tell you this: I didn't get stuck. I explored everyone of those enterable bunkers when they were first added and was able to escape each time. The one you're referring to required me to walk up the "slope" behind the ladder in order to go up high enough to get the "climb" action indicator. Activating a ladder (getting the option to climb it) is pretty buggy, so all I had to do was move around a bit and eventually it gave me that option. I went in fully prepared to find a way for my character to die, but I didn't have to :) -
Fantastic job with the editing! :) I especially like this campfire one. That's the result of someone driving one there underwater ;)

To anyone who doesn't know, this is the area the OP is talking about: http://dayz.gamepedia.com/Military_Base_(Kamensk) -
This game is being looked to as an example. We are all taking part in a grander experiment than simply the development of DayZ Standalone. This wasn't the first and won't be the last Early Access game, but it's one of the most high-profile examples and I think other developers are going to take a good look at both the finished product and the development process of this game before determining if it's worth it for themselves. I love every second I play of this game, buggy or not, but most people aren't truly willing to take the plunge and fully participate the way that some of us are. When I say that, I mean coming into this process educated about how it is going to work, what to expect, keeping up with patch notes, etc. In other words, more than just handing over my money and playing it as though it's a finished game (like 90% of the community it seems). Ultimately, I think this will turn out to be the exception, not the norm. I feel most developers will look at the process of developing DayZ and say, "Nope, not me. I don't want to deal with that." This makes me all the more grateful for the DayZ development team sharing this process with those of us who have taken the time to understand it and participate in it with enthusiasm.

There's a lot of misunderstanding in this thread. I will attest that *something* got bugged with 0.54 and it's affecting every character a little differently (or not at all). I've had different experiences day-to-day on this version even on the same character on the same branch. Those of you having issues? You're not alone. Those of you not having issues? Don't assume that just because you aren't having issues that no one else is either, or that they are simply whining. I'm not here to whine, I'm just informing you that it's a bug that is not universally affecting everyone (same as the crashing issue). EDIT: I do want to point out that some people affected by this issue are, in fact, whining. There's a difference between pointing out a legitimate issue -- and having a discussion about it -- and straight-up whining about it.

I can appreciate that. "Tough love", if you will. I'm the same way with my friends and family in real life: I don't bullshit around, I get to the point, because I genuinely want to help them improve themselves or the situation they are in... if I tip-toe around the issue or try too hard not to hurt anyone's feelings, I'll never see any progress made.

Celebrating the old cities:

My favorite place for hunting is the valley below Kozlovka. There are a few small settlements in that valley if you need a place to rest, and deer and boar roam that area pretty consistently. There may be other places to get one more easily, but I promise that you'll most enjoy the process if you hunt in this valley. Great place to trap rabbits as well, and the ponds on the western edge past the treeline are good places to fish. http://www.izurvive.com/chernarusplussatmap.html#c=-67;-61;5

Well, the threads that result from me documenting all of these billboards will be full of useless shit as well ;)

Not sure how I missed this... Yes, I do have that one though, thank you sir :) Still need 4 more! I'm going to head to Elektro to check out "Woman With Frying Pan", but the other three I don't have definitive locations for yet. Signs I still need to find: -Recruitment Ad -Alkohol?! -Kids With Ice Cream I actually did find Kids With Ice Cream in Svetlojarsk, but it's on the side of a building that practically never faces the sun so it's in the shade and harder to see :(

Two people one same network cannot join same private shard at same time?
Tatanko replied to Landcaster's topic in Troubleshooting
Yeah, that's even weirder. In your case, it sounds like a host issue (Fragnet). -

I get this issue from time to time on public servers as well. I play with friends of mine at their houses all the time, and occasionally that's an issue. When it does become an issue, it seems to be all servers... not just one specifically (or we would just join a different one). The first person can always get in just fine, but never more than that one person; if that person disconnects, the other one is able to join immediately without issue. -
Good depth of field! I see you found the wee village of Tisy B)
-
Eh, I play 3rd person a lot of the time myself. BUT, I think it's entirely reasonable to create that restriction for third person view because that seems fair.
-
...and non-functional in 3rd person view, if we're going for accuracy.
-
I would settle for them reopening the one in Kamensk. The event we held there on the Colony server was great! :) Correct me if I'm wrong Weyland, but I believe Senchi has hinted that it may be open again in the future. I think his biggest gripe was that it wasn't up to his own high standards, and a lot of that had to do with the rocks... which just got overhauled.

Has player speed been slowed down to realistic levels now?
Tatanko replied to MagneticToast's topic in General Discussion
I don't see why this would be a reason to stop playing the game. Care to explain your motive?
