Very nice! I have a camp of my own set up on a private shard that I can't post pictures of just yet (you'll see why), but this has it beat in a few areas. I also had more than a little help getting it established from other forum members ;) Are you sharing this with anyone?

Leaked files are a touchy subject, but I will say this: potato "seeds" in packet form are already in but not yet implemented. Whether or not the current state of things is intended, packets would be one way of providing potatoes as a horticulture option without being able to find potatoes in the process of looting. I like your idea, by the way! :)

You didn't encounter any ill effects from eating the rotten-looking fruit/vegetables? I did notice that they do not say "rotten" right in the name, but still definitely did not appear to be normal. I thought it wasn't possible to recover seeds on 0.55?

Mookie, I respect your opinion and you're typically someone who makes well-thought-out posts. For that, I thank you. In this instance, I must respectfully disagree. Every so often a patch comes along that stirs up a lot of outrage among a vocal minority of the community, and every single time it is taken as the "beginning of the end" for the playerbase, but that still hasn't happened yet (quite the opposite). If and when it happens, it would take a lot more than this ;)

You know what's really, really dumb? Complaining about a work-in-progress not being what you want it to be like a screaming child.

If you haven't played the game in a week's time, you've almost certainly played less than 10 hours of 0.55. That's hardly enough time to create an informed, valid opinion about it. I've got closer to 50 hours into it myself, and I think it's the opposite of boring. Nail on the head.

Doing all that running is wasting resources too, you're just wasting calories and water instead of bullets. I'm perfectly capable of being stealthy, but it's not the most time-effective option at my disposal, and is often annoyingly difficult in areas with a high density of them. I employ a one-shot-one-kill philosophy, so I'm not exactly being wasteful with my ammo.

Haven't worked out what process we would like to use just yet. More than likely, anyone interested will have to get it from me directly the day-of the event. The nice thing is, you have two other servers on which you can establish a character prior to the event. When you join the event server at the time of the event, it will feel more like stepping into a private "room" of sorts. At least, that's what we're hoping for. We've already invested many hours into prepping both supplies and security for the event. We won't disappoint :)

It is pretty tough to find, and I kind of like that it has become a commodity. You're basically forced to shoot zombies, and they are infinite in number when you consider server restarts, so with a finite number of bullets you have to really choose your battles wisely.

Looks like today's re-balancing of certain item spawns should help out our efforts towards getting ready for the party (especially flares!). Anyone want to recommend some activities for Black Lake? :)

I would think Wookies would be particularly adept at survival, actually! Have you ever seen their homewold of Kashyyyk?

I hate to say it, but it might be a weird issue specific to 0.55 or something. Every patch seems to affect everyone a little differently, so you might have to tough it out until 0.56 :(

While playing the game, hold the SHIFT key and press the negative/hyphen key on the numpad of your keyboard. Then let go of the shift key and type the word "flush". This will clear out your cache, or at least it is supposed to. I haven't personally done it in a while (haven't needed to) so I'm not sure if it is still working properly as of 0.55. It's technically an old Arma command.

For starters, don't bother with launch parameters. None of the legacy ones you've mentioned above even do anything anymore, as I understand it. As for fixing your problem: sounds like you could use some maintenance, both of your PC and the game. Validate your files, clear your cache, all that good stuff. Give that a try before you go changing anything. EDIT: Your hardware definitely shouldn't be slowing you down, that's for sure. I have a powerful PC as well, and it experienced no such slow down with the update to 0.55. I have seen a few of my friends of mine struggle with it though (and past updates), and usually the best course of action is to do the maintenance that I mentioned above.

Bring what you can. That's basically all I can say with how random loot is right now. Flares do seem to be pretty scarce, so that may have to be postponed (AGAIN!). We'll see. Definitely bring the lights! Like Dudester said, we had armbands at the BBQ. We will likely do something similar at this event, but you won't know until the event :)

Do it! Those of us who play regularly and aren't lazy as f*ck are actually enjoying the challenge. If you're good at being stealthy and resourceful at finding necessary items, it's not even difficult.

Soooo, let me get this straight: you very stupidly spent a huge pile of money on a game that you were explicitly told not to purchase in the first place by the people developing it? I can think of better ways to waste money than that, but hey, it's not my money.
