Internal Milestone - Road to Beta

It's been a long road, and I think at least most of us are happy to have been along for the journey so far. Thanks for all your hard work, and the rest of the team, in continuing to push forward this vision. Cheers!

    Historical Data on Infected Population

...and minimum, and max/min of each specific thing, etc. etc. Agreed that even though it's an apples-to-oranges comparison, there is still some merit in looking at what's available if you're someone who's interested in the actual development of the game (versus simply getting enjoyment out of the end result of those efforts).

    Historical Data on Infected Population

Eugen would be the absolute best source of information for this, I believe. Perhaps there's some way @batyalquawen could get an answer to this?
  4. Hello survivors! I am embarking upon a project to record information and hopefully create a central support resource for DayZ players who utilize an out-of-the-ordinary setup for enjoying the game. I'm looking for things like high resolutions (2K, 4K, 8K), aspect ratios (4:3, 16:10, 21:9), multiple displays, macOS/Linux, VR, eye trackers, special configurations, and anything of that sort. Pictures of your unusual setup are also highly encouraged. My goals are: 1. Present users with out-of-the-box solutions for more "common" non-standard setups (i.e. 4K, Ultrawide, macOS). 2. Create tools and documentation to help users in configuring and troubleshooting less common setups. 3. Assist users with accessibility needs in finding acceptable alternative means to enjoy DayZ. 4. Indulge the curiosity of players looking to experience the game beyond a keyboard and mouse. 5. Determine what the DayZ experience is like at its absolute best and absolute worst, in terms of both performance and visual fidelity, and what hardware is necessary to reach those extremes. What I need to know is: 1. What kind of unusual setup do you have? 2. What are the components that make it unusual? 3. What are the benefits or reasons for using this setup? 4. How does it work? What special efforts were needed? 5. What does it cost? Where did you get it?

    Status Report - 24 January 2017

@Baty Alquawen Will we be seeing the final closed-off building become enterable as part of the railway update? Seems fitting since the last building is a small train station :)

    Steam Badges and Achievements

"Steam Community Integration" has been mentioned as part of several past road maps, and 2014's mentioned achievements specifically. The older that information gets however, it becomes less relevant and less useful as a gauge of development progress. That being said, I'll copy below what I said recently on Reddit about this particular topic:

I think there may be a section missing, Baty... I don't see the update from Mirek?

    0.61 Experimental: A V3S Adventure

Our journey begins just outside Gorka. A friend and I are on a mission to find a vehicle -- any vehicle -- to do our part and test this critical component of the 0.61 build currently on the Experimental branch. In 136887 (r: 23 Dec 2016), vehicles spawn complete and ready to drive; not necessarily scratch-free, but whole. This means that upon finding a vehicle, you are free to begin driving it right away so that the experience of driving can be evaluated and quantified. This is the type of feedback the development team is looking for right now. I happened upon a V3S Cargo truck to the west of town and met up with my friend who was approaching town from the east. I marvel at how well the truck's headlights work (and how well they look) in 0.61. Since the truck is a very noisy vehicle, it's only natural that I attract the attention of some infected. Driving through Gorka, I eventually collect about a dozen even just sticking to the main road. I was impressed with the headlights, but I also take a moment to appreciate how pretty the gauges in the truck look at night. We head north and make the long, winding trip through the expanse of the middle-north. Apple trees dot the road along this path, and I have several opportunities to crack 60 km/h in this lumbering elephant. About halfway to Severograd, we happen upon another truck parked in the road with its lights on. We never did see another player, but we had the odd feeling we were being watched so we didn't stick around for too long. Eventually we reach Gvozdno, and we decide to make a turn to the west to see how far we can make it before we both need to log off for the night. Note the severe weather warning in the lower-left corner of the screen :p The northern highway is empty on this night, at least while we pass through it anyway. It's oddly calming, but we're still on our toes. The truck has been a nice, quiet ride so far. Passing through Topolniki now. My friend remarks that it feels as through we just missed... something... but he can't quite put his finger on what. I agree. I love what this game does to your head. Making our way north from the area around Sinistok. The new shadows in 0.61 do an excellent job of leaving you to wonder what might be lying behind those stone walls where your headlights don't shine... The first of many littered vehicles on our way to the Tisy base. Some were complete and had obviously not been touched, and others had very clearly met an unfortunate fate at the hands of a careless driver. Finally, we arrive at the Tisy military base. I park at the front gate and take a seat to admire my accomplishment for a moment before logging out. Overall, the experience was primarily good. There were some hiccups when driving near other vehicles, but nothing that would have resulted in anyone's death or the killing of a vehicle either. When not near other vehicles, the ride was excellent the vehicle behaved predictably and without fault. I very much enjoyed my trip.

    Christmas in Chernarus 2016

Christmas in Chernarus 2016 Christmas has come once again to the fictional post-Soviet state of Chernarus. You will find 13 total trees in 12 different towns this year, with Berezino hogging all the fun and having two for itself. Take a tour and see how each town is celebrating the holidays this year. Please note, some of the previously reported coordinates are not entirely correct. For example, there is no tree in Novy Sobor, and trees can be found in unmarked towns such as Svetlojarsk and Vybor. Some trees have also been moved from their traditional spots due to map changes having occurred since last year. The coordinates below have been verified. 1440p images can be found here. Enjoy! Berezino (North) Coordinates: 128 052 Berezino (South) Coordinates: 119 063 Chernogorsk Coordinates: 067 127 Elektrozavodsk Coordinates: 104 129 Gorka Coordinates: 094 065 Krasnostav Coordinates: 112 031 Novaya Petrovka Coordinates: 034 023 Novodmitrovsk Coordinates: 116 006 Severograd Coordinates: 078 027 Svetlojarsk Coordinates: 139 021 Tisy Military Base Coordinates: 016 011 Vybor Coordinates: 038 065 Zelenogorsk Coordinates: 027 100

    Happy Anniversary DayZ!

Here on the east coast of the US, it's still technically December 16th, 2016... and that means DayZ Standalone is three years old today! More specifically, it has been available to the public via Steam's Early Access program since December 13th, 2013. A big thank you to everyone that has been involved from the lowliest submitter of bugs to Dean himself. Keep up the good work everyone, and may 2017 bring you (and DayZ) all the best! :)

    Status Report 12/6/2016

More likely 0.62. Beta requires, for lack of a better way of putting it, that all of the major pieces of the puzzle be in place. That hasn't happened yet because we're still missing the new player controller / animation system that will be implemented next in 0.62. Brian has stated that replacing that component of the game engine will make it possible to implement many features which have been withheld because of technology constraints.

    Trading Post

Everyone who has attempted to help me with this has had exactly the same thing happen pretty much. The other day I hopped into a private hive server as a fresh spawn and found 3 of them in a single city :|

They are tagged for Civilian, Camping, Military_east, and Military_west, so theoretically just about anywhere. I feel like I see them more often in military areas right now, especially tents.

I'm looking to acquire as many Flare Gun rounds as I can get my hands on. Anything you've got, I'll take it. Let me know what, if anything, you'd like in return :)

Another odd request: I need a Trumpet. I have ammo, attachments, etc. I just need the gun itself. In several evenings of looting towns, I have somehow not come across one and need it for pictures.

Red Ensign had some stashed away for me that I picked up last night. Thanks for thinking of me! :)
