    Okay whos a dayz Jumper?

Lol I've only survived one fall that I simply shouldn't have. Most of the time my character is like "fuck I stubbed my toe, better get some morphine"
  2. Early today I was crawling in the brush and I saw someone about 200m out with their m4 out jogging up the mountain side towards my location. I dropped my dallas mask at an open clearing about about 50m away and dove into a nearby bush. When they crested the hill into the clearing they stopped with their weapon out and looked down at the mask. As soon as they did this I came over vicinity chat but didn't say a word - the song I played said enough. The person froze and looked around for a minute after which they promptly shouldered their rifle and booked it back downhill the way they came. I reclaimed my mask and laughed to myself, every time you see this mask I hope the song eerily creeps into your head and panic ensues. The game in this state is really what you make of it.

Why putting heart attacks in game makes no sense

You can't and never will be able to do as you stated above in game. A dead person is dead period. The defibrillator will be used to stabilize someone in game having a heart attack. Currently it is working the same was as an epipen because heart attacks haven't been implemented just yet. Once they are these tools will have different purposes I believe. From what I understand a heart attack in game can happen when your shock value increases over your blood value. The heart attack does not kill the person but it probably can and will be fatal without immediate external aid in the form of another player using a defibrillator on you, which is far different then resurrecting a dead player.

What a mess DayZ.. What a mess!

Private and low pop servers are pretty dull, all the magic happens with player interaction. A 40/40 server is generally much more entertaining than a 3/30 clan only. Can't help you make your own server though - sorry.

    Effective deterrent to KOS?

This was well said and I agree with this point. I've also noticed that many people will tend to disconnect after they die to go to a different server - low population I assume to regear. This means that regardless of how they died I usually see corpses despawning in 30s which usually isn't enough time for people to really pick through someone's gear unless you were in a very close proximity. We can talk about this like gentlemen - but I think its clear by now people are flaming and it would probably be best to just let the thread go.

    Battle for Solnichniy 20+ Players

I enjoyed watching all three videos, but it was kind of annoying to hear that one person who died immediately at the start trying to bark orders at you telling you to mow down the freshies in the second video. He didn't seem to understand that you were still alive for a very good reason and without being able to see your observations was intent that you just blow your concealment and CoD them. Had that been my squadmate I would have told him to stfu over the comm and only send useful information over the radio (though if I'm not mistaken during the third video one of your squadmates told him to shut up as he kept saying "get guns, go to warehouse we don't have time for this shit"). There was also a point where he told someone to give him their SKS so he could kill the little shits but he was the first one down and seemed to panic for the entire fight. You on the other hand kept a level head and always seemed one pace ahead of your enemies, very well done. I was a little disappointed to see/hear everyone just sprinting back for their bodies, seemed to make it more like a cookie cutter FPS where you just respawn with your gear, it also caused a ridiculous amount of excess radio chatter making it very confusing - if you're dead and gone stay out of the fight. As soon as the dead players started to run back it made it more chaotic and It took a rather long time to coordinate the whole naked fresh spawn thing, its a pretty easy way to distinguish friendlies... unless the enemy does the same thing. I remember seeing people use female characters for that specific purpose though since their underwear is an obvious pattern and very few people who play actually play/are females. You played well and I'm happy you survived the fight. I'd give you a few boxes of 762x39mm for your weapon if I could, sadly I can only give you my beans - hope they taste like victory. EDIT - I forgot to mention you had the intention to help fresh spawns but once shit hit the fan all bets were off and fresh spawns were getting gunned down with prejudice. DayZ can turn the kindest of hearts into one filled with blood lust and paranoia. Not knocking you for that, simply admiring what this game can do to people - this is what DayZ is all about. Human nature should be both admired and feared. Most animals have violent tendencies and adding intelligence into the mix only makes things more interesting and dangerous, even for those not involved.

    Dear combat loggers...

I apologize to the rest of the community before I start to devolve back to this poster's level and feed him Bambis don't combat log in the airfields, If you let a combat logger live after he started a fight because "oh hes logging out better not kill him" and that makes you feel self-righteous go ahead, I'm going to put a bullet in his head. You're trying to make someone rage by telling them they are raging when they aren't. Sorry you lose. I know you're trying to get the last word but you're not going to and its just going to eat you up inside.

    Is a backpack a necessary?

Absolutely not. -You don't need all those water sources - drop your bottle and canteen along with all the sodas - pumps and streams are everywhere -You don't need all those cans of extra food - once you're all fat and happy you'll stay that way for a long time -You don't need all those weapons - there are very few reasons to carry a sidearm that eats up space, most people use them much less than they think as soon as they have their primary -You don't need all those extra bullets and/or mags - For weapons with mags carry one in the weapon and another in your inventory to reload on the fly. For ammo keep 1-4 stacks depending on your accuracy, weapon type and how often you decide to fire on zombies (or randomly into the air like me) -You don't need all those medical supplies - a kit with some rags/bandages, and morphine is all you really need if you're solo. Keep a saline IV and/or compatible blood IV and an epipen if you're with others -You don't need all those other random items - extra batteries, compasses, hacksaws, hammers, screwdrivers etc. The only exception would be some items used for interaction but this depends heavily on your play style. If you are a KOS or a hero who never plans on detaining someone ditch the cuffs and keys. Not planning on chemical poisoning anyone? Drop the disinfectant. Not gonna kidnap someone and beat them senseless? Toss the burlap sack. People hoard in this game - its a survival mentality and given that we already have so much space but require so little to function we simply fill those spaces with items we try to justify to ourselves in our heads. Ditch the pack now and when you pick one up down the road when tools like gas stove, cooking pots, matches and logs are useful you'll be way ahead of 95% of the population who will continue to cram their packs full trying to tetris everything just so they can get all those extra beans, bullets and bandaids that they will die with before they ever even touching. Packs just make bandits richer. If you're going to use a pack, use it as bait. Fill it with all sorts of goodies and leave it somewhere. Eventually someone will come along and want to grab it or at least pick through it. Use people's greed to your advantage.

    Random Leg Breaks?

If anything morphine is overpowered. One slot, a five second injection and you're back to sprinting around all of Chernarus with you're numb as shit broken leg. Morphine doesn't heal bones in heal life obviously, it just dulls the pain by a ridiculous amount. After morphine you should have a half hour to an hour to craft and set your leg in a splint, if you don't you'll fall down all over again. Also it should make you run like a complete asshat - have you ever tried running with a completely numb leg - hilarity and additional injuries ensue.

    Dear combat loggers...

I know your type - no matter what anyone says you'll just give the same response over and over to get a rise out of someone, and in doing so you feel like you're some intelligent smart ass who is better then everyone else. I can do the same thing in the forms of "umadbro?" "do you even lift?" or perhaps I'll use yours yet again. Stop combat logging and coming here to defend them - its obvious you are one.

    Option to perform CPR

Fixed CPR generally consists of 20-30 chest compressions and two breaths per minute. The goal is not to restart the heart, it is to manually pump oxygen rich blood to the heart and brain to prevent things like brain death and tissue destruction. Essentially you're working as their heart with chest compressions and their lungs with your breaths. Some programs such as Combat Life Saver no longer teach giving breaths as the concept is oxygen is already still in their lungs and blood, you just need to keep it circulating.

    Dear combat loggers...

The age/maturity of the player performing a combat log is completely irrelevant. A player picks a fight and starts to lose so in a panic they run away and combat log. Are you suggesting we just let that player go because "hey its probably just some clueless kid". Don't come here looking to start a war, your response and poor grammar makes you seem like you are one of these "retard 12yo charwipe bug crybaby CLUELESS kids" you are referring to and that alone gives more than enough ammunition for the napalm cannon you're provoking.

    I didn't mean to KOS...

There are only two reasons people go to airfields and military bases. 1. To kill people 2. To gear up to kill people Don't bring that "oh I'm not a killer I don't KOS" BS here - KOS isn't the only form of killing - gearing to survive another player's attack to kill them in self defense is still - you guessed it - killing
  21. No, we don't need the artificial nonsense of skill levels and trees in this game. Player skill is the only thing that is required to be developed - anything else deviating from this path would be a step in the wrong direction and at the first sign of this a large chunk of the player base would up and leave. I want my field stash.
  22. Pretty black and white list - no one falls into one single category except those who are completely new to the game. I bring creative banditry to the game in forms of russian roulette bloodbags, inane ramblings over vicinity chat during a hold up, rewards to those who cooperate with my strip search and lunatic behaviors such as freaking out during a hold up and emptying a 762 internal mag at the "ghosts" my schizophrenic character sees. If you ever kill me or find my body be sure to read the notes I leave in protector cases, they will give you a glimpse into my character's mind.

    Dear combat loggers...

You chase someone into a building and he has the 2nd floor, you can't take him on without great risk since he has an advantage. You try to play cat and mouse, eventually holding your breath as you push forward and discover..... he logged. You do a quick sweep, of the floor to make sure hes not anywhere else, he logs back in with no penalty and double-bucks you in the back of the head. For every few minutes you are inconvenienced by this feature, several people are being saved from the combat logging/ghosting issue that was rampant just a month or so ago.

    Dear combat loggers...

You don't smell the potential for abuse there? A group of bandits handcuff you, toss a burlap sack over your head and proceed to beat you within an inch of your life but don't knock you out or kill you. This carries on for hours - at first it was a thrilling experience, now you're just bored and want to play, but you can't respawn because you're not dead and you can't log out because you're in combat or the vicinity of another player. Alt+F4 your way back to the game. As much as I hate combat logging nothing will ever stop someone from hitting Alt+F4 and just saying fuck it. Besides, who cares if they combat log since they sit there for 30seconds like an asshat begging to be killed (and often are) as they are defenseless. I say let them keep combat logging thinking its going to save them - it just makes it so more of the gear I take in 10-15seconds I have to loot the body is in better condition anyway since I drop a 762 in their grape at point blank range. I have only failed at killing two combat loggers out of the forty or so that I've met, keep the system in place and let them think they're safe. Makes me smile just knowing I sent them back to the coast where some other more desperate bandits are picking on bambis.

    Make DayZ more intense/more thoughtful

Scarce ammo wont reduce KOS in the slightest - It will just make them have to take a little bit more time to prep a firearm and encourages more brutal methods like beating people over the head with a wrench or lacerating their arteries with a hacksaw. I can tell you one thing, If I have to spend an hour scavenging an entire town for three rounds the only place they are going is into another player, and I'd happily spend another hour of my time scavenging up three more rounds to do the same thing while employing more gruesome tactics in the meantime. And please stop acting like KOS is something that needs fixing or is a problem. KOS is a result of being given the freedom and tools to do as one sees fit, and what you are asking is to limit the freedom given to players. Just because many do not like KOS does not mean it isn't an integral part of the game. The thought of getting KOS as your sneaking around the corner or observing another player from a distance unsure of their intentions and having an internal moral dilemma about if you should approach or not is what instills paranoia and makes this game really shine.
