    Fog

    Quite important for a survival (but zombie aswell) game, I wonder if DayZ will inherit from that ArmA 3 feature. Just imagine dusk/dawn or night -since more favourable time to happen whenever if rainy or not- where fog would cover Chernarus from costal (blue) up to further inland (green). Seeing only furtive silhouettes or just hearing zombies around, I bet it would be spooky and stressful. :)

    Yes, don't worry there are plenty heights fog couldn't reach (if the one from ArmA3), and on the other hand I think fog would hold few hours per day - not 24h/24. Actually it would even help FPS, because of the "occlusion culling" improvment.

    Yes engine doesn't allow that, the video is a kind of script that constantly teleport "passenger" on helicopter (check bugs at 01:11). Impossible to to run a such stressfull script on server, and would be worst with massive multiplayer + lag. It's a shame indeed :(

    No. - Being surrounded is not an issue but part of gameplay. - Every houses (except buildings) have multiple entry/exit points. If just because of buildings, it would better suggest to add a backdoor (much easier to make). - If you can get out through windows, there is no reason you could not get in too. - It would affect zombie futur pathfinding fix (stop them to go trough walls, but allow them to go through windows).

    The psychological effect that lead someone to consider a bunch of pixels as someone else is empathy. To induce empathy require communication : Human voice + dialog. * Most players consider frag as rewarding. Big game hunting, no chat with prey. - Nothing else thrilling to do (lack of content). - PvP more challenging than PvE (zombie weak AI/hazardousness). - Because of fear ("better to kill than been killed"). * No communication way available or encouraging. - Software such TeamSpeak,Mumble keep users secluded among them. - Walkie Talkie are useless for that purpose (need fundamental changes). - Hand signals do not serve that purpose (e.i. "come here" , "go away" , would have been better choice).

    What is the point if you could open a locked door anyway? No matter how : gun,axe,kick. It would require a lot of work (damaged/undamaged every door mesh models, animation, coding), much more than only add a sound! And finally I guess it will be boring after a while... If it's only to complicate everybody's life to break in, well on this basis we could also suggest to remove "Eat all" feature (same effects : multiple action & waste few seconds, for same result). Locked doors should not be defined randomly by server, but intentionaly and very specific (and so breaching them) by player. This belong to barricading futur feature.

    Maybe not quite related with OP, but I would love when crouching and hitting "sprint" key to automatically stand up to sprint, and once halted to return to crouch position.

    If I was devs I would only use a single sound effect for that purpose, not because I'm lazzy but because of performance (each file have to be (pre)loaded somewhere). A trick could be to clone its class and pitch up +10% or +20% that sound (it's just a line code to add, but same unique source file).

    Decrease head amplitude movement is indeed a good idea, better than letter box view I would say.

    I'm not against the idea to add realist penalty for motorcycle helmet, but as I wrote view+action (it means view AND action) restrictions would be a bit too much... And if I'd to choose between view OR action restriction I would rather choose action restriction -not because it's from me- but because it's beyond eyecandy effect, easy to (only) code, while view restriction might have issues : Our field of view is already limited by monitor, your ms paint examples would somehow fit with a such helmet Decent vision is part of road safety. Ingame motorcycle helmet model would not suffer a such wide limitation IRL (try it). Also it would look strange on 3pp view, make feel you don't wear it but your camera does. If adding a such view restriction, it would be fair to do so with face mask, ballistic/work helmet, cowboy hat...lot of work.

    03 April 2014 0.44 experimental (stream seen on Twitch) >> http://www.twitch.tv/kaitlovesgames/b/516487830 02:00:00 spawn extra weapons (suspicion). 02:06:25 could detect player beyond range and/or behind object? 02:07:40 full automatic pistol (no reload?). 02:11:00 teleport on roof. 02:12:00 gatling shotgun! 02:15:10 glitch inside mesh, inflict ghost damage (epic threat : "show me your boobs or I kill you") 02:20:00 teleport near player. Yes it is just happened on 0.44 experimental branch! So hack could still work on stable once released. >:(

    Perhaps they're trying something about it on 0.44 exp (invisible=not rendered?) Could someone check if cities still have FPS drop, or if interiors have weird goods/furnitures?
