it is - I have fast forward bound to double w (works crouched and standing) and turbo bound to left shift (also works crouched and standing) so sometimes I use two keys to sprint and sometimes I use a toothpick jammed into the keyboard while I go get coffee (try that with 2 keys).

a little more detail 1. it wont lead to a broken leg/arm but it is annoying, not sure about pain killers but morphine or a splint work great - sticks can also be found on the forest floor by looking at the ground and selecting search for kindling (pretty sure that's what it says) or you can chop a bush (not tree) with an axe and get sticks (kindling). rags can be made by tearing your shirt (or most any shirt) into rags. 2. the why is already answered - saline bag with an IV kit is better for restoring blood (halfway) as you don't need to know blood type but the blood bag and saline require another person to assist. the best option if you are alone is eat and drink till stuffed (I will usually take it into the orange but be careful as you don't want to vomit - that will have you starting over) best way to keep the three green statuses is to eat and drink everything you find when you find it (excluding rotten fruit n veggies of course). 3. when you load the mosin, once you drag the ammo to the mosin you should get the option to "load ammo" or "chamber round", you want to select "load ammo". if you have a round chambered you cannot load ammo until that one round is ejected. each time you want to load the mosin you must remove any remaining rounds to reload (annoying but that's just how it is right now) I just fire till its empty and then reload. 4. as far as I can tell the only difference with the military locations is size and location - they all seem to have pretty much the same loots and dangers. NWAF is the largest and Balota is the second largest, both of these locations have a little "tent city" nearby that will contain a fair amount of ammo, attachments, weps and clothing. as to locations - they are spread all over the map so you can either go exploring until you find them or you can access a web based map to reveal all those locations to you - if that kind of metagaming is fine with you, I am sure someone here can link an outside map for you. guns can be found in a lot different types of locations so just keep checking. 5. I find mosin ammo everywhere but the tents seem to have more than their fair share lately, check the shelves in the little supermarkets, it also spawns in police stations, schools, and the piano house (kinda grey 2 storey with green balconies - known for the bloody piano on the first floor). 6. no agro on the zed? run like a mofo. agro on the zed but no weapon? run like a mofo. no agro on the zed but you have an axe? sneaky up behind and whack the mofo. agro on the zed but you have an axe? dance with the mofo (see instructions in the post above) till its dead. if you shoot them, they will come... hope this helps and let us know if you want a link to an outside map.

I rarely interact with people as it almost always ends in gunfire and if you are busy trusting strangers in the game you dayz are numbered. even if I take the time to help someone I never let them get close to me and always back away from anything I have dropped on the ground for them and if they don't go on about their business I will kill them and take my shit back. if I don't know you outside the game already there is no way on god's earth I am trusting you. that said, you and I are on a good start - I would trust you over some stranger I just happen across in the game.

I am so gonna have to argue that one. it would seem to me that dayz social interactions are NOT about trust but more about how much you can do and still get away alive, be it good stuff or bad stuff. sometimes trust is simulated in these encounters but unless you know the person only a fool trusts another in dayz.

an unfinished alpha product that is likely to have many descriptions before it is finished. ask again in a year and half.

first off, none of us bought a "game", we bought the right to assist in the alpha testing stage of this new product by Bohemia Interactive with the understanding that we will own a full copy of the game once its released. BI is making the game not the community, the community provides feedback (yes I know feedback can sometimes be negative but it should never be harassing as in nothing but complaints unless the product is complete shit in which case I am sure none of us would be here) and offers suggestions in a constructive manner. all you have offered is bitching and all you are entitled to is the finished product when it releases, no more no less. that fact that you even suggest that something shady is going on over at BI is just a little insulting to the devs and their company and I find it completely unreasonable. and lastly, this is not the fucking MOD

while I am hesitant to advise that you just shoot first - you should just shoot first. I was rather humorlessly camped the other day by a fresh spawn that was apparently just to lazy to go loot I was in a little shed in berezino and he was just outside next to the shed waiting for me, his fists clipped thru the wall showing me where he was so I opened up on him with the mosin then hunted him down with my axe and lemme tell you I was cussing the little lazy prick the whole time in direct. he got one good punch in and I went out, when I came to a couple of seconds later I found him dead next to me. that was the last straw. now I don't care who you are or what you are carrying or saying, stay the hell away from me or I will shoot you where you stand and sometimes now I will just shoot you because I see you. I am a happy person on experimental and tend to give all my shit away and start over frequently but on stable I tend to brood over my phat lootz with a hefty heater close at hand, an itchy trigger finger, and a really bad attitude. I was like you once, and sometimes I will talk but lately I just let the mosin do all the talkin.

you should have kept em in your pocket. first off, this isn't the mod, you want to play the mod go help yourself. secondly, it REALLY is in alpha (get over it or go play something else). thirdly, like you have already been told, the artists are not the programmers, HUGE difference and in reality even a coder can toss up a wireframe every now and then (as in your example). fourthly, its only been in alpha for 8 months when we were told at the very beginning it would take a year at least to get to beta so patience is mandatory at this stage. if all you have are demands and complaints then you have nothing and personally I find it more than a little rude to be bitching about someone else's hard work when they aren't even finished with it.

it would appear that you have requested help for dayz mod in the dayz standalone troubleshooting section. perhaps if you make a new thread in the dayz mod troubleshooting section you might get a faster response. the mod sections are below the standalone sections from the index page.

fun fun... I love finding mystery lights in the dark :) I usually just avoid the buildings they are in however. nothing screams "I'm gonna kill you!" better than strange lights in obvious places :p still I can't resist approaching close enough to see - the new lights are just too pretty

Woot! DayZ in Dixie would rock just so ya know. I have noticed that the sky seems more overcast than sunny lately and that tends to kind of grey things out a bit. seems like I recall someone from the dev team mentioning that there might be a radioactive zone somewhere on the map so maybe they are just getting us used to the atmosphere before its implementation.

umm I would have to think the grey tone would be your lack of health in the game as my color is amazing until I loose a crap ton o blood. as for the rusted cars - take a hammer to the paint job on your car if you live near the sea and tell me how long it takes to rust up, I would imagine all the cars in better shape left the area with their occupants when the SHTF. the American map is in H1Z1 (at least on a map in America no one could bitch about the guns). all in all it would be nice to have an "official" statement about how long its been.

no I said the 91/30 with the bent bolt handle (the actual sniper variant) was rare and expensive back in the days when I first bought a mosin. I bought the model 1891 which was common as dirt and I paid 75 bucks for it. the ammo was expensive as fuck in those days however. sometimes I forget that I started shooting long before most of the people here were even born. a lot has changed over the years. rest easy my friend - I am a she. but that's all in my profile, I see no reason to hide the fact that I am an old lady that plays video games.

I no longer own the mosin :( my mosin days happened just a few months after the fall of the soviet union so while the model 1891 was quite common the ammo was still fairly scarce (no one had imported all that cheap wolf ammo yet) so I either had to arm it with reloads from the gun shows or spend a fortune on Norma rounds at just over 2 bucks a pop (yes each cartridge) and the reloads were a bit unpredictable so after a bag of reloads and a good cleaning I sadly carried her to the local gun shop and said goodbye. in all fairness the 7.62x54r has a bit more recoil than an old lady like me can handle comfortably and she had been "sporterized" by whatever idiot had owned it before me so she lacked the hard collector value and most of her forestock else she would be hanging on my wall now. oh and she was a Tula Arsenal with matching numbers and soviet stamps over the imperial stamps - damn I wish she had been 100%. I went back the British .303 Belgian as I seem to manage the recoil so much better.

gosh how long ago has it been? I can't remember at this point but it was a while ago as rocket used helicopter parts as an example of a type of gameplay he would like to see. he suggested that if you can't seem to find a certain widget to get your heli running but you know of another widget on someone else's heli over on another server so you and your boys go raid that server for their parts to fix your heli. your suggestion would make that entire scenario all but impossible. I play whatever server I feel like playing on and I personally expect to be in the same location when I log on to whatever server I so choose. private hives are now and will always be a separate issue.
