so I inadvertently tested persistence earlier this week when I was switching out backpacks. I dropped a child's briefcase in favor of a hunter's pack and went about my looting, about 3 or 4 mins later the server restarted and I rejoined. as I was only about 3 or 4 mins from the child's briefcase I made my way back to it to see if it did indeed remain and low and behold the very same pack I had dropped was still there. also in the area were a few new items that were not present before the restart and as far as I can tell everything else that was there when I originally arrived at the location. as to how long that pack would stay, I really couldn't say but probably not too long due to its badly damaged condition but it did make it through one server restart. no we cannot repair bags at this time - is that even going to be a thing?

perhaps you should go spend some time reading up on the current state of development before you come here and cry a lot. zeds are getting some major rework, which you would know had you been following along.

mine too and its pristine w/ pristine battery (glad I always keep that thing) - 2 pops with it and dead zed. I am starting to think I likes it a lot.

hehe I was stuck under the apartments at dubkey once so I set my character to running and jammed the run key on my keyboard and went off to do some housework. she was fully hydrated, energized and healthy when I started that exercise and an hour later she was still healthy and energized but not yet thirsty. I unjammed the run key and subimitted a ticket - much less painful.

if you keep checking on your ticket, it's status will change to "resolved" when they have you unstuck. my ticket was resolved in a few hours after I submitted it (which is like light speed compared to some other game's tech support).

how very right you are sir. my apologies. on topic... so is running up stairs going to be a thing again because that was awesome. with the thermometer I have been thinking about the timing of my untimely death and I have to wonder if maybe the really bad condition of the thermometer might have poisoned me and I died from that as I died about 5 seconds after I got the temp reading. coincidence I'm sure. mercury isn't that lethal is it? and matches. my kingdom for some matches....

so yeah hypothermia is a bit jacked. I found I couldn't interact with stuff after a few mins so I relog to discover I really did eat all that food and I was now hypothermic. spent 20 mins in a town looking for matches and something to chop firewood with to no avail but all the while I was "warming up rapidly", did I mention I was wearing a wool coat, gloves and a cowboy hat? I did manage to find a medical thermometer and gave it a use "my temperature is 35c" and in less than a minute "you are dead". maybe it was that badly damaged thermometer. guess its back to stable for the morning ;)

maybe in your neighborhood but in my neighborhood we are all pretty much locked and loaded 24/7 and we would have the KoSer types hanging from the telephone poles in short order to server as a warning to other KoSer types. maybe you need to find a better neighborhood dude.

oh that blows - that's my go to for video problems too. hopefully someone else will come along soon with better info edit: it occurs to me that you may have to reinstall the game and then try changing some of the settings

sorry but this gave me a little chuckle. don't let it get you down too much, its a sad part of the game but its a part of the game none the less. you are of course free to adopt those tactics yourself and have a good laugh at someone else's expense as well (just so you know I would have been in your position too had I been there). the best advice I can offer is to resign yourself to constant death and hope that most of them are a good death and view your gear as something borrowed and not owned. oh and gear is just everywhere most of the time so all it really takes to recover is a bit of patience and maybe some stealth.

oh well at least you are finding peeps that are pretending to be friendly... I just get shot in the back of the head, no words no warning no reason. CoD at its finest.

I'll just address a couple of these... as for sights/scope on the sporter (ruger 10/22) I'll just let you contemplate this http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_xQaq8IgtGgk/TAFNB98CdTI/AAAAAAAAAE4/u2fJHM18K3s/s1600/IMG_7003.jpg for a bit. it just needs it's scope added to the game overall. there have been many of these nice little rifles in the family and we scoped them all, even my browning bl-22 has scope rails and its an antique. you are 100% correct on the burlap wrap - looks more like white linen once its made and the grass does not help. the makeshift bayonet had me thinking along these lines... kitchen knife + duct tape + ash wood stick = "here let me poke your eye out". that's about all I have an opinion on but let me say you have some good ideas going there (I almost never say that by the way) ;)

I'll not dissect this one. you should realize that once "off grid" living as you put it is easily available to everyone then your person to person encounters in the woods become more likely and the map will become more useful overall. its a very good thing that recent changes are drastically changing the way people play the game because at the moment there is still a huge amount of players that treat this game like CoD or BF4 and that is more annoying than anything else I have encountered in the game to include buggy zeds and that shitty glitch death I suffered yesterday. I cannot count the number of vids I have seen that seem to open with players saying things along these lines... "hey you got ammo? cool lets go find some action..." what is that if not the CoD mentality? so yeah I will be living in the woods somewhere keeping an eye out for the likes of you. so keep that in mind when next you venture into the forest for a few sticks.

ummm pretty sure we were discussing the game. it has an age gate for a reason, I simply wish it were enforced. and I find your tone to be a bit offensive. much like children playing adult games.

heh nothing like having the game play for you to your detriment whilst you are away. this is the primary reason I don't play state of decay anymore - the other reason is it was boring as hell but that's another topic.
