are we taking into consideration that with the fresh fruit and pristine weapons/clothes everywhere that this apocalypse has only occurred in the last week or so? I still haven't seen any "fresh mowed" grass by the way. I'm not opposed to a more degraded look and feel as long as its in keeping with the actual lore of the apocalypse but so far it looks to be a very recent occurrence.

tried that, all I get is... if in inventory "inspect" if not in inventory "take whateverbooktitle" and "inspect". oh maybe I have to equip it in my hands (no I am not blonde but right now it sure feels like it... no offense to actual blonds by the way, not that you would actually notice) so that's the next option to try I guess. I suppose if all else fails I can bleach my hair.

funny you should mention that - carried one around ingame for about a week then tossed it cause I couldn't figure out how to read it. speaking of which... how the hell does one read the ingame books anyways?

a little of both methinks, personally I care. I can't justify the expense of a game as expensive as arma 3 just to play a mod. the biggest question, however, if he's so big on breaking point why is he here trash talkin? oh look, see it is both.

oh I know right? I just keep imagining some large rouge clan besets this little get together in full battle regalia with a back up clan or two in the wings - the vids should be tons of fun.

interesting... I have noticed that I get a rather substantial "bump" in my performance when players join the server I'm on - tested this with low pop servers - suddenly everything hangs up for a sec or so and I press P to see someone just logging on. haven't tested any other stuff related to the P menu however.

well its possible that you weren't alone out there and when the server bugged your character stuck around for a while making you easy pickins for some robber types - that happened to me on experimental once, all I was left with was my shirt, pants a little food some ammo and someone else's mosin - I had to go find me some more gear but at least I had something to keep me alive, albeit I was very short on ammo at that point. oh and they left me a damaged fire axe in exchange for the pristine I had been using up till then.

yeah I just got booted from a US server and then none showed up in the list - maybe they are looking for our characters... one can only hope

yeah I had that too then I got the red lettered message that the server couldn't find my char info and my char had been reset and that an administrator had been contacted and I would have to restart to join a server - I joined another server and sure enough I was at the beach. oh sorry about all the ands edit: ok my reset char was reset with the same red lettered message oh and I am trying to join the US servers of which there seem to be only half as many now

so I just found the experimentals up again but I got a character reset message... did we just have a character wipe or did I just have an issue?

on the subject of ricochet... I did see a vid of a couple of guys messing around in a lil town, they were standing next to a wall and one of them accidently discharges his FNX and the ricochet wounded his friend to the point of requiring a bandage. you could see the bullet impact the wall and the friend was to the left of LOS. so ricochet was happening a month or so ago so I assume it still does. on a side note: I need to stop watching so many videos...

unfortunately I don't have any screens of it but the next time I spawn I'll certainly grab some - basically I end up having to run back to the one that stopped and give it a good shove to gain agro which causes one in the larger group to loose agro but that one is in the direction I am heading anyway so give it a good shove on the way by and it goes back and forth like that till I have em all in town - once in town its a crap shoot and I don't care how many I have, I'll start looting while leaving most of them at the door I went into and picking up more out the back (or front depending on where I entered). nothing like a meat shield or four ;)

I've seen the DayZ SA mythbusters video that shows a person getting killed with shots to only the weapon so it makes sense that the backpack would be the same.

once you have an east and a west they combine to make a full map, same for a north and south, you can find half maps already which is handy but the quarter maps are most common - I tend to find most map parts in the larger towns that have the row shops with what looks like a roll-up door covering the window (sorry I don't have a pic for ya) but the most common of those has the roll-up door broken so you can see in and they usually have a red door to access the interior. I have also found them in supermarkets and the apartments above the shops (three story buildings mostly but on the first or second floor) the towns I have found maps in are electro, cherno, zelenogorsk, pustoshka and gvozdno. happy hunting - the map search is one of my favorite activities :)

oh I've done this before as a newspawn I've managed to keep up to 5 interested but its a lot of work - they do provide good cover running into electro, ya just gotta mix and mingle with em while not getting hit by em. oh and a lot of backtracking to get that one that always stops.

most likely, I had this problem a while back only to discover that my steam was running in offline mode - I had to reinstall steam to get it back online and haven't had any problems since. good luck edit: I just checked my steam and it is offline too... gotta love it
