I've found ruined stuff before in places that I thought were unlooted but I have also left ruined stuff in places that I leave looking unlooted so theres that. the latest was a ruined protector case in electro firestation I was happy to note it went right on the third shelf in place of the damaged one I took :)

oh I love Green Mountain.... the view is amazing from the platform. just don't go after dark, just sayin.

10 mins or more is what I use, the timer is only 30 seconds but a lot can happen in those 30 seconds so I tend to take excessive time to make sure I am "safe". it also allows my pursuers the opportunity to continue looking but if I feel "safe" after 10 mins or so I'm gone.

So placing the Bible in my Press Vest did this..
Elle replied to Irish.'s topic in General Discussion
a version or two back the press vest was bugged for damage so that a badly damaged vest became pristine with zed hits - dunno about the pants or the bible thing but I have witnessed the press vest bug myself I'll make sure to keep a bible the next time I find one and give this a try. -
before the logout timer was introduced logout was instantaneous and combat logging was very effective, as in, your adversary would have been gone by the time you got there. as it is now with the logout timer your adversary was still on the server while logging out giving you the opportunity to kill him. so from the dev perspective the timer is the "for the moment" fix but from the player perspective I am not sure what steps you could take to prevent this other than exactly what you did (good call by the way and yes sounds like combat logging to me). when I feel that I have evaded my enemies successfully I will spend at least another 10 mins on the server, shaky hands and all, and continue making my way farther from the incident area while checking my six for pursuit. after those 10 mins or so I will find a nice big tree and poke around with my inventory to calm my nerves and kill a few more mins for the sake of random encounters (zeds et al..) then I log off and go smoke a cigarette or two.

it was about 25 years ago that I owned the 1891 and back then that was the most common iteration of the rifle (they were everywhere and cost about $50 to own). when I went shopping for later versions of the rifle all of the examples of the 91/30 were the sniper version with the bent bolt handle and they were all in excess of $1000. I did find a few examples of the carbines however but with the recoil of the 7.62x54r the 1891 was a better choice for me as it was heavy and its weight took a lot the recoil. so you have a problem with the art??? seriously I am quite sure that my elbows in the game showing through my riders jacket does not look right but I am not suggesting that they remove the riders jacket from the game until a better fitting jacket is ready.

pay attention now.... There is NOTHING to drill.
-
OP I must assume you have never owned one of these rifles. several years ago I owned a mosin nagant model 1891 (this was the first in the line and was manufactured by the Russian imperials during the late 19th century) and the first thing I did with it was investigate how to mount my scope. because this was the 1891 and not the 1891/30 (the actual model of the 9130) it required a bolt mod or a new bolt. had I owned an actual 1891/30 the bolt would not be required and I could mount my scope using the rail kit and the scope's rings - yes a real scope (4x 32mm) - I have never heard of a "scout scope" and I have been shooting all my life.
-
considering how simple it is to add a ringed scope (like the LRS) to the 9130 in real life your suggestion seems more than unreasonable.
-
the rail mounts under the rear sight dovetail (2 screws) - the only holes that need to be drilled are the holes required to mount the replacement bolt - the actual 9130 does not require the replacement bolt as the factory bolt is already bent to accommodate the rail and scope.
-
http://www.brownells.com/optics-mounting/scope-bases/rifle-bases/moisin-nagant-scope-mounting-system-prod78.aspx fortunately we already use the 9130 so the bolt handle is already bent. unfortunately the 9130 in the real world is horribly rare and expensive.

the next time you visit your video config, disable your post processing and see if that helps - should also improve your performance.
-
sure it does, don't be an idiot. if they disable the rain how the hell are they supposed to test its impact on everything else?? the rain, like most everything is in over abundance for the sake of testing. why do you think you keep finding so many fuckin beans???

you play your way and I'll play mine but don't EVER tell me I am playing it wrong else I might have to hunt you down and kill you without mercy after which I will troll you so hard in direct that you will retire from the game for a week to recuperate. god I love a game without rules.

I never refer to myself as a "lone wolf" but I almost never run with other people and usually that happens as a result of conversation outside the game. when I spot other players I keep a keen eye on them to determine their intent and then head off in the opposite direction. I don't bother with any up close interaction as I see other players the same way I see the zeds, they are just obstacles to my survival and I have about a 75% survival rate from those accidental up-close encounters (those are quite un-nerving I might add). I generally don't view others from a perspective of malice however I have been known to fire more than one warning shot and a few not so warning shots. I will ignore EVERYONE that calls out to me for whatever reason but I have been known to call out a greeting when passing someone on the road (usually it goes well). I MIGHT help you if I think you need it and if it is obvious that you don't need it, I will seek to be rid of you like the plague without having to take your life. I will shoot you if you prove to be hostile and I may kill you if I have the skill to do it, if not... well I am sure you know how that goes. if I shoot, your death is my intent - I don't maim. you are not alone in being alone. its just easier to conceal one person than it is to conceal a group.

haha I responded to a post on the wrong game :p I do that sometimes. I don't play the mod so I don't really know about its mechanics. now I need to remind myself yet again to read the header before responding ;) and that does sound a bit excessive.

oh I know right? too much to ask for 7.62x54r I guess. on topic... you can find ammo in supermarkets, apartment buildings, gas stations, TEC buildings, as well as some of the barns and the occasional house but I usually head to an obscure base to the west for ammo. oh it occurs to me that if you do a full sweep at zelenogorsk (sp) you should come away with a fair amount of mosin ammo, just a thought.

if you still have the default key bindings you can use the + on the number pad to zoom all the way in (or incrementally) with the long range scope and then use the right mouse button to eliminate a lot of the sway. if you are using a different scope or just the iron sights you can still hold the right mouse button (holds breath) to eliminate some sway. if you are seeking to take an accurate shot at distance I recommend going prone or at least crouch as both positions will also eliminate a small measure of the sway and holding your breath will eliminate even more. good luck

give this a good read - http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/190827-dayz-support/ -
dunno where ya are getting yer numbers but I can eat a bag of rice and drink two canteens of water and be good for an entire days play with all statuses in the green - I do find that I have to drink more than eat but that's probably because I have to in real life too - food and drink are the least of the problems in the game. oh and welcome to the forum

OP sounds like with your specs that you are suffering from Microsoft's pathetic attempts to save you some power. do some research on the web concerning "CPU Parking" - I would recommend the fix from Microsoft as there are a lot of little programs available for free to "fix" this issue and we all know how that can go... having said all that you should also have a look at this handy little guide. http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/28cla2/dayz_sa_frame_optimization_launch_options_fov/

before I finished reading your post I had figured out how best to exploit your skill system with the least amount of effort and risk while allowing maximum benefit - damn that was easy. as for the class system - never. go play WoW.

Has DayZ ever gotten you in real world trouble?
