My life story is long and interesting. But the long part makes me not want to type it up.
  1. I'm still here, I actually made part of that morse code/SSTV thing a while back. It was probably the only one officially left "unsolved". I debated making another mystery for you guys, but it's really hard to track you down.

A Friendly Face In The City

Still alive and still bored anyone else up here?
  3. I need people to play with I suppose. I've got skype. I don't like killing people for no reason. But I thoroughly enjoy messing with them, What time zone you in?
  4. I forgot to mention something else. Most people don't know why it is that number's stations exist. I'm not sure about all the random frequencies out there. But I do know that most numbers stations are listing off information connected to various one-time pads. It's basically how spies can safely communicate to each other. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One-time_pad

    New hobby: working for others

If you're ever in the sky-scraper towns above Cherno/Balota hit me up. I'd be willing to share food and might have something you're trying to get someone else. Never know.

    DayZ birthday idea

Ha, happy birthday man, I turned 18 today and think I'm going to spend most of my time camping out in game when I'm not busy doing life-stuff

Yeah, the experimental branch usually only attracts the players that read up on the game and whatnot. I have more fun in them by far. Most interactions feel like I'm dealing with people not players if you get what I mean.
  8. I'm not part of the TMW or anything but I do try and be kind whenever I can. For a while now I've been living in the sky-scraper cities above Cherno/Balota and have been surviving quite well. I've run out of things to do so I mostly forage and read up here. If there is anyone in the experimental branch that needs any kind of help, be it medical attention (I've got a buttload of saline) or you just need some help getting supplies (I'll take you around the general area so long as we stay away from the airfield.) then please contact me. I don't have much else to do anyway. General Discussion Part: Do any of you guys pick a specific place and more or less camp out in it's ruins?
  9. Don't fight unless you have a weapon. If you have to fight aim for the head. If you can knock anything out, be it players or zeds then you have the advantage. Just beat on them while they're down. Getting either kind of axe or a gardening hoe will work well for killing them. The fire extinguisher is really accurate if you want to konk them out. I would avoid shovels and crowbars myself. But to each his own. Good luck out there and remember to head further inland if you're on a server with little to no loot. People tend to stick to coastal towns and places adjacent to airfields. Avoid those areas and you can cover your basics with relative safety. If you upset a horde of zombies you'll have to dodge them for a while and then run all the way to the next town over trying to lose them. Try and sneak around. Zombie sight is supposed to be based on human sight so camo and dark clothing helps. Stay in shadows and make as little nosie as possible.

    Casuals and DayZ

I personally love the idea of a hostile faction possibly having a ton of power over me. The world is not balanced why the hell does the game constantly need to be? It would be really neat to run out and try to find a gun with the express intent of shooting at a helicopter. Then having to hide while a bunch of armed guys chased me down. It sounds like an unfair power balance could create some really intense gameplay and I personally think people want the game to be too damn easy. This game should be very punishing everytime you do anything stupid. Just walking on the main roads is dangerous and it should stay that way. High powered weapons should be rare but should still be there. I don't want to walk around without any fear. I play this game for the adrenaline each time you talk to a person while really immersed. If everything were so damn easy that I wasn't ever scared there wouldn't be a point. This game would just turn into a walking around and house building game, not a survival horror simulation. This isn't minecraft. It's Day Z.

    DayZ feels American

Well, let's just establish this. Chernarus is not Russia. I don't think this is as xenophobic as you guys are knocking it for being. He has a point, the island is not far from Russia and should follow a lot of the customs followed there. They will be changing gun spawns and adding many more guns soon so those items can't really be argued about. Russian influences on the clothes are there but there are many western ones as well. This isn't unrealistic though, western culture could be popular in Chernarus. As far as flags go, no one knows the official military history of Chernarus, the U.S. may have sent troops there. There are a lot of tell tale signs that the UN intervened at some point in the process of the zombie outbreak. However I feel like Chernarus itself should have it's own flag. That'd be neat to see places especially all tattered. All in all you're addressing a topic of minor importance but it's still worth addressing. The game design has a long way to come but so far I haven't noticed things going in a bad direction.

    Fumbling Around In The Dark

Photosensitivity would be a better term than night-vision. Night-vision is too much of a vague blanket term. Some animals are more photosensitive than others and some individuals of a species may be more photosensitive than others. Human photosensitivity varies on how long youve been exposed to a certain light level. My eyes personally work better in darker situations. It may just be a mater of personal design differences.

This topic... all these pointless arguements... all of us being idiots. What have I created?

Having both of those so low only makes you dimmer (see what I did there?) You're no better than anyone else because you cant see light the same. Calm your tits and play your game how you feel like it. But please, have the decency to respect the opinions of others. Your comments from the very beggining were of an aggressive nature.
