Well.........been craving a dayz fix in a post apoc dump waste land...I hate admit it, I have been missing DayZ lately.....I think it might be time to come back and play and give this .59 stable a look. Looks like there's some cool new adds.

Haven't played in while but I just wanted to stop by and say, I have been watching dayz tv and I like what I'm seeing with these patches! Looks good!

I say keep those patches coming, keep adding to it, get the glitches ironed out, and finish this god dam game. Dean made his choice, so be it. He moved on, so let him go. Its not his prodject anymore.. He has no control over it anymore, so it kind of dosen't matter. Also most of us paid 29 bucks for it..........oh boy that hurt my pocket book....100s and 100s of hours played. Too many hours really.....But really that's a pretty dam decent price for what I got out of it. Even if I never come back, I would not feel burned at all, I got a ton of game play time out of it. I would not hold anyone's feet to the coals over it. Honestly I'm not sure if I would even care that much. My god look at Star Citizen, holy shit. People are forking over $100s even $1000s for a game that may never get released. Its Silly. Promise after promise after promise. I read on PC Gamer people are talking class action lawsuits, because the kolaid/bs wore off for some and now they think it will never get finished. Almost reminds me of a weird cult. There's games out there that had far worse questioning of the developers believe me. Dean from my observation as a gamer is a vary complex conflicted man, who might be better at brainstorming crazy ideas then managing a huge prodject anyways. That's just my take from what I read and saw. So let him be that....maybe he will make some more games, or come up with even more revolutionary ideas. More power to him. TIME will be the true judge of DayZ though.

Deans comments, and interviews ect ect, are both what lured me to play dayz, and caused me to really start questioning if the game is really worth investing allot of time playing. Its the truth. Hes said some pretty cool interesting things and some pretty damming things. He also was in no way ready for the success it brought just based on what he said in his own words....or possibly even knew how to handle it..BUT hes not in charge anymore. So I'll watch and wait to see what they do.I am not going to play just watch. Maybe he had the vision, but maybe someone else needs to make that vision to a reality. Who the F knows lol I'm still watching the patches and DayZ TV news..I like what I am seeing!! But maybe not really ready to dive back in head 1st 100s of hours lol I'm just not going to play until it gets closer to completion. So Dean is the founding father, maybe not the guy that saw it all though at the end.
  5. Hicks, I am going to for while, I am going to follow the progress on dayz tv and twitter. I played dayz sa pretty much none stop since Feb last year all the way til recently prob .53 stable after that not as much. I also don't want to burn my self out on it, because I love the concept. There has been quite a bit of growth, bumps in road, but over all a pretty interesting different gaming exp like no other and really fun at times. I played for more hours in the SA then most of the games on my steam list which says something. I really hope this turns out to be a epic survival game, and hope your team knocks it out of the park when its all said and done.
  6. One last thing to add, then I am going to shut my cake hole for a while.. With .55 stable we have sine positive changes in my view. Zombies are more of a challenge to deal with and have much better AI. There are real tactics you can use to avoid the, stealth. I had to fight a few of them, right off I noticed shooting them was the best way. Loot count is also better, it more scarce, which vary much turns it into a survival game. This is good. BUT with these new challenges in place, persistants really needs to work well all the time. When I played .55 stable it did not work well at all, in fact I lost allot of stuff, by putting faith into it. It vary wishy washy right now. So if there is one thing that really needs to get dialed in 1st, In my view that is if it is indeed going to turn into a real survival game. That really should be looked into. I think in its the current state of the SA with persistants working really well, it would make it so much better on all servers. I can deal with the truck bugs, server wait times/crashes, bugs and the heat turned up. But we need to be able to store gear, make a camp, ect ect. Now I know some servers work way better then others. Its tribal knowledge which ones they are, they ALL work well across the board. Otherwise why even play.
  7. This is true in many respects considering the SAs current state. But I think for me in many respects I am going to reserve all final judgement of the SA until it is complete I think what were seeing here is a issue that we see with early access games. There incomplete when you buy it is still vary much in development. These games are played by average players. die hard players but not STEs. Really average players and die hard players even if they have a background in software development or IT, they really buy steam games too have fun. I really don't expect them to have to know how the development process works, unless they really wanted to know. Some are interested, but most just want to have fun and play, For those who want just have fun and play, early access games can be painful. Of course there is going to be bitching. What do they expect? Early access is a double edged sword. I really only think it works well in SOME cases. Like indie game company, and with really interested player base, were they really are part of the dev process thats. Naval Action is a perfect example of a really good early access and they have a really good reason to early access. They simply wound not be able to make the game otherwise. But not half the steam store. With DayZ there was the mod 1st and then the SA. Many players of DayZ set the bar pretty high because we know what the ARMA 2 engine and mods like DayZ are capible of. The bar is set high for the SA and in a way is victim of the MODS success. We want to see those features in dayz sa. The problem is going to be a while because the SA is vary much its own game, they started from scratch. So hopefully at the end of all this the SA will be better then the mod. We will see. One thing I will say vary positive, is since I played starting in Feb 2014, it really has come a long way. But it still really does have a long way to go too. The path is set for the SA and there is going to be more growing pains in the future. So really I will really just wait and see.
  8. Correct the game should be a struggle.......but the mechanics have to work correctly. There are many issues server wait times ON 1st try,, persistants hardly working, truck bugs, leaving items on the ground just for them to dis appear ect ect ect.....The game was has a long list of mechanics that are incomplete and are out of balance. The devs know that, they also have been up front about it..every one knows it is early access....Thats why I said in my post.....Just wait til its complete if you dont want to deal with the growing pains. I am not dissing them, but I am questioning the early access model being used so commonly now after the SA. Steam is pushing them out like crazy now..... Also this is now a main stream game hate to tell you, so is the company that is making it. This isn't like some nitch band you hear play done at some venue and happen to buy a record that no one has. This is a vary well known game.
  9. Dayz Mod was a a free super mod for arma 2...........FREE.....it was by far the most popular mods for the arma series......but it is still a mod which there is a metric ton of for arma 2 DayZ SA is a stand alone that is in alpha phase......30 $ last I checked. Not sure what your saying......
  10. My Thoughts, Really this game is still in development. Its early access, which is becoming a bit too common on steam BUT DayZ SA did it before it was cool lol if you know what I mean. Every single thing I have read about it, from the dev log is the game is far from complete. Its prob got a another 10 months or so before its anywhere close to release. I really don't think it will be like the mod when its done. Best case its going to be a epic survival game, or simulator, prob a really purest form of the Day Z vision. Worst case which I don't think will happen it will fold. This is the problem with early access.....keeping the interest of the die hard play base through its growing pains. One of the reason why sometimes I don't think early access is the best route. In fact with the GTA 5 PC release I saw a perfect example of what a perfect PC release should look like. They made every one WAIT til it was perfect. COMPLETE op of the early access model. More then once they pushed out release dates. Did not cut any corners. What happened was a next gen title, with 60 fps even on older systems. Perfect seemless game play, even puts Bethesda to shame. Its the way games should be made! Also my point is I don't mind waiting if the end product is really well done. DayZ SA is a wonderful concept, but it is buggy and filled with issues. With the .55 I saw many improvements to loot count, zombies ect. But persistants does not work well still.I found out the hard way it really is still pretty wishy washy. I decided to just simply walk away for a while and just monitor. Simply check in from time to time watch patches and wait. I still have a strong interest and want to see this game really seceed. What I am concerned with, is the devs giving in and simply watering every thing down to appease the complaining. When really they just need to finish what the started and really dial it in, so it is epic. I want to feel like Im in that movie The Road when I play, or in a epoc....You guys know what I talking about. I don't any bugs and unfinished stuff. I want it to really feel like a minute by minute one day at a time survival exp.....gritty..and....SEEMLESS...I want to be able to TRUST the mechanics to work 100% of the time in game, that is HUGE. That way know one will have anyone to blame for the mis fortunes in game but them selves. So just take a breather for a while if you don't have the patience for it, or feel like investing a ton of time in it yet. Its got a long way to go yet. Hopefully it will all come together at the end.
  11. I wanted to create a thread to discuss various play styles players have. The reason I wanted to do this is because of the level of freedom the SA has. There really is no right or wrong way to play. Are you a group or lone wolf or both? Are in a clan or are you free agent with just some fiends? Do you play to survive as long as possible or does it even matter? Do you pvp to survive or is something you do just for pure thrills or both? Do you have any rules of engagement? Or do treat case by case..or do you just hate everyone? Lol Have you dabled in RPing? Are you a hero or bandit? Or do you find those terms bs? Were do gravitate urban areas or prefer being in the woods? Do you focus on survivalist type stuff or do you just play to pvp. What is idea of what makes a good dayz player? Are you a minimalist or are you a hoarder? Do you pvp or just avoid it? Do you just stay in one area or do you like to explore the map? What do you define as being successful in game? I guess there's really no right or wrong answers, so I want to keep this civil. Mainly I think its kind interesting to see how everyone else plays just because of the game play freedom.
  12. Well I must say Im optimistic with the new patch and the way things are going. .55 revised my interest in DayZ SA. Its challenging again, and Im finding my self having to really think about what Im doing in game. Its harder to survive, zombies are tougher, but there not broken. Theres real mechanics now implace for them, you have to sneak and use tactics to counter them just like other players. Funny thing was in my short time playing the few players I encountered I was less concerned with them the zombies.....as crazy as that sounds. Thats really cool. I like the loot count. It forces players to really consider what there doing and form a game plan. What I would like to see is more survival mechanics and craftable items. Example alt methods of starting fires then just matches, easier ways to tan leather out side of having to carry a bag of lime. More options for surviving off the land, not nec easier ones just more. Im sure its all in the works. We just have to wait. On the down side I lost alot of items thinking persist works. I mean a ghillie suit, and top. It took me a long while to get all the items I needed to craft all that in .54. So just based on that I would be really careful with what you store. Thats def not working on every server and its a crap shoot. Right now the game I think is going in that right direction, but there are things about that are not done yet. I think DayZ Sa will be good and the game we want, but theres going to be growing pains that will test our patience. I def saw that today. Its def not prefect yet, it will get there I think. No one says you have to play or play in smaller doses til the game is running smooth enough to your liking. The growing pains (crude mechanics and bugs) can be alittle more then your avarage gamer on steam to deal with. To me that should be understandable. I think its the pros and cons of early access, I have mixed thoughts about it for sure. Cool and some ways crappy in others.

Not all Servers are the same. (0.55)

Im begining to think this is persistants as well. Some servers work some do. I do like the changes in .55. Its all part of the new loot system for better or worse too. I wish there was a way to make it work well across the board. Their going to get I think. Its just going to take time. Its alpha.
  14. So over all I think .55 is a step in the right direction. The new zombie AI, is great, the new loot system I like ect ect. I killed a few of those new zombies and there really not too bad. Def more too be careful about then the old ones but there not terminator zombies like some were making them out to be. Also I FOR ME it really is not that bad surviving in .55 at all. People were making it out to be really super hard now.....its not really, there's just less loot. But there still food every were. Its now a couple notches more challenging which was needed. But as always one must never be too optimistic or count on anything working correctly in the stand alone. I decided after hearing the news about persistants working much better, I would give it a shot and make a camp. So I did, I found a tent stored my ghillie suit, and set out too fill my tent. So I went out and filled a mountain back pack full of items and returned to the tent. I began moving stuff back and forth, all the sudden red timer. Now the server said persist ON. I had some trouble getting back on the server, when I did all my stuff was gone. It was like I never found the tent, and all my stuff was missing. What a bumber. The worst was losing that ghillie suit what a bumber. So It dosnt work. At least not the server I was on. I am not mad, more disappointed and un willing to invest a ton of time until some of this game really does work reliably Im sorry to say.I hope this game really comes together at the end. I also know that its early access.
  15. CJFlint

Thought you said persistants works in .55

Well GTA 5 is almost ready for early download on the 7th. That was something I have been waiting for and will hold me over for a while. So its not a big deal. Regardless either it works or does not work. Finding one server that works out of 5 or 6 seems kind of lame...One of option is to simply host your own server, but is 5$ to 100$ a month really worth it, unless it was a group deal. So from what I gathered here its a total crap shoot from server to server......in my mind thats to wishy washy to bother with.
  16. CJFlint

Thought you said persistants works in .55

Well like I said, I think the patch was a step in a positive direction. I do like many of the changes. The problem is we need to be able to count on features working. Other wise whats the point of investing a ton of time playing. Or just be told, it just not working so well yet, don't risk any thing impotant. It also could have been on a server that was bad I don't know. How would I have known that, that might be something worth exploring to. I am trying to be as reasonable and fair as possible.
  17. CJFlint

    My thoughts on 0.55

I think IF persistants works as well as the devs say now. The question is does it wipe every week still or at all anymore? I have been pondering making a camp. Before I left for a while I became kind of a minimalist walking bush, so does this mean I can store shit now and not worry about it just disappearing into the either? If its more perm, this patch changes the playing feild.... Persistants is the big ? in my mind...........so it works now..........right? Or is all wishy washy still........it kind of works sometimes....your shit might be there.......maybe not........lol I just dont want to waste a bunch of time just to find out it dosnt work...
  18. CJFlint

What do you think about the new update .55

I think the game was getting down right stupid before .55 stable. There serously was to much loot. The survival side of dayz was a novelty to many players. Becuase dayz has become so main stream, were seeing more and more of this call of duty, type mantality in the game. Its either horse around and joke, or instant grad aimless pvp. Infact I started to notice that players like me the survivalist solo, over watch players were kind of the odd ball. In game in fact I have been ridicualed for surviving to long, and being a careful pvper.....no shit. Becuase of how much loot there was more and more over time really dayz sa turned into nothing more a pvp fuckfest. M&B did that well........but dayz? I almost just wrote the game off becuase of it, I was getting really sick of it. That combined with .54 hitting stable all messed up and some other stuff, really cause my interest to sink fast, and hit an all time low. .55 turns DayZ SA into a surival game. Theres less loot and the zombies are more deadly, theres more of them too. So now you have to really think about what your doing. You will not just be able to gear up in a half an hour any more. Its going to force players to consider hunting, fishing, picking, even farming as a option now. You cant just drink out of a pond anymore. There is real challenge now out side of aimless electro pvp. Your going to have to think about keeping your avatar alive, because if he dies all that gear is gone. Now its much harder to regear.... It was a much needed change and over due. I mean really. If you like all the cool gear, guns ect ect....try ARMA 3 or ARMA 2 that has the same engine. Becuase this is a survival game. I watched a couple of videos about the new patch, and thought now were talking. I loged in last night and my avatar for 3pp was still there. I wanted to see how these new zombies were.....god dam there all over the place and less predictible. For the 1st time ever I say dayz zombies are cool. The sneaking mechanic works well. I was able to simply navigate around them. I found my self really having to plan. Oh thats how I get in that fire house without the seeing me. What gathered from it, if your not a chuckle head and really think about what your doing, you will be ok. But if you just aimlessly running around like before, GOOD LUCK! Its def a welcome change.
  19. I have not fought any zombies yet in .55, I really wanted to avoid them. I found I was able to get about 20 feet away from them and was able to loot really sneaky like. Almost had a hitman game feel to it. I heard there pretty OP so I did not want to fight them unless I really had too lol But I enjoy sneaking and stealth in games so, this was a positive change to me. They should be able to be killed though in a reasonable manor. To me it seems I always have melee problems on high ping servers pre .55. Hand to hand combat is pretty crude in the SA and there is nothing worse the being hit by a zombie that is 10 feet away to have items ruined. It is dodgy. I agree I rather have smoother and better mechanics right now then more items and new map locations. Get it running smoother then put the new stuff in.
  20. I think these new changes with .55 were vary much needed and long over due, I welcome it. Just playing an hour last night, I felt it seems it really is turning into a surival game. Were you need to be thoughtful about everything you do. The zombies are more of concern then other players. Before .55 you could gear up in an hour. You could visit a couple helo crashs and be armed to the teeth with all this high end military gear. There were all these COD fuckfest wreckless pvpers out there. Aimlessly pvping just for thrills with no regard to there avatars well being, jack assing around. Survival was just some boring novelty to them. Loot was everywhere, and zombies were broken and really easy to kill. The game was turning into a fucking joke. I stoped playing......I really was getting sick of it. I alway survived really long times, and pvp even was becoming predictible and easy. Becuase most of those type of player always gravitated at the same god dam places. About the only thing I could say good about it. I say to these COD players, if you dont like the way this is going feel free to check out ARMA 3. All the cool guns are there, all the gear is there. Go play it. Theres no more free rides here, this is a surival game. Go fire up your X-Box. Rejoice! As far as H1Z1 goes Im not playing it! SOE sucks. Even if I decided to quit playing the SA which I recently came close too, I will not play that turd.

    Stable Branch - 0.55 Discussion

I got a chance to play last night after watching some videos about .55 for about an hour. 1st) I like the new zombies. Im a pretty sneaky player anyways and did not agro any of them. I was in Nova and Polona. I did see quite a few of them, walking around and carefully navagated around them. It had the feel of the hitman game. There a real threat now. 2nd) I like the new loot count or econ. Theres not loot every where anymore. This is going to turn up the heat on the COD minded player exactly what I was talking about on another thread. This is huge. Either you take it serous or your going back to the coast. Your no longer going to get by spending an hour gearing up, then wrecklessly pvping with food every where....(I hated that mind set of playing) The game was turning into a god dam joke. There are some really positive changes in this patch which renewed my optimism. I was begining to wonder were there this game was heading.

Is PvP & Atmosphere Dying in DayZ SA?

I used to be a STE Game Tester right after I got out of school. THESE ARE DEF PAID JOBS. You dont just play the game you use tools to find bugs, and data bases to log them. What were doing here is not STE work dont kid your self. Were playing a game/build that is early access, thats it. Maybe unknowingly helping to test stabilty, or mass testing. But not STE. You really dont have much say so on how anything turns out at the end. I dont think it should be either, or we should all be getting checks and our names in the credits. What this is a limited budjet video game prodject at 1st anyways, were they let the public play before release. Probably becuase they dont have a huge staff of STEs like big budjet games have maybe. Also I am not a stakeholder. Did I miss the memo, we get shares in this thing when its done? LOL There is a big difference between a STE and some one who simply buys and downloads a early access game/build on steam and plays it. When dayz sa 1st came out there really was not a whole lot of early access games out on steam anyways. It seemed at the time to be vary cool. Let a lower budget or indi game get crowd funded. There was only a few early access games on steam at the time. This is nothing against dayz sa but, what I find alarming now days steam has really ramped up early access. Its seems like every other game is early access now. So steam is filled now with half finished games. People are really starting to notice this on other forums and warning flags are starting to pop up. So what now we have to deal with growing pains and bugs for every game we play on steam now. It smells of corp greed. Another issue I have with it is your avarage mainstream player has no idea what early access really means yet now days these type of game are being targeted to mainstream players. I say at the min they should be made much more aware of what that all means, so they can decide maybe I will just wait or decide to play. I have seen it here on the forums allot, were players get really pist off about the state of dayz. Almost like they dont understand what ealry access means. I think part of thats there fault, but really is early access really ment for mainstream gamers? Kind too late now for this one. But maybe in the future it would be something to think about.

Is PvP & Atmosphere Dying in DayZ SA?

The root cause of my somewhat dissolutioned feelings toward dayz started during the time of .54 release. It had some pretty serous issues right out of the gate. Almost right after release there was a chain of posts on here and even on twitter, that this patch had some major problems. People lost there attachments, there were game crashs, and there was people losing items out of there inventory. Yeah yeah its alpha. Here what got me. It seemed that the devs had chances to get it fixed quicker but didn't. It was a week before there was anykind of hot fix. Also I had freinds that stated that these issues were in exp. So why not fix them there then release the stable patch. I get there is going to be problems, and I get this is alpha, but that was something that prob could have been avoided. Also Dean Hall, released a statment of his thoughts of selling DayZ, one of the moderators even shared here. What I got out of it was both positive and negative. One of the things the that really got me was I dont think Dean ever in his wildest dreams ever expected dayz to be that sucessful. It seemed he was almost having a presonal battle of even how to handle all the sucess. He didn't seem ready for it. It seemed kind of wishy washy yet vary honest. There were hints that he had some bitter feelings about the whole thing. As a early adopter gamer, you have to understand hearing that from the preson that created a game you put allot of time into kind of brings up second thoughts about the concept. I cant help it. But even with that said, he was honest and truthful about his feelings about this game. And I have to say no other game I have ever played before have the developers been so open about what they are doing. There really is something to be said for that. So maybe were just theres just a bumpy patch and patience is needed. I have read allot of hicks plans of what he intends on doing what he has done. They have a plan they stuck to it so far and it sounds like regardless they will keep sticking to it. So maybe we just need to weather the storm or sit it out and just wait.

Is PvP & Atmosphere Dying in DayZ SA?

I have faith at the end of all this like over a year from now, the stand alone will have all the features many of us want. It is going to take along time. But they do have a plan of what there going to do. The real question is how much growing pains do you feel like putting up with between now and then? Is it better just to wait, or just keep playing through it? Not to harp on thing early access steam thing to much. But firmly believe early access games do not work so well for the mainstream masses, yet steam is pushing tons of games out like they are. I can see it working for more of a nitch crowd or die hard gamer group. Most people and your average players do not have a clue about the video game development process, I really dont expect them too. They get into games like dayz head 1st, and it causes them ton a frustration. Not only is the game hard, but its half done and there bugs and every thing else. We see it all the time on the forums here. Theres like a 100+ page "I give up" thread with endless QQ. For the longest time I was in "the you should know its alpha" camp did not feel any pitty. Now I am not so sure, dayz never was a ment to be mainstream game (dean hall said it him self), it was a nitch game for the longest. But now it is a mainstream game for better or worse. Now days there more casual gamers that happen to run across dayz and dont really know what "early access" means, or even would want to learn. They come into the world of dayz and causes a mountain of frustration. I think overtime early access is going to get more and more of a bad rap. When I kind of left the whole dayz scene for a while and took a look at some game I haven't played in a while. Visit other comunitys. There is starting to be a backlash toward early access and steam in general. People are getting fed up. This backlash is toward a lot of steam games including H1Z1 too. So early access really is a double edged sword, def more risky then say a full release. The reason for this was the sucess of mind craft, and dayz too. So now everyone wants to take on the early access way and steam is just pushing em out. I dont think it such a good idea, maybe Im wrong.

Is PvP & Atmosphere Dying in DayZ SA?

I read through this thread and can see there a few people feeling the same way I do about the state of DayZ....Not all for the same reasons though. As far as the 1pp/3pp debate. If we want more options for 1pp, people are going to have to step up and host more 1pp servers. There just isn't that many 1pp servers right now, and its not the devs fault on that one. Also 3pp has the whole "peeking" issue, this is the main complaint about 3pp that comes up every time like a broken record. This needs to be fixed. Its an clear expliot. I think there should be a dynamic camera in 3pp, were when you get close to a wall, it zooms in so you cant look over it or around it. I know there are many players that are so used to having the peeking that it is just considered part of the game. But it is an expliot. I really feel the game is out of balance in regard to loot count. This game fancys it self a survival game, but its not so much. You can get geared up and have more food then you will need in probably one or two sessions. Now this all varys on one kind of kit your going for, some take longer, example a ghillie suit or what evers. Theres not real incentive to hunt, fish, collect apples, build fires, make leather suits ect......becuase it takes time, and when theres towns and bases filled to the gills with loot most players do not bother with it. This is huge and effects every thing. Players dont even value there avatars, it dosnt matter to them if they get shot, they can just simply respawn and spend a couple hours gearing up then die again. This is what causes the wreckless pvp COD we see in game. It become sort of this lets log in joke around then go die, and hopefully kill a couple of people 1st. Like kill ratios even matter lol. Completly aimless.......Its dumb. So I think if you turn down the loot and make people have to work even harder to get geared up and make them relly on the survival mehanics more, I promiss you people would be allot less wreckless with pvp. Players will value there avatars more and not want to die, this will make pvp more intense, there be much more on the line. It will also feel much more like a survival game. We discussed this on a another thread as well. I want to see it get to the point were your not pvping just for a quick thrill, your pvping becuase you have to survive. Im right now the way things are now, I feel the game has become a bit stale to me. I have got to the point were feel its simply not worth spending a ton of time playing like I have been. Its just not. I think .54 stable kind of left a bitter taste in my mouth. I sometimes think abou playing but the its like.........yeah maybe I do something else, I dont feel like lisening to the COD crap and dont really feel like running around for hours. I got other shit to to do lol After a year of playing I have got to that point. I did everything there is to do. So now really its just watching what comes up in future patches, and then deciding then is it worth playing? I have faith they will pull it together in the long haul. Im sure the devs are probably well aware of what were all talking about, its just going to take time to get around to it. So maybe patience is in order. I mean there nothing wrong with taking a break...you own it. You can just come back to it later, all your steam freinds will still be there. Its going to get better its just going to take a while. I also will add that this is part of the problem with the new steam trend of early access games. There charging a discount price for a incomplete game. At 1st it was like 1 or 2 games. It was kind of cool. But now its like half of everything on stream is early access. I have been playing FSX for years. Yes yes I am a flight sim nerd. They recently released a steam version. Some of the comunity is really not that warmed up to the idea, and quite frankly some dont want anything to do with steam. And to my suprise many are just adding on to classic FSX that has been out since 2006 and claim it works just as good! It was hard but I decided to just stay with the classic too for now, and guess what with a few upgrades and add ons it now works great. One of the main reasons this happens....the new early access model for everything. People are starting to wake up to it and are deciding flat out just not to have anything to do with steam. So this whole issue we see with dayz, is a bit more wide spread then just dayz, theres many other games that have the same sort issue. Its called cheaping down development costs. What happens is we have to go through all the growing pains of development if we want to play and if you dont pay close attention to the dev log, it can lead to some really frustrating gaming. Well people are getting sick of it. I say wait til they finish the game lol
