Server hopping? Is there a solution? If not, what else....
CJFlint replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
I have been noticing more and more, many players I talk to are getting sick of what goes on in public servers. Hackers, hoppers ect ect. I have played public for so long, I can't smell the stank no more lol -
Server hopping? Is there a solution? If not, what else....
CJFlint replied to rickyriot's topic in General Discussion
Well at the end it is private shards. That to me is the only way currently not to have deal with ghosting and hopping. Timers help cut down on it but it never really goes away. The way it is currently it something that goes on allot in 3pp public. I lump it in with "KOS" and the other bull shit that goes on in Dayz including the bugs. I don't like it, but have learned to adapt and deal with it. Players love to complain about all the bad stuff that goes on, but sure as fuck don't mind doing it to every one else lol I really don't know what the solution is for public. What do you do other then make wait times longer. -
Is it too late for night time servers?
CJFlint replied to Caboose187 (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
It seems like theres a metric ton of public 3pp servers that are night time, it just the private shards and 1pp servers that may have a shortage. The way night is in dayz right now, you can make out were your going with out light almost like its a full moon. When I 1st started playing it was pitch black after while. I agree the lighting effects of fire, cem lights, lamps and flashlights are pretty cool. Fires look so bright, its pretty cool. I started log into night servers on 3pp public a few weeks ago, it almost seems like a different world. -
I have played 3pp and 1pp both and enjoy them both. I have played solo on 1pp servers with out TS, which according to OP is being a purist. It was immersive, but at the time I did not think of my self being anymore hard core or a purist by doing so, nor do I feel it required more skill then on 3pp you simply have to be more aware, you dont have the option to look above 3pp. I do feel 1pp forces you to pay closer attention to your suroundings more, due to the restricted view, and you cant peek. You wanna watch someone you gotta stick your head out....which might get shot right off if your not careful lol. Infact last 2 weeks I have been playing 1pp, I do not feel anymore pure or hardcore of a dayz player for doing so. I guess for me its just a different perspective thats all, which makes things seem interesting and fresh again. Its really a matter of immersion right? That really is all it is to me. How much do you want? Do you like your coffee with cream or black....does the same fucking thing at the end lol The reality is dayz 3pp, 1pp or what ever is just by it self a purist game, its pretty hardcore for a game regardless of what view you prefer. Its perma death and pretty harsh cost for dieing compared to other games. One thing I will add is I think 3pp needs is a dynamic camera. Get close to a door the camera zooms in so you cant look around the corner, in 3pp. That really is a expliot that bugs people.

Opinions on teamspeak and DayZ SA?
CJFlint replied to Death By Crowbar's topic in General Discussion
Understand what your saying and why you would think that way. The game is more immersive with out, it is one reason I played solo at times. You really dont have to have it running solo. Infact it can distract you. I would have it running sometimes just for company. Thats playing solo or lone wolf though. But realisticly I have never played a multi player or massive multi player that did not not have teamspeak or vent for team game play. If I play grouped, I want it with out a doupt. There is no other way other then shouting in direct chat or using hand signals in game. Meeting up with team mates would be a task in a half. There already is enough confusion that could happen during group game play, I could not even imagine what would happen with out. Prob would be allot of freindly fire shootings. So team speak is not going anywhere. My vote was situational. It to me is more of a player pref then anything. Do they want to play in group, do they want company when they play or do they just prefer to play solo at one with the elements and immerse them selves in the game as much as posible. -

you know thats a good bottle of boze if it came in a box....... hey.......pour me a little belt of that..... -
I think and wish zombies were really high on the devs piority list. There still pretty buggy, infact they really only been improved once that I know of. They go through floors still sometimes and seem to have eagle vision. Some times closing doors keeps them traped or stuck outside....sometimes not. There has been cases were I have been hit from 10 feet away. So before they add any more of them I would really like it if the ones in game polished much more. So they work correctly. Currently I think they can be really annoying pests more then anything, just becuase you cant predict weather closing a door will really work, or they just will go through a wall. When I see them I try to put them down as quickly as posibe becuase of that. So fix them iron them out 1st, then add more. To be honest hords or herds would be fun, randomly roaming the map. But not hords or herds of broken ones. I would also like to see them look even more creepy. I would like to see much more of a verity of them, right now pretty much theres the female, male and I think 2 types of miltary zombies. I wanna see some real freaky zombies, alittle more creepy then they are. Like with missing limbs and stuff like that. All Fed up lol But its alpha so I will wait patiently.

For me its not the fact that dayz has military gear or what have you, Its the fact that its just not gritty enough....yet. Our male avatars have clean shave, and are clean cut. The female avatars all have there hair done up in a bun, almost like military reg. I want to see beards and a more unkept look. I want see more options to craft clothing. I want the world to look more gritty, spooky and scary. I want it to look like a real dump a real shit hole. The SA still has not set its self apart enough from the ARMA series. I have faith though.

I have also seen a few them, dont forget they changed the look of them in .52

Who still uses Mosin (+LRS) for range kills?!
CJFlint replied to MarchmelloMan's topic in General Discussion
I remember a while ago one of the devs talked about it, or responded to a question about it. I remember her said they might add that feature in, but regardless the game would be modable at the end of the dev. I think it was either dean or hicks that said that, I dont remember which. It was a while ago. -
There fun to drive, buggy to ride shot gun in. Pretty wishy washy currently. Kind of rolling the dice, wether your just going to crash into something glitch out and die. Sure is fun though LOL

Sure you should be able to carry 2 and can. I have done it before, and I get tired of always having to put one down to do anything. It for me it gets old fast. Or if your attacked by zombies and dont want to shoot them, you gotta drop one to get the axe out. I lost an akm doing that in the past. For me I almost think its more of a liabilty having 2 rifles. It slows me down. Weight I have a feeling it will be added maybe down the road. -
It is pretty easy for me too. Some say it is hard to play solo, I find I surive longer in game solo. Its not hard for me anymore to do it. What makes it easy is water and food are really pretty easy to find in game, and water is every where. I think every player goes through kind of a learning process, and they get to the point were it almost starts seeming easy and less thrilling. I started off dieing sometimes twice a night being shot or dieing it seemed really hard, now I keep avatars alive for over a month. My 3pp public avatar has been alive since nov 12. Its kind of rare I die pvp and all, its been serveral months. I stay out of meat grinders instead shoot into them. Im almost......well bored with it, cant wait for GTA 5 to come out for pc lol. Def was not always the case though, god there was one night when 1st started I died 4 times in one night lol I kind of want that thrill back, you know when you 1st start playing...it was pretty intence. Thats when dayz is the funnest, I just dont get that feeling anymore. With that said if you turn up the heat on seasoned player, your really turning it up on the new players. Thats the truth, becuase there is quite a learning curb in this game. I think it is even harder on new players now days then when I 1st started, same with you too.

kos vs. being a filthy sniper with a fetish for violence
CJFlint replied to gcriseightysix's topic in General Discussion
What exactly are you implying? You never played with me before....how do you know I dont play as a passive flagalent monk? I dont deny anyone anything....gosh you talk about it like its real killing...its just a game man. So it seems players tend to shoot each other in this game allot. Its kind of built in ya know. -

I support variety of game play styles, one should play how ever they want with in reason. But one should also be aware of the subject matter of the game, and the type of players that play it. They should go into this gaming know that period. As far as "KOS" goes....I presonally dont care to even talk about it, its really pointless petty subject that leads no where. Seems here on the forums it is something frowned apawn, but it game its a pretty popular thing to do it seems. A whole ton of players are doing it seems. Something has to give there, are we all playing the same game? Its part of the game period. Overtime I have noticed the forums is sometimes a place were players come to vent there in game bad luck really. Its true. -
Would you support a desicion to replace the Infusion engine?
CJFlint replied to Damnyourdeadman's topic in General Discussion
It has seems hicks has already confirmed it. I am also in support of what they are doing. I would love to see more advanced mechanics, and DayZ SA set it self apart from ARMA and DayZ MOD....Not that theres anything wrong those its just dated now. -
Can a moderator...or anyone give me some advice?
CJFlint replied to Survivor05's topic in General Discussion
You saw them 1st and you waited til they speak to you, is that right? Were you armed?.... What does rekted mean? Well that was know one I know, what a none orignal thing to say to someone your about "KOS" just standing looking at each other......seconds go by then BANG "Get rekted faggot hahaaha"...... At least say something funny....sounds like some in game jerk-offs got the better of you Im sorry to say. Not like smart players neither, were talking some top teir die 3 times a night electro ass-hats here. You know the ones that hang out on the coast an prey apon freshys and new players, until they get preyed apon. We gotta get you squared away.... You cant let this happen again! Man oh man I remember when I 1st started playing KOSers were at least kind of funny, so at least you could get a luagh out of it....These kids today dont know shit! -

I said this before on other threads, really "bandit" and "hero" are really just spill off terms from the mod. There vary lose terms used now days in the SA. In game Im thinking more is the player hostile or not hostile, which I determine through posture. Does he or she have a gun in hand, does the person appear to be hunting other players, thats how I decide. I don't waste my time even wondering what they are really up, how do I know, nor do I really give a shit. I just know that Im not going to be the one losing all my shit and have go back to the coast as long as I can help it. Its more of a play style in the SA, then something I will label random someone I dont know while playing, unless I know for a fact. I think players robing each other and the other crap that goes on, is prob is a perfect example of why me and many others just dont bother taking chances with people. They dont give a shit If I have to go back to coast so why in the hell should I care if the get sent there. Right? The rest is just a bunch of endless popycock bull shit.

I had that problem when I was using overwolf overlay, and TS at the same time. My mouse pointer would disappear while in the inventory screen and menu. The only fix was to restart the game. My fix was just not to use over wolf while TS is open.

Playing lone wolf for me really is just a matter of being really aware, and always taking the safer route even if it takes longer. Im always thinking cover, and never staying out in the open for more then a minute or so. When you do encounter another player you need to be really aggressive. Everyone pisses and mouns kos and kos that here on the forums, but when Im in game I know better, I know all the forums kos this and that is all just bull shit in game...It so true! Its just a matter of not taking my chances. For me it was hard at 1st, not so much anymore. After playing solo for off and on for the past year, I have take n note on what to do and what not to do. How I have been killed and what not to do next time. I almost never been shot in the woods, the times I have been shot have always been in a urban setting or inside military barack. So I am always super careful in those areas. I also know its always better to be up high or use a military chrest (meaning using a hill to cover your movements). When I go from point a to b, I do not run on roads, I tend to stay in the tree lines. ect ect. Its not really that bad after a while, so long as I stick to that. But I always crave company and enjoy group play too, so I am not a total lone wolfer. I been reading through this thread, and I think much of this is kind of overthinking what a lone wolfer is ingame....its just a game not real life. Dosnt mean we dont like company or some kind of weird hermit. Its simply a play style.

kos vs. being a filthy sniper with a fetish for violence
CJFlint replied to gcriseightysix's topic in General Discussion
Well god dam this win thread is still going....I thought this one would either disappear into the either or turn into a huge anti KOS rage thread and get locked....well one option is still open. ricp from what I gather is a vary much solo from what I have read in the past, who basicly survives off the land with the bare min.....I think..which is cool in a way...Im sure him or her would be happy with there being no guns in game...I think he or she has spent so much time alone in game that his or her def of the game is a little different from the rest of us who play. In a way that is really cool and shows how diverse the game styles might be latter on when it is released. I don't knock it, but I really don't think ricp reps the bulk of the dayz player base that I know for a fact, and tends to knock other players play style out side of his or her own. Prob because of falling victim to KOSers or what have you. I have seen it on other threads and pretty much say nothing about it, because ricp has also in support of more survival ideas being added, which I support as well....So for me the person in question is kind of 50/50 to me. Interesting play style and ideas, but needs to quit knocking everyone elses play styles. -
Who still uses Mosin (+LRS) for range kills?!
CJFlint replied to MarchmelloMan's topic in General Discussion
I do on my 3pp public avatar. Yes anything over say 200 to 300 meters it is ideal to hold your breath while firing and be in the prone position. Its really good to have the range finder too, it is really important to know your ranges, it is rough because you cant zoom but it does work so long as you make sure your target is centered. You can of course use the map for that as well. Also for me when I carry the mosin I like to have a good side arm. I don't like using the mosin for CQB at all. There are some that do...not me. The .357 is what I like, no mags needed, speed loaders are nice to have. I prefer not to carry 2 rifles, to easy to mis-place one of them, kind of a pain in the ass. Sway adds challenge but there are things you can do to cut down on it.
