  1. Do you know anything about video game development? I'm not trying to be rude or anything like that. There is a good reason I said what I said. Let me tell you. Normally when a game is being developed there is phases. There milestones conception, alpha and beta then release. Normally during alpha the public knows little about the game other then an ad campaign. Normally during this phase they will have a team of STEs or game testers normally quite well to test the game for them. They build data bases and log bugs. Then the developers fix. Then during BETA they will then release free copys to unpaid Beta testers. After that comes release.Its really rare to see a game like DayZ SA were they are selling copys before the game is finished. Its still in alpha! My feelings about this method are quite mixed to be really honest. The reason is the charging money for an incomplete game. Were having to deal with the growing pains of a game being built, which in all honesty I really don't think they should be charging money for. The only thing in my mind that makes it slightly excusable is the fact it is almost like an indie, and its kind of an unlikely success that came about from a game mod. If it wasn't for that it would be complete BS. That's why my patience with stable problems wares thin really fast. Experimental I expect to have issues that's no problem, its understandable. BUT they should at the min have "stable" be functional, and playable. To have it with serous game play bugs rendering not fun, is a dis service to there player base. Its the truth. So no I'm not there game tester. I play to play.
  2. They don't have to worry about it, the way it is now you can get you CHR wiped just by switching servers haha
  3. I read through there notes and it looks like they address a lot of problems. Lets keep our fingers crossed......and hope for a more stable stable. :)
  4. Here's were I'm at in regards to DayZ SA and this upcoming patch. I have had a great deal of fun playing DayZ SA and have played 100s of hours so far. It's an adventure, and its a really good concept for a game. I also feel the hole development of it and how it came about, has a real underdog rises to the top feel. I mean it started as ARMA mod. It's inspiring to see modders make good and do something like this. The game has a few serous bugs currently though, also its easy for people to exploit and in some cases hacked. I really think they need to address some of these things sooner rather then later before there reputation gets damaged. They are not the only survival sim on the block, in fact there is now a knock off dayz out now H1Z1. So I think the developers need to pay more attention to what people are saying and put a piority on fixing them and making it playable on stable. Exp everyone expects to be buggy, get it worked out on exp then put it on stable. Stable needs to be functional, minor bugs are expected, but not game killing bugs that cause loyal players to want to put the game down. So I am glad they are trying to correct some of this stuff. I'm all for it even if it wipes are CHRs, if it really is better for the game. Anytime they have too I say warn u 1st and do it, if it improves the overall finished game. Honestly I would prefer keep a CHR alive as possible, but in cases like this I understand.
  5. To be real honest with you I have only seen 2 hackers that I was certain of since I been playing. One was a map glitcher. and the other was a teliporter. The reason is most people are smart enough not to mess around with shady software. Mods are one thing, but Malware is another...vary bad thing for your CPU. But lets be really clear here there is a major difference between someone who exploits broken mechanics and someone who uses software to cheat...There is a big difference. Duping is exploiting, just like looking through walls in 3rd person.
  6. To me it does not matter one bit if they wipe my CHR in .49. DayZ has already wiped my CHR I have had alive for over month. So for me if they want to do something like that there is no better time then now. As far as hacking goes....I truely don't think duping counts as hacking....That's called exploiting. Hackers or cheaters use 3rd party "mall ware" to cheat in the game. Which by the way is really bad bad news to do. What these so called "hackers" or "cheaters" that use stuff like aimbot, teliport don't know is when they use these programs, they are giving up there IP to the real hackers. Its a messed up cycle of abuse. So at the end these "cheaters" or "hackers" may pay a serous price just to cheat in a game...its the truth.
  7. It's time like these when Im glad I have a ton of other games and I got my hands in other baskets. I can simply play something else for while. I love the concept of DayZ SA but ever since .47 its really not been fun at all. Main due to broken melee, broken zombies and CHR wipes. Its a toxic mix of bugs. If it takes them til next year to fix it, then fine...I'll pick it back up then. I don't like having to deal with serous game bugs when I have a nice beer buzz, after dicking around solving problems on CPUs all day at work...just to come home to see it in a game LOLOL. I do not play dayz because I'm a game tester, I play because I'm a video game player. If they want me to test the game for them, they best pay me LOL As far as melee goes I thought they fixed part of it in .48. Maybe I'm wrong. Seemed to work a bit better...aiming at least.
  8. From what I notice playing .48 for a short amount of time, is the melee bugs were not as bad as .47. As long as melee really does work, and there's not constent CHR wipes its playable. But Zombies really do need to be fixed. They should at least do some sort of temp fix. Crawlers were by far the worst when it came to down right broken mechanics, just take the stupid fuckers out if they don't work....simple. LOL You would think right? Then when they know they work put them back in then, maybe just have then on exp. Hopefully not as many CHR wipes when .49 is there too. I'm pretty much on a temp leave of absence until they get some of this stuff ironed out. I play to have fun, its just not fun when there's terrible bugs and CHR wipes.
  9. Ok so let me get this right. .49 they are going to wipe everyone's shiz nit and then correct dupping and some other issues. A Clean Slate. I'll wait til then to play DayZ SA again. Hopefully then it will be a little less bug ridden and I can have fun playing again. Looking forward to it.......I think.
  10. You know I really wish they would look into it, CHR resets every time is a game killer to me. I have seen it were you log off and you log back in then your CHR fresh spawn...then you quckly log back in and your CHR comes back.....But lately its something different, it just wipes every time, at least the last time I played. If they want to keep there player base they should really look into fixing this issue. I pretty much stopped playing cause of it....I sure I'm not the only one.
  11. Me too, in fact I reported it to the Troubleshooting thread, there was no response really on how to remedy it. I temp quite playing until I either figure out how to keep it from happening or they have some fix. For a while I thought I was the only one. I did see the part were someone was saying it had to do with fresh server restarts, but I'm not sure that's all there is to it...or is that it? My thoughts about DayZ SA currently..........Shits Broken! LOL

    whats the scariest moment you've had?

    I heard people get really overly excited or scared playing dayz and honestly never got it....serously..Or maybe they like to be afraid much like a horror movie...I'm always calm, having fun or really annoyed at broken zombies.. You pick I think a scary thought is if they don't fix those broken zombies, or some of these other game really bad bugs...Might have to move onto greener pastures.

    ....I have never been scared or afraid playing DayZ or felt any kind of real fear. I have been in life threatening situations and DayZ does not come close. .I my mind it is vary clear it is a game, but I could see how someone in a real life similar situation to DayZ would be vary afraid. But your vary safe playing, its not real that's really clear to me LOL Its not that immersive yet anyways. I think for me I have gotten a good surprise or a jolt here and there or excited, annoyed even and will say its pretty intense for a video game. A little bit of a rush from pvp yes. So I will say it has triggered an emotional responses, fear was not one of them.

    CHR Wipes Every time!

    OK WTF iis going with Dayz SA lately ? Its horrible since .47 unstable I ment (stable). Every time I play on stable or try to log onto a server it wipes my CHR every time today. Is anyone else seeing this? Is there a fix? Since .48 I have my CHR wiped every time I log out, on the stable...this no joke. Shits broken.

    I think I'm going just wait to play DayZ until these issues get fixed. Its not worth spending anytime playing, just to see these bugs. I hope they get it fixed, because I quite enjoyed it til .47. They should really look into this.
  16. Ok I need vary much need to ask this again. Because I have herd this mentioned many a couple times. How much of the bugs we are seeing regarding zombie weirdness (invis, going through walls, hitting at long rang) and have to do with bandwidth and server ping?? Is that all it is? Does anyone have a def answer? What I am thinking is DayZ SA is much much more effected by bandwidth then ever before. It maybe the cause of many of these bugs were seeing, more noticeble with zombies and melee. If its just ping related well that's simple. If thats really the case then the devs should have made it really clear before they released the patch....But its maybe a work around just to pick a server with low ping.
  17. This is interesting. I wonder if ping has anything to do with the bug were melee just doesn't work...were you cant even swing. I wonder if many of these bugs we are seeing are completely bandwidth and ping related. Because these bugs appear to happen sometimes and sometimes not. Not all of the time but often enough to be of notice. I wonder if this could be a good enough work for the time being.
  18. I think the reason people are so quick to say "Nerf" or call skill level into question is the vary name of this thread "Zombies a little OP again?". When it should be named "Zombies buggy again? and WTF up with this melee crap?". LOL It makes it sound like the Zombies are over powerful and they are just beating up on players which is not what I saw. Which calls player skill into question. When the real issue is the Zombies are terribly bugged, and melee dosn't always work. Which has every thing to do with broken game mechanics, serous bandwith issues, and rushing out patches and content to quickly. And nothing to do with player skill what so ever. This is not the players fault. This is the problem that happens with pre releases. They are building the game as we play it. The reason, they don't want to pay software testers "game testers", could be that its an indie game and they just didn't have the budget for it. So everyone who plays DayZ is kind of an unknowing tester. My feeling about this is really mixed. It is really cool to watch it be developed right in front of our eyes. But then again, its something that normally game company's pay people to do before release, then in BETA they will go ahead and give free copys to "BETA" testers which are unpaid. DayZ SA is not doing that at all, so we will have to go through all the growing pains with the game.
  19. After playing last night, I don't think that the zombies are OPed. I think really glitchy maybe a much better word, or really buggy. When my melee weapon DID work it was a one hit deal, that was with a regular axe not even a fire axe. But they are buggy as all hell. Sometimes they can't go through walls and they work like they should, some times it doesn't. Some times they can hit you from really far away and sometimes not. Sometimes they are invis sometimes not. Sometimes melee weapons don't even swing when you need it too. With this said, for me I don't really even want to deal with zombies at all. In fact I don't really even want to play DayZ SA in its current state. Its a waste of time. I don't really trust the melee system or feel I can relly on it anymore. The zombies are completely bugged I sorry to say. Its a prefect storm to make not want to play, and wait. Its been this way since .47 stable. It has nothing to do with player skill, its bugs. I think in the future I'm going to wait and see what other people are saying about the state of DayZ before I pick the game back up after future patches. Just to save my poor avatar the trouble, and keep from wasting time. When it seems stable is stable I'll come back....I'm going to read closely to the known issues, to see if its worth playing or not. Otherwise its just a big waste of time, like a few hours...which is a lot for me cause my free time is limited.

    I bet all this stuff happening related to bandwidth and server connection ect, like your saying. It has to be. Because it really seems like sometimes its ok sometimes it terrible. Ping may have lo to do with it to. Whats the best way to tell if the server your about to log on to will have likely desync?? Cause DayZ seems to be way more effected by this then before.

    You know I was rather enjoying DayZ SA all the way til .47 stable. In .47 there was the whole melee bug that cause me too put it down and wait til the next patch. Today .48 hit stable and I came in with high hopes. To begin with my CHR was completely wiped. So I started over. Strike 1. This happened to me 2 times today. The melee bug is only partly gone, there is still the bug were you cant use your melee weapon. Invis zombies.....one more reason not to want to play.. Here's the thing that really is a game killer for me. You either have to worry about not being able to use your melee weapon or having your CHR wiped. Its got some pretty serous game killing bugs right now. Quite honestly I considering just quiting until its either finished or "Stable" is really stable. WTF happened? .46 I played through never seeing this crap. Patches before that seemed to be kind of ok, it was playable, just corky but good fun. Now its not really worth wasting any time playing...It takes several hours to get geared up decently with the stuff you want, just to have it wrecked or your CHR wiped. LAME as hell. I hate complaining but its so true....ALPHA I know LOL The Devs maybe I think are trying pump out to many new features at once, and there is though whole clause you agree to right when yous start. Im all for new features but not at the exp of game play on stable. If they got to slow down and correct some of this stuff, then they really should. Save the buggy shit for expermental, cause everyone gets there CHR wiped there anyways...No one plays there to survive its to see the new features and have fun. Stable should be like the word stable, and free of game killing bugs. Minor ones ok.

    The weird thing was is the devs were vary aware these bugs were in the game, but thought they were much rarer. They released .47 stable anyways. This much like the old latter death bug. Were you would try to climb a latter the you would get "You are dead"....those were the worst. LOL You couldn't eve loot your body cause you CHR was stuck up in there air. Honestly I think the melee bug is the worst I have seen yet. I really don't like shooting zombies it s a waste.
