    Off cource there is. The 3 health bars, there deffenently is survival parts to the game. There is avatar health, drinking, eating, crude yet existing 1st aid and now hunting. The avatar health system honestly I think is pretty good in its early state. There def is a reason for me at least to want to keep my avatar alive, well geared, healthy for long periods. Survival. Does this mean I just hide and don't pvp....no. But it does mean I'm careful and calculating. I don't play to die, I play to survive. When I pvp my additude is make the other guy die. Now is the survival system super complex.....not yet.....its just a little limited. But it will be a big factor, Dean Hall made vary clear it will be a huge part of the game. Currently persist servers are really pretty much broken. Hunting is still early on ect ect. It is in the game currently though. Regardless I want to see much more of it, then there is currently. I would love to see snow added too. Like extreme cold. I'm looking forward to it. I just hope it will not present shitty bugs in the short term. The funny thing about DayZ SA right I hate to say. Is it seems like you have to know just as much about broken mechanics and how to avoid being effected by them as you do tactics and survival. Its the fucked up truth of this thing we call alpha. I'm at the point now were I'm not even going to play when new patches hit stable anymore, until I see what bugs people seeing and if its worth playing. I almost didn't even play more then a couple hours during .47 and just now picked it back up in .48. I need to check out Exp. Just to give the instant gradifation players some credit, the game is sometimes not funtional enough at times to be taken that serously. I try too. But sometimes I find my self frustrated or falling out of my seat luaghing at some of the stuff Ive seen.

    I think with persist servers, weather effects, and many of the other things that will be added, we will see players having adapt there play styles. Instant barinzino gratification pvp will die down and survival will go up. Its will be a welcome change. I love that part of it and want to see allot more. I watched some of the DayZ TV live streamers, and honestly was abit shocked on how little some of them cared about what the heath status of there avatars were in. Or even what kind of gear they had...They have a fatalist instant gradifaction aditude toward dayZ...."Well I'm going to die anyways so fuck it". I did not get the impression they were really all that good of players really at all, just instant pvp and thats it really. It seems many who play DayZ perfer instant grafication North East, pvp really. And they don't care about the survival part of the game what so ever. Ive known of players that would die sometimes 2 or 3 times a night pvping. At that point its not even a survival game anymore is it. But sometimes deep down I understand why, its becuase the game dosn't have all its mechanics yet. Theres bugs ect ect....So maybe they think whats the point. To me its the wrong additude. I just don't try to survive one night, or days...I try to survive for monthes, and even pvp on packed servers...carefully. Thats my goal. I more afraid of game bugs LOL then other players....serously.

    Is Rain Going to be the new night?.......I think that all depends on how much of an effect it has, and how easy it is to counter. After looking at the .49 notes it appears temp will play a factor too. I will admit I avoid night servers for the most part now days...I don't mind dusk or dawn...I guess its just out of lazyness. Funny thing is I played more on night servers when I 1st started out of fear of other players then I do now. I found it easier to loot, so long as I new were I was. If say you get hypothemic or cold, and could just go inside and light a fire warm up. It really would not be bad. If it is something that takes a while to take effect and fairly simple to fix by just going inside for a while in front of a fire. That dosn't sound bad and may add a interesting new aspect to the game. I already am getting used to making fire places to cook meat, Its kind of fun. So long as the effects of cold and wet dosnt just happen in a few seconds, I'm just fine with it. If this is going to be the new norm I would like to see ponchos be added, a bright yellow rain coat is not what I would want.

    Magnum vs. 1911 which is better

    I like both. I prefer using the mosin as a primary. I sometimes carry the mosin and with an AKM in my hands or vice versa....this can be a pain in the neck..because I have to put one of them down to use objects. So almost always I try to get one or 2 pistols. 45 Colt and 357 honestly are my 1st pick, I also like the FNX 45 too. So I don't have to lug around 2 rifles...if that makes since The 357 does not have attachments....yet. But I always try to pick up 1 or 2 speed loaders. These really help during reloads. I have used it close up pvp, and it works great so long as you got good shot placement. It only has 6 rounds remember. But it is a nasty gun that packs a punch...it fucking works strait up dirty hairy stats! The colt is also vary good, its the same thing, you do not have 15 round mags it has 7 round 8 with 1 chambered, and in rapid fire it can go quickly. So you have to make sure you aim in and make your shots count. Attachments are a huge perk. Also for the 45, not only have lots of ammo also try to have several mags which you have to find. It a real pain in the ass to have to fill a mag in the heat of pvp so have at least 2 mags for it. Honestly I will not pass up either. If I had to chose between a lovely engraved 45 with all attachments and mags, vs a 357 no attachments and just speed loaders....I would with out thinking take the 45. The 357 I really want to see with attachments...But because of my play style I often carry 2 pistols, sometimes 3 as crazy as the sounds. So why not both of them LOL! Because the mosin not good in a close quarter fight, so much of the time I use a relly on a pistols and the best ones if I have to fight close up. So I really think your not going wrong either way really. Off the subject...I recently found a long horn.....I kept it just because its interesting...nothing more...you guys mess with one of those? I'm going to use mine for hunting or shooting zombies for fun. Not good for pvp but its neat.

    death & your items

    Dead body's stay for 10 minutes from what I seen. If your in a group and you die, one of your trusted friend's take your gear off, and set it off to the side and guard you gear til you are able to make it to where you died at...your good. If you do that then you just have to worry about a restart. I have pulled this off a few times, it works...if you group is holding ground and able to stay with your stuff. Its not to hard to do it. If your by your self your pretty much fucked unless you can reach your body in 10 minutes. If I die at the hands of another player palying solo, I pretty much would just write it off, that's why I try to not to die at all costs solo. If your were shot by another player, the odds of your stuff still being there is slim. Most KOS's are dicks, they quickly loot your dead body, some will kill you then hide your body...and even wait around for you to return and shot you again LOL seen it happen Here's whats really fucked up about DayZ, Much of the time if they don't get a good head shot in...and they shoot you multiple times....your gear is ruined when you die...So when die at the hands of a bandit or whom ever, its pretty much just for a kick or thrill for them or a rush...and that's it..nothing more nothing less. They don't get anything out of it really, nothing really. Yet it goes on all the time.
  6. These are just some simple sniper rifle related suggestions. 1st the mosin burlap rap was a vary nice add. Just yesterday I got a burlap sack and made the rap and added grass to it. I put it on my mosin and noticed it even with the grass the rap was a vary light tan almost white color, which does not help camo...defeating the purpose of having it. Even with grass added I don't think it helps camo. I suggestion is to darken the color of the rap it self to a darker tan same as the color of the improvised pack. 2nd. I really like the CZ rifle....its really kind of limted. Right now I view it as a new spawn gun, that I'll discard once I find something with more options. But I want to see more options for it. My suggestions is simple, allow multi color camo, allow ability to mount the long range scrope, allow the option to make a rap for it, allow the bipod to be attached 3rd another simple one....can we attach the bipod again to the mosin........Please.. Its vary possible some of this stuff is already in the works, but wanted to suggest it anyways.

    A Couple Sniper Rifle Suggestions

    I would like to see attachments for the blaze as well, same with the magnum. The more modifications the merrier. I do agree with Evil M too that attachments should be rare, but they should be availible. Hunting_scope_12x sounds interesting.. When play I always gravitate more towards sniper over solo style game play style. I much of the time I'm alone so I relly on camo a great and spend much of my time in wooded areas, every bit I take advantage of....one of the did not care for the burlap rap as much as I would have liked. I will use it but it needs to be darker. I would like to see more camo options even a gilly suit. More sniper tools basiclly....craft able even better. Master Blaster Lifts embargo. ha ha Thanks!

Ok Tonight I decided to give stable a play through and found some things out. 1) As long as I played below 50 ping, its pretty much less buggy.....some people may know this already but its worth mentioning.. I did not see any melee problems and zombies seemed some what functional. Did they run through walls some of them yes...but there was no invis ones and killing them was about the same as before .47. A one hit deal with no aiming problems that I saw. What I aimed at was a hit. So this is good. 2) Persistent enabled servers do not appear to save at all period. Either player gear or anything for that matter. Every time I logged in I was a fresh spawn in a different location. This is just my observation. ALTHOUGH on non persistent enabled servers I was able to play normally with the game running pretty much like it always has. I logged in many times to see this, and from my end it appears non enabled servers are just fine. Also my CHR was saved, so my original observation was wrong...only persistant servers seems to be broken and does not seem to save anything what so ever. My conclusion is just to avoid those server types til its fixed. What is everyone else exp with it? Anything else worth mentioning? Is this about what everyone else is seeing?

  10. Are you able to have the same gear and go from a persistent server to a non persistent server? I cant for some reason. I only seem to retain my gear on non persistent servers, if I go to persistent servers, I'm a fresh spawn every time.....its weird..Then when I go back to none persistent server I have my saved avatar right were I left off.

    The Wipe is upon us

    DayZ SA to me is a game about survival period. My goal while playing dayz is to survive danger and keep my avatar alive as long as possible period. I have kept avatars alive for over a month. Surviving pvp, elements you name it, and I have been successful at it in the past. When I go into pvp I go into the situwation thinking I'm going to make the other guy die, and with the hopes to keep me and my friends alive period if they are with me. It's not that I'm afraid to die in game, but its that it is not my goal what so ever to die, its to survive. Unless I feel like being a fresh spawn troll LOL Which can be fun. With that said, I really don't get why anyone would invite CHR wipes, unless it was to benefit the over all outcome of the game. Meaning like a patch were they have no choice to wipe your CHR. I'm ok with it and understanding of a wipe under those reasons.. But to hear people saying they should wipe all the time is kind of annoying. Unless it benefits the game over all outcome it should not be done period. Maybe those people don't understand Dayz SA, or what it's about. Let me remind you, its about survival. PvP or no PvP. What your doing is giving the devs an excuse not to address server issues and cut corners.....They will think, "the players don't care why should we address it." Its an excuse for the game to suck. Quit giving them excuses, if something broke bitch about it now while they making it. Tell them so they will fix it! Don't ridicule players for mentioning broken mechanics on the forums period either. If its a game play skill thing then that's different. We need to let them know what we think when something is broke, so when the game is done, it will be free of shitty bugs. Otherwise its going to be a half functional game when its done.

    Blanks & Jams

    I will sign off on this idea if its realistic. A dirty weapon is what causes a jam or bad parts. Some rifles like the M-16 A2 is really prone to jams if it is not cleaned regularly then others. When I was in the service we did a quick field strip every few 100 rounds, oil the bolt and punch the boar. Then when in the rear we would take the completely apart and clean them for hours, even dipping parts in solvents. The M16, works great so long as its cleaned regularly, if not you will have problems with it. On the flip side you have rifles like the AK-47 which does not need to be cleaned as nearly much. In fact it is a vary reliable rifle, that can be fired with mud in it. So I think it should for realism sake vary from weapon to weapon. There already is cleaning kits in the game, could be vary possible they already have plans for it. In fact I would say more likely then not. As far as dud rounds go, my time in the service I only seen it happen a few times. Its kind of rare, but can happen. So maybe if the rounds you use are pristine there's a vary rare chance, but if they are worn are damaged its far more likely. So realistic! As far as blanks go.......I would not be apposed to having them, but why really? I guess you could use them to scare other players, or lure zombies maybe.....ok fuck it add it. But 1st, as much as I really love the sounds of this, I really want to see the existing mechanics in the game be ironed out 1st. The game is really corky right now and that's putting it nicely. Lets let them get some of these bugs fixed then add the finer details in. Just some thoughts..

    About last night (and the zombie horde)

    This is just me but here was how I think they should handle the current zombie situation. As it stands now we know some zombies work the way they should, they path find, they can't go through walls. When I last played I was able to lock zombies in a room even. Then there are some zombies that just don't work the crawlers. They seem to be able to go through walls ect ect. Then there are some upright zombies that seem to be able to go through walls. They are broken, or just don't have there game mechanics or scripts yet. For these zombies that are broken or don't work yet, just have them on experimental and not on stable. Until they work correctly. Simple not brain surgery. And why add tons of them if they don't even work yet. I also don't like the idea of them re-spawning over and over in the same spot...but I guess I can live it for now.

    Mosin Sniping is broken

    I'm hoping 4.9 works well...... Mosin was always my fav rifle. I also wanted to give the burlap rap a try. Using the mosin I learned it shots off to the side after like 300 meters, so you have to adjust. I love the mosin becuase it was a technical art at long ranges. I really enjoyed picking a good hide, then figuring my distances, its an art. Plotting exscape routes, I also likes sniping out of buildings too LOL. Were lucky they didn't add wind and bullet drift. But clothing I remember had increased damage resistants. That got added in one of the more recent patches. Also why the hell did they make it so there cant be a bi pod attached, I don't know. That really made big difference prone. As far as sway goes and breathing it makes it harder yes....but its total realism, there something to be said for that. When .46 came out we can chop down trees....so when it said any of my limbs were in pain...I would simply shop a tree down and craft splint..I did that a few times...to save the morphine for when I really needed it. It does effect allot of things having a limb in pain. Regardless I'm trying hard to be optimistic that much of this stuff will be ironed out..I really dont like being a nay sayer but last couple patches kind have got me a little bit bewildered ....how long is the question I guess.
  16. I started playing .48 right after they released it. I logged in started playing started gearing up like I normally do. I noticed the melee was working properly which was a plus. After a while the server went to the red restart timer. So I went and found a different server and I was a fresh spawn, then I tried again fresh spawn at a different location.....I tried again pretty much the same thing happened again once more. Pretty much every time not kidding. So I stopped playing, havn't bothered to log in since .48 release. I just don't want to waste a bunch of time just to have it happen again period. I even put a post on the troubleshooting part of the forums...no real answer and no help what so ever. I not making this up. I think the cloud just was not saving my avatar what so ever. No matter what server I logged onto it seemed like. I never seen this before. I'll keep what you said in mind, about switching servers. I think in my case it could have been some sort of weirdness with the cloud it self. Maybe. Also after .47, I was effected with the melee bug, were aiming was pretty much not working. I also saw the bug were you can't swing what so ever. But it seemed to be corrected in .48 So between those to bugs, it really sucked allot of wind out of my sails and fun out of the game for me. I have play DayZ for several months now, 100s of hours. Solo or grouped and what have you. I have seen bugs, and learned to live with them. Staying away from ladders and got used to zombies running though walls and floors even. I still played and never complained once. To me it was just a alpha cork. But this time it was like a prefect storm of bugs. I going just wait til .49, keep in mind server switching and hope for the best next time. I'm also going to watch server ping like fucking hawk...aperentlly dayz is really effected by it now. So I'm slightly optimistic....we will see:/
  17. Fine...whatever. But I tell this much if shits broken as it was this patch as it is the next one. I'm done playing til they do the full release. I not going to fight about it, I have other games to play, not even worth it. Just not going to play it. Simple... To be honest with you I only played .48 for about 2 hours. In the 2 hours I had my CHR wiped 2 times. So I just stopped playing, I don't have time for that type of BS. DayZ SA is a time consuming game as it is, with the serous bugs its just not worth me playing what so ever. AGAIN I don't mind bugs in Expeirmental, I go there to see the new items, and I have low expectations on how it will preform. Most of what I have said on in this thread has to do with the state of Stable. I will not say more til next patch, I read the notes, It sounds like they are addressing some of the really bad bugs I saw, so when it comes out I'll try it. I could care less if the do CHR wipe or not...makes no difference to me at this point. If it works stable is functional.....Great!....if not I'm not then I'll just play other games....End of debate.
  18. This is correct. You are right. But I'm not saying I want to be complete or finished. What I'm saying is it has to work on stable, it has to be stable, free of serous bugs that basicly wreck game play, CHR wipes and free of broken mechanics. I completely understand the game is not complete. From everthing I understand all new additions to the game are put on Exp 1st and ran through testing also its a chance for us to see new items that are going to added. There I expect things to not to always work right. Then when it works correctly they put it on stable. I think people are mis completely understanding what I'm saying. The reason I am posting so much on here currently and going on about bugs, is because of my last few game exp with dayz. The times I have played since .47 have been pretty much not fun. Between the bad melee bug in .47 then my CHR being wiped every time in .48 I'm pretty convinced there are some pretty serous problems with DayZ SA right now. I also I have read through other forums and talk to people on steam who have pretty much given up on it til next patch. That's were I'm at I stopped playing. There no denying it. Stable should be stable period. Imagine being a new player who bought the game today, and it wasn't working correctly..What do you think they think? Disclaimer or no disclaimer, if stable is unplayable or has such crappy bugs its simply not fun, or wipes your chr every other time you log in, do you think dayz for one second will get good reviews. The answer to that is no way in hell. Its the last I have to say about it. I'm not going to explain my comments or what ever, I'm not going to fight about it. It's not worth the time. I already stoped playing and I'm going wait til .49 comes out and hopefully it will fixed.
  19. From my vantage point the melee bug was corrected somewhat in .48, I did not encounter the aiming bug like in .47. I did not see it, if its still there our not I don't know. I played .48 for only a couple hours, I stopped because the cloud kept wiping my CHR. I did see the bug were you are rendered unable to swing or use your melee weapon. That one is still there. DayZ is more effected by ping then ever. Also crawler zombies are either don't have there mechanics in place yet or there just broken....I think they should just take them out of stable til they work correctly.
  20. And the reality is all of us are in the same boat. So that's why I don't like fighting on the forums, believe it or not. We like playing it and love the concept. That's why we are quick to call out bugs we see. LOL I totally did not intend on getting into a long winded debate either. Really all I wanted to do is just post what I though and that's it. I think smart developers pay attention to there base. I really strongly feel stable really should be stable, one reason for this any new player who plays its the 1st exp they have with dayz. Should it be hard core simulated survival yes, but it should be a functional one. It's DayZ SAs show piece, the games rep is one the line. That is why I think the whole, "It's Alpha Get Over It" debate only goes so far in regards to stable.
  21. Sure. I it does really need to be corrected. You see what I'm seeing. I don't say anything because I hate DayZ or don't like playing it. I love playing DayZ SA and the arma/ofp series. That's why I bring it up. I think people get the wrong impression sometimes.
  22. Your just a troll! I already did take a break LOL I have only played it 3 times since .47 to be honest. Its lame in its current state, due to bugs nothing more. I enjoyed it all the way til .46. Give me an Fing break with that can't handle it BS, I have played DayZ for 100s of hours now through several patches. These are the worst ones...with bugs I see it one way you see it another...I'm not responding to anymore of your comments ya troll you.
  23. I do quite honestly. Stable currently is not worth playing, it has terrible bugs since .47 and .48. I say it again experimental is understandable to have game bugs...what ever not in stable. It's even understandable to have minor bugs, so long as its play. If you find it ok that quite frankly that's your problem. I serous don't want to hear your "Its Alpha Get Over It" BS. I know better. I'm not going to debate about it. If they keep this up with stable in it's current stable DayZ SA will get a bad rep really fast and fail. There's already a knock off out, they better get there shit together. I really don't want to see it fail one bit, that's why I mention this stuff. I certainly hope .49 irons out allot of this.
  24. Stable should be functional, playable, enjoyable for what it is and free of serous bugs period. I not going to fight with you all day about it. If you think its ok then quite frankly that's on you. I don't.
  25. My point is they should have stable be playable simple as that! I do not want to here any of this "its alpha get over it" stuff. Stable is pretty bad right now, that's pretty lame. Minor bugs I look past, but there is serous bugs in stable currently. There's no excuse for it. Experimental its more understandable to have issues.
