Thats ok....Its been hard for me to take dayz that serous lately since the broke fix. Last night I was horsing around and jumped off one of those sky scrapers apartment down in Cherno just for the hell of it. It was pretty interesting getting all the way the top. Was pretty asome!

Hey man! Light a god damed fire your avatar is freezing his or her balls off! You need to do that every 15 minutes! Don't you know that! JESUS CHRIST AL MIGHTY!!! :D On a serous note...if the don't change the weather system soon, and fix axe dur. DayZ may turn into hords of players standing around a fire. Becuase you know are avatars are not what they appear, they are really not human, they are lizard people....get it cold blooded lizard people ha ha.

This is weird becuase, I find more then enough ammo with in just a few hours. Normally my delema is finding a ammo box to put the ton of ammo I find in to save space. My last life I had to drop ak mags becuase I didn't have enough room to carry them all. Normally when I gear up, which is a phase of my game play, I will normally have more ammo then I will ever use. So I don't ammo is a rare what so ever. In some towns there isn't much, but look at Novo....there tons there. Military bases its coming out of the walls.

I did not know that, thats good info to know that you can use a stone to sharpen. Its dosn't sound that effective, but at least its something. I would like to see a sharpening block, kind of like what have in your kitchen or carry with you camping ect. Something that could bring the cond to say worn. Im serous my axe the other night lasted 3 hours of game play. 4 trees and some maybe 4 dead zeds. That was the life of my fire axe....no shit. And with the broken weather system the way it is, you have to use the axe way more often to get wood. So were talking once a day you need a new axe, or you have to carry a stone....:/ That from the sounds of it, just keeps the axe barely usable with the stone picked up off the ground or gained with a pick axe.

Ha Ha....It was a joke busting chops angry rant. The reality is there is problems with this current hot fix, I'm sure it will get tweaked down the road. The big thing to me with this hot fix is they need make it so when your really active in game your avatar generates heat. If your just still or not moving for long periods you get colder. That to me would correct it. I used to play "Pirates of the Burning Sea" it was a pirate MMO, I was always I mean always joking around and trolling both on the forums and in the game. It was part of the game...I kind of miss it sometimes.

What I find really strange is, I thought the temp system worked ok right after .49 hit stable. It was missing some things like generating heat by running. It wasn't worth complaining about. .49 was probably one of the better patches that hit stable as far in a functional since. Then the hot fix came......:/..... Why in the hell did they screw it all up with this hot fix with these exaggerated warped weather effects broken body temp system? Whos dumb ass idea was that? I don't really wanna hear the "Its Alpha" excuse....becuase they got it right after stable patch .49 the 1st time...then screwed it up with a hot fix. This is pure Half Hazard Asshatery Just dosn't make any logical since. Makes me really think there someone on the development team who really dosn't have a clue about out door survival or was just done for the sole reason of making the game more of a pain in the ass, with out any regard to realism. Sometimes I sware, they really lose me sometimes. Just don't get it. What are you guys doing? And for PETE sakes!!! Whats with this stupid "you can only chop down 4 trees" with an axe bull shit! Come on! Jesus H Christ! and of rant! See you guys next patch:)

I played for 3 hours last night, and was on the move pretty much the whole time. I was fully kited. I also had 3 green bars. After I warmed up, I run at full speed, pretty much my avatar was back to being cold again after about 15 mintues, and the temp droped after that. Now did it go up or down slightly...maybe. But it was def going downward trend mostly...this is while running at full speed. 3 fires I lite in 3 hours, just to lose the cold bar.... Now all of this was after yesterdays hot fix. Before that the weather system more seemed reasonable. I'm pretty sure server temps or effects may vary....not 100% sure currently. That is interesting that you noticed that. That is something to keep in mind. Even more reason to be mindful of what servers we log into.

For me its not extreem if your still and you get cold...thats normal it should be that way. If your running at full speeed fully kited, your avatar should be generating heat. Not droping temp while running full speed, fully kitted, healthy, above freezing....that just dosn't make since. That really needs to get adjusted.

I think allot of the game needs to be tweaked. It has the componants, its just really rough. It could vary well be there it will be a really good survival game and they just don't have all the peices yet and peices the do have some of them need adjusting. Best way I can think of it. I'm optimistic to a degree. But I'm quick to call out something that is really broken, or needs some real tweaking.

Before this hot fix I used fires to cook meat. Last night infact I quite happy the 1st time I needed to light a fire becuase I had meat to cook. It seemed kind of cool, I was cooking meat I hunted and warming up. But then when I left, it running at full speed a rapidly lost body temp. The temp was not below freezing. With in an hour I had to lite another fire. Then an hour later another one. I was kitted pretty well too. I do like the fact they added it, I just think some of the effects should be adjusted based on what your doing, if your really active, or still for long periods. It don't have to be 100% real. You know as a fellow axe lover, I would be ok with axe blades being degraded if we have a method to sharpen it back up. Right now we have disposible axes. I would love to see sharpening be added, they really should put that in. Similar to a sewing kit.

Look guys. I want the whole thing with DayZ. I want realistic survival and good pvp too. The whole thing. So I'm not complaining, I stating what I think based off game play, vs my own knowlege. The game is still being made so its important to tell them this stuff.

I have used axes quite abit in my life time. Most of the last quite a long time. Decades. Your right they do need to be sharpened from time to time. But not after 4 logs, thats about what I got out of my DayZ axe. I would love to see a sharpener be added and slower axe degrading. So I'm somewhat agreed on that. As far as the weather goes. I was a Marine Combat engineer in the mid 90s. I have been through some of the toughest training in the US military. I have survived in vary cold climates, and been on forced marches up to 20 miles in one day. We did not stop and light fires ever hour LOL. In fact it was pretty rare we ever did. In fact even in below freezing temps during humps (long hikes) with 100 pounds of gear we would heat up, and even get hot and have to shed clothing. When your stoped is when you "cool fast". So this system just dons't really add up. Its warped and lacks realism. To me its mechanics seem to be made by people who quite honestly just don't really know the realitys. Or just want to make things hard for the sake of making things hard...no other reason. Or its just not complete yet. I don't know. But I do know it really needs to adjusted in some areas.

Has any one tried the gas stove to try to stay warm? I wonder if it still burns meat.....I kind of like the gas stove and lamp. But its not worth lugging around if it serves no purpose.

All of us want realism and a challenge. That’s cool. We want DayZ to be hard. But this stuff just doesn’t make since. Look I served time in military, and did mountaineering when I was younger and will tell based of that. This system is a vary exsadgerated weather system, and warped if you compare it with reality. There is no question. Maybe if it were well below freezing. Last night I found out the system is just not working all that well. 2 issues that make this bad that I ran into. -Roughly 15 minutes after being a normal temp I was cold and my temp was dropping. There was no warming back up. The only way to warm up was to light a fire. My avatar was fully geared with Gurka suit, the new mask gloves, mil boots. Running did not help warming back up. The only way that I was able to warm up was build a fire. In 3 hours of game play I had to build 3 fires. No choice. My avatar looks like a mammal but apparently now is a tropical reptile. -Fire axes appear to degrade after each tree you chop down......this one I found really stupid. The fire axe I had I chopped a grand total of 4 trees down with. Then it was ruined. This is lame. They need to either slow the degrading down allot, or take it out altogether. I would never buy in axe at home depot that can only chop down 3 or 4 trees or logs then it’s done. So these mechanics just don't add up. I'm personally not playing again tile it’s fixed, which I think they probably will. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Not complaining just doesn’t feel like wasting a bunch of time. Here’s what I think need to be fixed. 1) We need to be able to lite smaller fires not requiring logs. This will make it easier for players to stay warm. Just with sticks and rags. 2) There needs to be a alt way to starting fires other the matches....Like the method were you rubbing sticks to start one...maybe requiring some time to do. 3) Fire axes should not be degraded after each tree you chop down. In fact in the house I grew up in, we used the same axe to chop wood with my entire child hood...DayZ axes suck LOL 4) Your avatar should generate heat if he or she is moving. Cooling at a fast rate while running fast in an above freezing climate, fully clothed, just doesn’t make since if you’re healthy. Currently this system I lump in with the .47 melee bug. It’s bad enough to make me want to hold off on playing tile the next patch. I get what they are going for, a hard core survival system. But some of these mechanics are just not adding up. Unless we just don't want realism and prefer just to make things hard for are selves for no reason. But this is all part of Alpha, and they are still making the game so I'll give them some slack on that part, its all part of the process. So really this is all just my feedback on what I saw, and what I think needs to be adjusted.

The thing is even with this...its kind of survivable but axes also break after maybe 3 or 4 tree knocked down. Yes fire axes. When I went into it tonight I was confident. Even with the quick cooling. But then I was unable to lite fires. ....due to my axe breaking over a few uses on trees. Your going to have to go into towns to seeks out new ways of starting fires at some point.....I was desperate tonight. I lost the ability to keep warm and was far from anything. I was forced to run to to what I thought was the most likely place to find a way. Desperation kills. I felt I did the best I could lol Gurka currently keeps you dry....not warm. Not sure what does right now other then fire.

I had a Gurka suit...still got cold....the only jacket currently that may help is a down jacket....maybe wool too. I used fire to stay warm for say short periods of time. It a new delema we have to figure out. I had Gurka pants and jacket. The new face mask. Mil boats and gloves. I got cold in 15 min....now this is after the hot fix today. The hot fix increased the effects of weather. As far as civ down Jackets or Wool havn't tried those yet....but those are bad in rain. If they keep it this way.....we got some stuff to figure out.....trends will change for sure.

What was crazy is I went to 2 mil spawns no problem...same as normal. Collected my gear last couple days. Normally that can be challenging....that seemed the least of my worry's tonight. lol Fires! I need fire..... I was weird I was three green bars the whole time norm I wouldn't even have been worried. Even the keeping warm part wasn't hard until my axe broke. I tried the stick and rags only....didn't work to ignite. Was like fuck! My axe is ruined.....My only option....go to a fire house lol I was not the only one thinking that in fact the place was loaded. I got into a died for an axe lol I did get one then died 5 minutes latter shooting. For some reason my fire place kit would not ignite without a log added. I wonder if now that we have the temp. May we should be able to lite a smaller fire if we have too. Not have to chop a whole tree down. Or have a gas stove....if that even work yet. Does it? You got about 15 min til you get cold after warming thats what I learned tonight well geared..you can make it a while cold but you only have so long....So tonight 3 fires in 3 hours of game play. I did cook some stakes at one of them so that was duel use. LOL...I guess.

It was the hot fix. Tonight I lit 3 fires to stay warm. I collected a pretty good kit too. The last time I needed to get warm my fire axe broke. I had 3 green bars, everything was good. But my avatar was getting colder and colder. That was what killed me. I needed a new axe so I ran into town to get one then got into a bad fight and died. I think I would have not had to run into town if it wasn't for the reason of getting an axe, I would have survived much much longer. Had everything else I needed. Went out with a fight. Good! Fire axes only have so many uses it seems to chop down trees. Then they are ruined. It was in good cond when I got it...so I'm pretty sure thats what ruined it. Knocking trees down Its harder after the hot fix. The way it is now your going to get fucked over at some point. Geared or no geared. As far as staying warm goes no matter what you have to have a way of starting a fire. May a gas stove or and axe. Somehow. So maybe some alt ways like rubbing sticks. Something needs to give. Longevity is in staying warm is my new delema. I had full Gurka and the new mask. Plus gloves. Mil boots. Plenty of food and water. Honestly a good build from what I have done before. Away from fires I made it 5 minutes maybe 10 til I was cold. Running or no running my avatar drop in temp...so fires I needed prob once an hour. It was interesting for a while.

Its a great resource. I use the wiki and the DayZ TV map, all the time. Good stuff. Most of the stuff is on there. Sometimes after patches it takes them a while to add the new stuff. Also DayZ TV it self has some good resources and videos. I play solo and pvp, I survive for sometimes weeks even monthes with out dieing. I can tell yes this game is not 100% realistic, its 50 50. Good since and survival knowlege is good, but you really have to know how the game works in order to be successful. As far as eating berrys go in game, I don't normally bother. I hunt for food. The time I did eat berrys I looked it up on the wiki 1st, becuase the devs were pretty clear some of them could kill you. Just like roten fruit. Even worse.

ITS A GAME! GET OVER YOUR SELF! READ THE WIKI!....emk....Its not 100% real and theres game mechanics to be aware of. If your running around throwing up in game, getting sick, pooping your pants and dieing from eating berrys you got some learning to do about the game it self. Wilderness survival? HUH? Well your "wilderness survival" skill seem to be not helping you in game.....Your over thinking everthing, and failing to understand the basic game mechanics. Read the wiki. Regardless this is all out of a good laugh. So no hard feelings emk? Im just jerking your chain

Pay a visit to the wiki and read up on the game mechanics. Its not 100% realistic, but is fairly realistic.

To add abit more, from what I noticed its def more something to contend with when your a fresh spawn. It makes it seem like your situation is seem more credical. This is cool. I found it added a bit more challenge to being a fresh spawn. Once I geared up properly, its really not that big of a deal. In fact its just something kind of in the back ground.
