I am pretty sure it is netting and burlap sacks. I almost 100% certain netting itself is a completly new item in .51, that can be found in garages and civ loot spawns I'm pretty sure. I havn't been on exp too much, those servers are hard to get on becuase of the new truck. For the hat its 1 burlap 1 netting, same for the rifle. The suit......I think it might require more. BUT you have to give up your back pack to wear the main suit peice. Thats were you either have to decide wether you just don't mind not having a pack OR want to store it on a persist server.

Well I think "snipers" or overwatch players are getting a really bad rap on this thread, which shows complete lack of knowlege. Infact much of the time I played over watch, I was helping team mates a great deal, by either giving them early warning, scouting, or firing on players that were up to no good were my freinds were unable to hit. Its also a great way to pin players down as well. Long range rifles are a vary powerful tool in group pvp. Also in stealthy solo game play, yes yes I play alone much of the time. I much prefer to have allot of space between me and whom ever is around. I also like the abilty to check towns, miltary bases/camps ect before entering them. If theres anyone there that apears to be a threat I can take them out, with out them even knowing were the shot came from if I have to. Honestly having the mosin keeps me alive much longer in game. The reason, I can check really well before entering. I can get the drop on other players before they can me. Also the mosin dosn't require mags just rounds. Its custom too. Great for hunting perposes too. Its basicly a scout/sniper gun with the LRS. So the mosin is not just for KOSing lol it has many uses. You have to understand what that is. Another thing to consider here guys, is at short range, players with mosin are at a huge disadvantage too. Its bolt action and fires vary slow. It will probably be the case for future sniper rifles as well. Infact if you don't kill the with the 1st shot, your prob going to die if the person your facing is well armed. So you can pay a huge price for having all that range....ya gotta know what your doing. So its always good to have a side arm. I used the 357 or 45 for that. So don't go knocking something you don't quite understand so quickly guys. This happens way to often on the forums. The guy just wanted his question ansered.

That sounds asome then! I would be much more willing to go with the full suit if, there was a place for me to store my crap. Although I could just use the head peice and hide under a fur tree to cover the rest.... I only messed with persistants on a limited bases becuase I don't wanna lose my stuff...as long as it works I'm going to start using it.

I need to hop on exp. The servers are always packed to the ceiling, and hard to even get on though. After reading about the ghillie suit I def will ubtain at least the head peice and rifle rap. As far as the torso peice, I may not make that part becuase you cant carry a back pack with it. Persist would have to really work well before I want to do that. This new improvised gear fit my play style like a glove though.

Sorry you have not really got the responce you wanted. The SVD, is coming soon. I think if it isn't .51 it will be .52. There is also the CZ with hunting scope coming up. With in a month or so there will be 3 or 4 options of rifles to pick from. The steyr aug maybe a borderline sniper rifle as well. Mosin is a great rilfle and has quite a long range, it was at one point far more deadly. It got nerfed, the bi-pod was taken away and sway was added. So it takes much more skill then it did at one point. As far as people dising "snipers" or you for bringing up that you play as a "sniper", Im not sure what to tell you. People tend to dis other peoples play styles on the forums, don't take it personal. Sometimes people want something to blame there own ingame failures on, instead of checking the selves and making changes for there own good. There is allot of tention becuase probably allot of them were victims of snipers ingame. The forums is filled with stuff like that I'm sorry to tell you.

did you go all grey and blurry?

Yeah decided to to remove that from my post and just stay on the hydration health topic. But yes many streamers don't keep there avatars that healthy, and there a ton of players who don't. Infact I was talking to a player on Team Speak last weekend who was a pvp die hard, he said that he thinks dayz is a pvp game only and that its too getting to hard to just surive now....I think theres allot of people that don't think it should be a survival game..more of a pvp 1st game..Theres almost 2 schools of thought. I try to respect it, but there comes a point were you have to know DayZ is a survival game 1st pvp Game second. Infact pvp is just something you have to do when someone gets in the way of you surviving. Many players pvp 1st and don't care about surival. This will become harder in the coming patches I think. It will get to a point were you either learn the survival aspect, or your not going to make it that long.

The problem is, is many players are used to running every were at full speed. Hualing ass every where all the time. It now destroys you boots faster and causes you avatar to over heat. I have not over heated once in .50. What I do is run at a slower pace jogging, only speeding up in wide open areas. Or I sprint just untill I get the "I am rapidly warming up" then slow down for a while. It takes longer to get were going but you will never over heat. Also I think running slower helps your boots last longer too. Also drink lots of fluids and keep the hydrated bar lite up at all times. This sounds really funny but you in game avatar now has to take breaks lol. You cant just run your avatar at full speed to the ground anymore. Your avatar is kind of like a pet, you gotta feed, water and make sure your avatar is healthy. Being heathy with 3 green bars with good temp, will really improve your odds of surival against zombie attacks and pvp.

Medic here. Everyone is starving to death

Yep yep! I have seen that. Thats a none persist loot glitch.....like x-mas in dayz lol Man oh man.....I went to NWAF and saw that.....my god...LOL thats when a player realises there really only so much you can take with you. And players avatars are starving to death...... -

This is vary true in regards to .50. .50 by default has allot of loot, its the persistant servers that at times have no loot what so ever, so check it. I have had no issues finding any loot, infact I think .49 was a much harder patch to survive in. The only part you have to watch and are worth noting is the .50 is boot ware, and over heating (which takes along time of sprinting at full spead to take effect.) Otherwise its much easier surviving .50, then the freesing ass cold of the .49 patch, were I at times had to lite a fire once an hour. LOL Infact there is in some cases the loot glitch servers that spawn way to much loot. For example theres baracks that have probably over a 100 items laying around. -
Up north, like the northern part of the map right? Theres not that many animals up there infact I have never seen any up there. The SW and SE parts of the map there all over the place....but you can find animals just about anywhere on the map....just not way up north. I have traveled through the northren most forests to get to on end to the other. The only thing there is up there is the new militarys base, and a whole lot of trees and confusing roads. Not a bad place to hide a tent. So I would advice trying further south. TV tower and devils castle theres normally a few animals running around. The pumps don't work on stable, you gotta find a pond. I would carry more then one water container.

Did you eat and drink allot too during your recovery too? I threw up a couple times during my recovery and kept eating and drinking.....seemed to work more then anything else Too me it seems like the reality in game is different then what it says on the wiki, when it comes to this. It seems like real in game sickness is almost just like losing a ton of blood and having to recover from it. Altleast the time I recovered from it.
-
It says on the wiki charcoal tabs are what cure it. From my exp, it did not seem to help. Its may have played a part in my rovery though. My avatar was grey blury screen sick too. Right when it came on, my freind gave me charcoal tabs.....nothing happened. What really seemed to work was eating and drinking over time. Similar to rovering from blood loss. So I'm not 100% certian at all if the charcoal tabs did a thing for me. Maybe it did....just really slowly.
-
Last patch I almost died from sickness, and was able to recover. I just ate and drank, until stuffed. Then stoped waited til stuffed went away. Ate and drank some more. I kept repeating the pocess until my avatar saw color again. My avatar vomited a couple of times during this process. It took about 20 to 30 minutes to recover. I remember I ran out of food and had to run to a nearby vilage to get more. Once I go my color back I remember it did take some time before I was green 3 green bars though. I did take charcoal tabs early on when I first became sick, it did not seem to help....although maybe it had a really slow effect. Eating and drinking is what seemed to cure it I mean ALLOT too. Getting sick you can die from really easly if your not prepared in game. Like not carrying enough food or water. Don't cook using the gas stove, its buged to burn food. Wait intil they fix it in a hot fix or patch. You will get sick from it now. Use a fire place kit instead. Raw and burnt meat will get you sick. Make sure its cooked.

LOL OFP was an asome game. Were in the hell are all the mags for the ak 74 in dayz anyways though LOL Single shot!

I will agree the mosin is horrible in CQB, normally I carry a side arm. My personal fav side arm is the .357, simply becuase I just need one speed loader and ammo. You can get away with not even having a speed loader. If you have a mosin as your primary, your play style must adapt to that. Meaning you have to avoid close combat, or have an mp5 in your kit. There are some players that are really good with the mosin in CQB...really good...(i have not mastered that art yet, nor will I try)...me I'm with you though I will not used it for that..no way. If your going for what is all around more bang for your buck I can aggree to allot of your list. But its all play to style to concider too here.

You know I like the fact evil minion took the time to do this, but really I think much of that is his own opinion though. I'm vary sorry but the M4 lacks range (which is not real world), the real AR-15 has a 800 meter max effective....nothing like dayz lol. M4 has allot more range then 200 meters that is shown in dayz, try 400 to 500. M4 and ARs not realistic in dayz...and before you go saying anything I was in the service and handled the daily. Do I care, not really, they are hard to find anyways and I don't care to look for them. Sure its great at close range IN DAYZ, but thats were it starts and ends. Its not even worth the effort to look for. AKM has range attachments, rate of fire ect ect...and a shit ton of punch. Hes got the mosin mid teir..........that in my eyes is the most deadly weapon in this game used by a skilled players. You can kill players from really fucking far and they have no idea were it even came from....then blame it on hackers lol Thats my opinion only. But evil minions has a right to his OPINION...its what he likes...not nec what every one else does. I can tell he prefers close end fighting and thats why he selected the weapon teirs that he did. I respect that. Hes got it listed like its fact, were really thats his opinion alone. Hes got the 45 on low par LOL....wow...and the ak-74........my goodness. New players just go here http://dayz.gamepedia.com/DayZ_Standalone_Wiki...... The wiki is like the NPR is for news...its just facts, no personal opinion. You can decide for your self, what suits your needs. Whats really is amazing about the wiki.....is when you read the weapon specs......theres not as much difference from one to the other on damage as one may think on many of the guns. The rest is just range, rate of fire and the shot guns case spread. A single shot from a 45 is the same hit points as a single from a akm at close range LOL So much of this is just players perference not facts. LOL Its so true.

OH BOY Aerial transport in Q4 2015, almost time to dust off my FSX joy sticks.....I love flying! Next year is going to be a good one for pc games....GTA-5 is coming out too for pc...man it looks good. Dayz is going to get some asome changes.....Even the total war series is getting a new title...Is it me or did 2014 seem a little stale for pc games?

Heres something funny...a number of times and I mean more often then one might think....I have seen players get shot dead by the same person TWICE, when they come back to loot there body. Its pretty funny! It happens allot in packed servers. Awwww Karma. Again what players should do is instead of killing the selves to get better spawns to loot there body. Address the issue why you died in the 1st place. Stop putting your self in an ungodly stupid risky situations. Like running around on the streets of electro like a chicken with your head cut off, on a high pop. You don't have to blindly follow idiots ya know. But thats for you to work out. This game dosn't have natural selection though. This part of player progression, learning or just plain stupity and it will remain. So I see this issue not going away unless there is a mechanics change. I'm getting to point on the forums were I have learned really there is no point in getting mad at people, or even annoyed. Its not even worth the effort. Everyone here is plays for different reasons, and are at different points of there learning or player progression. So I for now on just going to point things out...thats it, or talk about patches or ideas. I think dayz has a school hard knocks players have to go through..I am really begining to think its part of the DayZ experince..I will no longer interupt lol by trying to teach. Instead be entertained.

Hi Hicks, I think the reason this thread was started was a mis-understanding or lack of knowledge of the difference between persistence and none persistence servers. Also just how the servers work in general. I for one think it has its place. I don't think some players know, that just because there’s no loot on one server, doesn’t mean there’s none spawning on others. Persistence plays a huge role in that. I'm finding that when it comes to DayZ performance, spawning to weather varys server to server. So really its all about server selection. I look at stuff like ping, bandwidth and if it’s persistent or not when selecting a server to play on. It can solve a host of issues; some consider bugs or broken game mechanics. I think sometimes people think it’s a game all about tactics and survival. There’s also allot that you have to know about game mechanics, server types and bandwidth as well, which can totally effect game play. Maybe after alpha it will not be an issue, but right now its def something player should be mindful of. It’s the source of allot this broken this and broken that threads. Much of it can be avoided just by good server selection.

Does anyone know the name of Dean Hall In-Game?
CJFlint replied to EHNR's topic in General Discussion
Dean Hall is god in the DayZ in game world, he is the creator. Wether he is in your game or not, he is always there like jesus all mighty. They should have his face plastard in the churchs for all to worship. -
As much of a survivalist I fancy my self....I felt like a kid in a candy store when I found one of those buildings cluttered with gear.. :D :beans: :beans: :beans: :beans: :beans: :beans: :beans: I will confess! It seems like it only happens randomly in certian areas.
-
I have seen this too, thats why I log into none persist servers while gearing. That exact reason you discribe. There is much of the time nothing there, or stuff people left crap behind. This is something I saw too and adapted to. You said, "Most every player has the same goals in the game, get healthy, get geared, pvp of some form or another. The process of achieving those goals must be fun and rewarding or the game will not succeed." People who think like that only live a few days in dayz, why accept that too? DayZ is a sandbox with 100% game play freedom...You dont have to do what everyone else does. Not always true all the time anyways. Me, surivial is my end game period. So pvp is just something I have to do when someone gets in the way of my survival or I'm in a trouble making mood. Not nec an endgame. But in all honesty players endgame vary from player to player. There is nothing linear about DayZ My advice would be try a none persist server. I have been on persist servers and there is nothing anywhere except junk people discarded. So loot from my perspective is not at all a problem in .50. Exp I have not tried yet. Most of the loot issues are cause by perist servers were everything is taken..Server selection is the cure.

After many hours of playing I've realized one thing....
CJFlint replied to pabloottawa's topic in General Discussion
Is never to blindly follow. To trust my own instincts and learned knowlege 1st. To be ready for pvp all the time, light or heavy servers. Never trust strangers in game. This not a game of emotions or eithics, it is only that if you let it be that. Its not a game of fear, its only that if you let it. Its tactics, map and survival 50%. 50% understanding of the mechanics and how the game it self works. Some say it is a social game. For me its really only social with TS. Its only in the larger since with 3rd party software. The game by it self is only somewhat social. Also I learned to survive there is things you do and things you learn never to do (which isn't that clear when you start off). Its YOUR job to figure that out, not mine to teach you. Thats part of the experience you most learn for your self. The DayZ school of hard knocks. Everyone exp will be different. -
Sounds to me like your pvping on high pops and probably in the "hot pvp area", in the middle of the city, were everyone and there uncle is kosing. You got 10 minutes to return to your body to get the gear off of it. The best thing to do is have a freind remove it then guard it or keep an eye on it til you return, then you don't have to worry about time. Another thing is much of the time when you are shot dead, much of the time allot of your get ruined anyways. So what you return to maybe all ruined, it can end up being not worth it. I used to do the same thing when I group pvped in the past. Now its less of problem, I just don't die nearly as much...so its nothing I think about anymore. I had to rethink how I was playing and what I wanted out of the game. Infact when I die now, I take a couple days off then come back. I don't bother, and let it be perma death. So I think you should address whats killing your avatar so often not wether you should kill your self to get a closer spawn to you body. Thats an easy anser anyways. That would be your best bet. Deep thought, thats for you to figure out. Do you even want to survive? Or do you just want a quick thrill? Thats on you. To anser your question....killing your self is like rollling the dice with spawns...it may work, it may not. Its kind of random. You can't relly on that all the time. Your kind of explioting the game when you do that too. Do I care if you do it....not really..
