I really only found netting once in since it has been added.....4 peices in a stack. I found it on a boat near riffy. Other then that never ran into it. I do know it is now easier to find after the .52 stable. As far as rare items goes, I dont really care that much anymore, unless its netting. I know its not really going to give me any real advantage anyways. The stuff I go for is really only somewhat rare. High Cap Vest, G helmet with visor, Military clothing, mosin, LRS.....stuff like that really I can find with in a few hours longest a few days of game play....no biggy. I am not a helicopter hunter. Unless I see one randomly I dont set out to look for them. One thing I learned playing dayz this past year, is really the is no real peice of gear that is going to give a huge adavantage over everyone else. If your a good player your a good player, if you suck then you suck. Being "geared" to gills with military gear is only going to protect you and give you an advantage so much. You can still be shot really fast and be sent back to the coast. We have all seen it, the guy who gets geared to the teeth, then the 1st time they pvp they loss it. The 1st time one has to learn this is a perma death game. They cry, they blame hackers ect ect. Its kind of a painful loss for a video game.

You know I drove that truck and rode in it for bit my 1st time recently.....I avoided it for the longest because of the death horror story's due to bugs, but some TS pals had a couple of them on one server on X-mas night. 1st off riding shot gun is glitchy as all hell. Driving it how ever I found to be pretty fun. It seems challenging not too bad, I liked it. Seemed more realistic then ARMA 2 drive mechanics...maybe thats just me. Its still early, Its seems promising, but there is a lot of stuff to be worked out yet by the devs. Lets face guys......The VS3 is an old truck were talking 1950's thats being nice and prob is underpowered....I mean its kind of a hoopty in RL you add in that its a apoc in game....your lucky to see them even running. So maybe its to be expected in a way. I am kind of wait and see right now...there buggy anyways so I only ride in them for fun its not a viable mode of trans form me yet, I'm a grunt I huff it lol Those things are so god dam noisy on a packed server you kind of make your self stick out like a swore thumb, not to mention the glitchy nature of them....I prob would turn down a ride, unless I have no choice. But its good to see them, and hope to see more soon. The thing I like about them is its an old gritty truck that really seems to have its place in the world, it fits in prefect with the whole gritty eastern euro feel to the game. So no complaints its early.

Pretty much now days I check the logs every patch and look at the changes plus known bugs. One thing I will say is much of the time, the game killer bugs are known issues and will be listed. So if your aware of them ahead of times they will not harm you. Also some servers are pretty bad with high ping, if you log onto them it will have desync, or its just glitching as all hell....don't stay on it. Dont just keep playing on it. Find another one, save your self the head ache early.. Theres a host of problems that happen on laggy servers. Shit like not being able to switch weapons, use items or pick them up, or a zombie hitting you from 20 feet away ruining your crap. It happen on crappy servers.

What always wrecks it for me is letting bugs get to me and wanting to put it down for a bit. Example my 1st month of playing I died on a ladder then died simply walking through a door...which at the time were known bugs. I left for 3 weeks. Was not combat related or skill related. But lately I have been reading the change logs more often and the forums has also helped me avoid that type of stuff. I have not run into nearly as much as I used too. But there is nothing worse then doing every thing you can think of to keep your avatar alive, then to die of a something really stupid. I think allot of dayz sa is just knowing it is still a work and progress and knowing what things to look out for..Example with the recent patch the new truck crashes, also don't carry anything in your hands while entering the truck cause it might disappear into the either. Theres a few others. There petty but need to be noted. I think its like 50% skill base and 50% knowing the engine mechanics....what works how it works and what does not if that makes since. What to avoid and what not to worry about. I normally when I try, live for a month sometimes more. So I will take a break after each longer life. Just to collect my thoughts...Its not really a quit for ever, I would say more of a break, nothing negative. Hackers.....I will knock on wood. I haven't seen that many, that I can 100% confirm, there out there, but I think much of the time its a easy excuse or a cop out more then anything for one to blame there short coming on. Now If you see one, tape it or screen shot it then make the claim. So Im not saying there not there, they are a problem, but a bit more rare then players make them out to be. I have really noticed this playing. You really have to watch your self, you can get hear a bang your dead and not even know were it came from. If a sniper shoots you from 600 to say 800 meters, you may not even hear the shot. Urban settings are the worst, you can be shot from any angle, the worst type of combat in dayz and in RL for that matter. What amazes me is players gravitate toward urban style pvp then wonder why they died....well go into it knowing that...its the worst. Every single window every knuk and crany could have a player sitting there....is it really worth it? When you add lag to that stew, it makes it even worse. Even the best can easily be sent right back to coast in a urban CQB type setting. So yes sometimes you don't know what hit ya. This does not make it a hacker. I play on low pops, mid pops and high pops dosen't matter.. Really haven't seen that many.

You know what. I would like to see a few islands and boats that we could use to get to them, more ocean based activitys too. In the games current state though, its prob will be a while if ever. Im sure when its closer to release Maybe ocean fishing, boats, a few islands and ocean survival. A new form of banditry, pirates! I dont think it is at all far fetched either, or think the idea should be dissed. ARMA 1, 2 and 3 had boats, and so does the mod. Same with the OFP series. Hell ARMA 3 has a submarine. So the more options the better.

Its cool....me too I got a lot of hours in the game as well. Some of the companys have been dropping the ball I agree.....Watch Dogs is one game, that needed some more work before it hit the PC market. Could have been really cool. Cutting corners. Ubisoft is well known for stuff like that. Could have been really asome games....but release dates and money are more important. Although black flag turned out asome. The reasoning behind it is petty lame I agree. Heres the thing to understand too, games like skyrim.....were talking 5 to 7 years to make, that being modest. There a huge project. So really your only going to see releases like that a couple times a year if were lucky. Bethesda is works in secret, complete off the grid. Even there flops like elder scrolls online are still pretty epic from what I heard. Rockstar is another one too, just asome games! Cant wait to see GTA 5 on the PC.... As far as Dayz goes....I am a die hard now I think. Wether I like to admit that or not. I play it allot and always go back to it. Its tough and it challenges me, I like that about it. Sometimes its down right harsh on players.....I call it virtual flagelants!....But for me I am holding off on my final judgement...We dont really know yet..I hope for the best!

I feel the same way....But It was just not a good place for it, you got 2 or 3 moderators and like the head dev on just the 1st page :o Dont get me wrong though people have the right to be cridical on here though. That what its for really, but it has to be constuctive.....I guess we all have learn new thing daily though. Well I think "brown nosing" can almost get lumped in with a breach in forums rules. Its just a fact, and seeing that the forum moderator and head dev both posted on this thread, its likely there going to say something about it. Maybe its not such a good place for that......... :huh: I think the OP was just giving thanks to the devs doing the holidays season, and they did releace 2 patches in a pretty short amount of time. The past 3 patches I only really have minor nit picky complaints about. There pretty good for the most part, and seeing this is a "alpha" early access theres something to be said for that. So theres nothing wrong with telling them thanks. Although I do think to say Dayz is somehow better then all the other game devs, is quite a claim. Im mean atleast wait until there done, then maybe we can revisit that one. I mean have you seen what bethesda does, there amazing. Skyrim is years old now and is still the best RPG ever, no one has toped that I dont care what anyone says. Todd Howard is prob the best video game creator ever, I presonally consider my favarote....just magic. I think what dayz has going for it self is 1st it spawned out of one of the best military sims ever made, ARMA and OFP. With that engine what better place to make a surival mod and a stand alone version of it. The engine is asome and so is the concept. So I think it has really good ingredients. I cant wait to see that new engine, that allows more advanced mechanics. It isnt over yet, we still have another year atleast. So I will reserve my final judgement til then and best of luck with the progress.

My over all 1# goal is to do every thing I can to keep my avatar alive, healthy, reasonbly geared and just have fun for as long as posible. If I get sick, shoot or mamed I do everything I can to recover my avatar. I try vary hard not to let my avatar die, thats my game. PvP is something I do when either someone gets in my way or presents a threat to me. Or I just want to find trouble. When I go into pvp I go in it with the mindset I am going to do everything I can to stay alive, keep my team mates alive and shoot the hostiles. But really my dayz game is not all about shooting other players at all, I spend much of my time going on adventures, and dealing with challenged that my avatar is faced with. I really dont care if I shoot anyone, it just seems to happen, even when I dont want it too. So I deal with it is quickly and effectivly when it presents it self. It part of the game.

So guys..........why are we even talking about this anymore? Everyone who who has played this game for more then a couple days knows to log out in a hidden area away from were player tend to lurk. Becuase of this really really basic knowlege, its pretty dam rare I ever see random players logging in or out. It was at a base too......I mean come on....really? The anser is clear as day....shoot him, easy money. He was being lazy and dumb, if he really did just decide to log out there. If your a geared player you better be careful were you log in and out. If you dont that's your own fault and I have no pitty. My theory is who ever that was he shot was a careless server hoper. Why you gonna log out in the middle of a base....Maybe he DCed. Anyways who the F cares.

I begin by saying I really like the concept of DayZ SA and the mod. But I find it really.....well kind of over done to goes a far is to say the dayz is ran so much better then other games, that going abit far LOL. I mean that really is just pandering. I think Dayz def lives on the shoulders of the ARMA series, which is a military simulator that has been out for years. The SA still has a way to go and there are many issues to be resolved. So be cridical, be vocal if there is something you dont like, let them know if you dont like how there doing something. Trust me it will come up, the devs want feed back. Let me tell you something when you been alive for a month and you go and try to climb a ladder and it says "you are dead", for no reason what so ever. Then you cant recover any of your belongings. You might think other wise lol But I would like to say thanks for rolling out a couple of patches that run smoothly, before x-mas. Since .50 I think the patches have been running abit better from my end. So thank you, I love to watch the progress.

My dear freind, Lets be real here. When is the last time you have seen a random player just log out? Me its been a while a long while...... Combat logging....well to me that dumb too..Most will flee then log out....there a timer.....I mean come on, you dont now if you log out your avatar will stay for 30 seconds. Most know better and know this. They go to some place hidden then log out. So more then likely I will never shoot a player logging out anyways. So what dif does it make. Im sure it happens but its so to rare for me to care about. So much of this is kind of a none issue.....it really is. Its nothing about hard core or not hard core. Its about common since. But the reality is if I did see someone say at a base, log out....well I prob would shoot them. Its a military spawn.

For some reason I since a little self bragging and or alittle butthurt on this thread, seeing this is now the second one....either one or the other or both. I can almost smell it! Becuase its really such really basic common dayz since really. If you stupid enough or wreckless enough to logg out were there is higher chance of players in the area, then its your own dam falt. I was told that when I was vary vary new to this game and always made sure I was in a hidden area while logging out or on...Still yet to die that way. Its a none issue to me. But to anser your question, If I dont know you and I see you logg out, its prob an 80% chance I will kill there avatar, depending on the location. Then sift through there belongings...prob all crap, but who knows even ass hats can find rare items...sometimes. Its kind of a rare for me to see players log in and out that I dont play with on TS. Its kind of a none issue to me. Have a nice afternoon.

Who gives a shit! :o You know what I always look for a hidden place like in the woods far away from anything to log out for this vary reason....think about it, you at risk when you log out and in...come one. If I was at a base if I see anyone I dont know, I am shooting them and they get a 1st class ticket back to the coast regardless of WTF there doing. So.....mags in general have become hard to find. M4s are now uber rare. Now there are duppers that seem to have an endless supply of them.. Anyhow, my choice in guns I dont even worry about mags, just rounds.....357 and mosin. I prefer guns that dont need mags and are vary effective...win win right? No need for all the hassle of looking. Some servers have nothing, some are "loot glitch" were there is too much. Not sure why its like that other then persistants. Also let me give you a real peice of advice about the forums. Never and I mean ever.........NEVER! admit openly to explioted the game by server hoping openly on the forums. You will get nothing but insults and talked down too. Really bad place to do that. You will get demonized and wonder WTF? "half my all my freinds do it, wtf is with these forum people!". Your in the lions den, and the staff can see what you write. So everyone pretends to be on there best behavor here lol Its soo true. Not a good idea and not at all the place for it.

This isn't a new breed. Infact a freshly spawned player is far more likely to behave wrecklessly and without any fear becuase they have nothing to lose. The other night I was up in one of the cherno tower taking pop shots, and I heard something behind me, I turned around and there was a unarmed player with his fists up swating at me, I quickly shoot him dead. I think he was hoping to knock me out, vary foolish on his part. He didn't even get a punch in. I also dont think he understood you might not wanna try that on a player with a helmet on, and has a .357 in hand. LOL guy was a complete fail idiot. I mean complete fail idiot, I was wondering is the guy on the other end even awake....jesus. I going to use him as example of ass hattery for now on. But yes that happens all the time now, its nothing new.. Dont expect fresh spawn to be afriad..again there far more likely to behave wrecklessly, more likely to troll and even try to rob other players when there just starting there new life....There is also allot of jack asses and idiots out there....serously is. Im so quick to shoot an ass hat. I dont even think twice...pull any shit with me your going back to the coast. Any misleading coments on prox chat, any hostile postures, any ass hatery what so ever, and its back to the coast! There the same people that die like for or five times a night. I have been forced to shoot freshly spawned players quite a few times, for trying to pull shit. Nothing to be proud of, but better them then you...right? You can kind of see why there fresh spawn in the 1st place...not becuase there new, becuase they die allot. So I dont view fresh spawns as being any more freindly or less freindly then anyone else. They get the same treatment as anyother player from me.

The reason I think many players stay on the coast or close to were they spawn at is becuase there over all expectations of what there going to do is low. They do not want to run for a around the map for hours on end just to die. They have not really learned how to play dayz to survive for more then a couple hours at best a couple of days. So they limit them selves. Its the truth. Theres also the fact you need food, water, good boots and some way to repair them...they dont want to bother with that. I prefer not to play with player that think like that. To me there more of a liabilty then anything. Dont get me wrong, if there in TS as long as there cool its all good...Im just not going to team up with players like that LOL For me I have always been a traveler in dayz, one day I will be in cherno, the next up in novo. I go every where. I love going on adventures. I prefer the southernwest part of the map the best if I had to chose. The NW part of the map is my least fav becuase theres to many open feilds..not enough places to hide or take cover. Although I do go there often. I am always moving when I play dayz for the most part, unless Im doing over watch. To me dayz is a moving battle feild or world. You get nothing by just staying still, or limiting you self to a small area. In pvp you its not always the best idea to to sit in one area for to long. Thats how you fall victom of ghosters.

I noticed the Dayz TV sight has been kind of wishy washy too.....kind of weird. Oh dam...Well I really hope the devs and the dayz team can work through it and everything will be good.
