  1. A chainsaw is one of the worst possible weapons in a zombie apocalypse, given that it's loud even when it's not actually cutting and that the gory cutting throws half the zed's blood at your clothes and face, which is pretty much a 100% chance of infection. Flamethrowers, if rare enough, could be pretty damn neat.
  2. Love the first suggestion. Literally, I want to grab it and take it on a nice, civil date then hope for a kiss when I drop it off at it's house. The second one just seems overcomplicated.
  3. I like everything but the degradation. I'm all for players having to go back for more gear, but I've never seen item degradation being implemented well in a game. Besides, flesh isn't that hard to cut, your hunting knife won't go dull after a few uses. Neither will your axe. Rather than them being dull and useless they should be dull and take twice or thrice as long to chop wood or gut an animal.
  4. Agreeing, playing this game with friends is much more fun and it's a pain in the ass to group up, specially with the respawn button being disabled.

    DayZ is TOO EASY!

the solution is simply upping the damage and health on zeds, and improving the AI so they stop zigzagging like idiots.
  6. Who needs camo or ghillie, if you have a female avatar and a girly voice you can walk around Cherno pretending to be a chick and you'll have multiple people gifting you guns and bodyguarding you
  7. Sick players infecting others is already a thing.
  8. SOMEONE doesn't know what the "save x" function is for
  9. It's your resolution, and quite sadly it's not movable unless you change it.
  10. It's something that's not changing anytime soon unless a bunch of serveradmins boycott DayZ and demand more control over their servers, sadly.
  11. The main problem is that, as you said, he finds you to be both more rewarding and more of a threat than six zeds chasing him. It all boils down to that every player can achieve "lone wolf" status quickly and without much effort, as there are no classes or anything that forces teamwork, and that zombies are incredibly weak, their only difficult point being an error in the AI that makes it go evasive maneuvers and magical teleporting on your arse and the ability to punch you in the chest and break your legs. All the game really needs is some sort of system that restricts your ability to handle situations based on the gear you carry, forcing you to pair up with someone if you want to live, and an overhaul on zombie behavior.
  12. Anything beyond a sidearm for a quick zed kill, a winchester for general use, and an enfield for taking out players is only useful for a bandit or full PVP player. Plus, ammo is plentiful for these "civilian" weapons. The enfield is loud as shit, but it'll down enemy players in a single hit and with a bit of luck just outright kill them because it a damage comparable to sniper rifles, and zombies aren't a threat if you're outside of a town or inside a town and somewhat near a large enterable building. Only military grade stuff I can see being useful are the tools, and the silenced guns. It's mad fun to go around a town downing zeds with single hits from a M4A1 CCO SD in the cover of the night, through NVGs. Makes you feel like Sam Fisher or someshit.
  13. Whatever I can find, but I try to get full hunting gear. Soda is way common so I find no use for canteens. A big backpack is always nice, and a compass is an absolute must for me.
  14. Kill the process and restart. Common problem.
  15. never seen much homophobia on the net, tbh it's pretty friendly in that aspect If you want a third group of people I'd say Redditors or /b/tards or something. Besides bronies are just closet furries.
  16. I fucking love my M4A1 CCO SD. It's a silent primary with a red dot sight that drops zeds in a single hit and the ammo for it is plentiful in heli crashes. I haven't tested it for PVP, but I'd imagine it is pretty okay.
  17. Shoot him in the kneecap and bandage the wound. Tranq'd.
  18. Right, so I'm seeing a lot of posts that I would love I could warn other people of being dumb, misinformed, satirical, etc. If we have a like button, why not implement a dislike one, therefore creating an useful rating system?
  19. Nope! This is the internet, I don't need documentation.
  20. If you need people to tell you why you should, you probably shouldn't
  21. Would be pretty easy to just cap the one random guy who doesn't look like a zed. Faking death doesn't sound too useful practically, since once that showed up in a patch note everyone would just beat any "dead" body into a fine pulp with their hatchets before looting it.
  22. If you need people to tell you why you should, you probably shouldn't.

    Hamburgled

You can have a makeshift tranq gun if you shoot a player in the knee or something, getting him to pass out, then bandage his wounds and leave a morphine shot when you're done looting.

    Levels?

Love this idea. Getting better speed, less sway when aiming, etc is all stuff that you need to work for and that you don't get within a couple hours of looting cherno when you die, so it adds a lot to the "permadeath" aspect of the game. I'd like to see this implemented in a less RPG-y fashion, though, something like getting a little popup saying your speed has increased from all the time you've spent running rather than getting an EXP point and being able to decide where to put it. You can give yourself a blood transfusion in real life, your source is the blood bag!
