I am having this issue with my regular character trying to run accross a hill in trees between Elektro and Cherno so it isn't just hardcore and/or the NW airfield unfortunately. It's a pretty bad memory leak they plan to address Monday so there goes my DayZ weekend :(

I am currently running accross a hill in trees between Elektro and Cherno and have had this to the point the game freezes. Go into Task Manager and look at the memory usage for DayZ - mine kept going up and up until I restarted my pc (I was unable to see my mouse cursor to end the process).

I noticed this after Wednesday's update. I hope that isn't working as intended.

I was going to add that I have this issue solo and with no-one around. I am currently trying to run through woods between Elektro and Cherno and my fps just drops through the floor as my GPU usage suddenly drops. Worked fine yesterday - only change is the update. Seems like a memory leak to me going off past experiences.

I am using the same drivers I was yesterday when my FPS were fantastic with everything Very High. It isn't a gpu/driver issue seeing as it only happened since todays patch. It seems like a memory leak. I am glad they are looking into it though. Another point regarding playing with friends.... I am currently solo I have just tried playing again and I am currently running accross a hill in trees between Elektro and Cherno (or at least trying!) and the FPS just keeps dropping to the point the game freezes and even though my pc works my mouse doesn't show for me to end the DayZ process in Task Manager. Until I restart my pc the memory usage for DayZ just keeps going up and up...

Same here. I play with everything set to Very High and have had no FPS issues until this new patch where it has gone exactly as you explained. I am VERY picky with the games I play (I get bored VERY easily lol) and DayZ SA is my current game of choice since purchasing it a couple of weeks ago so I hope this is fixed soon as it's currently unplayable for me.

Before todays patch I ran everything at Very High with no problem. Mostly 60 fps (capped with vsync) dipping in cities but not noticeable. Now It starts ok and very quickly the GPU usage drops (using EVGA Precision to display in game) and the fps drops drastically with the game freezing. Initially I thought it may be linked to the weather as the first server i was on it was raining on and off but I tried another server where it wasn't raining and had the same very quick drop. This was running through trees away from any city which is usually fine. Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit i5 3570k @ 4.5GHz 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz Nvidia GeForce GTX780 3GB with latest driver that worked fine last night. I am picky with my games and, although I am generally a big Battlefield 4 fan, DayZ SA is my current game of choice so I hope this can be fixed pretty quick. :(

Since the latest patch today my GPU usage seems to start off ok then drops meaning I lose FPS too. I've noticed that the game runs in 32bit when I switch to task manager but can't say I noticed if it ran in 64bit previously. I hope someone has a clue? :(

It's likely an alpha bug BUT possibly you were shot by someone with a mosin from a long way away. It's possible to be hit by the bullet before hearing the shot?

We need a weather indicator on the server selection then as I have never seen rain or storms on any of the servers I have used :( I will be on a mission to find a storm later! :D

Yay! I can't wait for this to go live. I loved the weather/clouds/mist in the mod and to be honest, I never thought I would ever say this, but I am sick of the sunshine now hehe
