What are you on about.. ? there is an attack on going on their database. It's like firing an employee because they had a car crash and were late to work. We are all impatient but don't lose it yet.

    I don't know honestly lol.
  5. where are all the exile / breaking points vids now? haha Anyway on topic - I definitely agree. Loot is indeed kind of balanced but server hopping and loot farming make the balanced loot worthless..

oh I think you see the things wrong. I have been playing ever since DayZ mod 1.6.x I believe. I have opened this account on the January 2014 because I have forgot my email and password for my old account. If you think this registration date means anything you are hella wrong and if you will actually go around judge people by that, you're making a big joke out of yourself and not anyone else. I can prove this only by the first sentence of your message: This, my friend is one of the most ignorant, arrogant, retarded and unrespecful to say not only towards Dean Hall but the whole development team. Rocket hasn't took "all" the money or anything and I assure you, you are disgracing rocket only by saying that. Rocket hasn't took anything, he resigned from the DayZ development because he wanted to make his dream come true - to make his own game development studio. As far as I am aware of, Rocket still plays DayZ to this day from time to time. You'll never get the experience you want in the vanilla DayZ Standalone if you think you won't have to take care of your character's needs man, I guess you should wait until mod support for pvp mods that will delete all of these "useless" parameters as you call it. If you can't appreciate the amount of progress DayZ went through ever since November 2011 than maybe you should quit and play something else with your squad.

What skirmishes?! I barely look at anyone's name when I quote them and if you think I stated my opinion based on any hate towards you, you're kind of pushing shemps up inside yourself and not me. But I guess that's how people will treat your opinion. They will ignore it if they think you're wrong... Anyway, to summarize what I wanted to say - the presentations BIS provides are for young developers. They are teaching them how to outsource based on their bad scenario and how they dealt with it, so the other developers could avoid such troubles in their future...

I haven't checked what the topic was, but I assume you talk about Tochia's. BIS sent Torchia to do that presentation to young game devs. The "questions" are coming from less skilled young game developers who are "learning" from BIS. Tochia himself said he'll stop the outsourcing process but it wasn't his choice entirely. He had people above him telling him what to do and the expectation from BIS compared to the actual production of the game had a huge gap since they haven't expected millions of copies to be sold. They said something about 400k~ ? Tochia's motives weren't to promote him or his employers. It was a simple presentation brought by BIS, same goes to the presentation with Harton about cheating. BIS is a successful indie game developer I suppose, they have a lot to share with other developers and so they do. Besides that, I don't get why are you nagging Torchia over Twitter? I mean he is sharing some work but it doesn't mean he HAS to answer any questions nor it doesn't mean you need to GET any responses from him over Twitter. He said he is doing twitter stuff but perhaps he was told to shift his main focus on the game for the time being? What you forget is one little thing. This is an alpha stage. The general point of the Alpha stage is to throw as much features as possible into the game and focus on bugs in the pre-beta post-alpha stages. It is a very smart way of doing it, since the other alternative is to add something and fix bugs. The con of this alternative way is that the fixed feature can be broken in the process of adding something else. So you throw all you can in alpha and fix it in BETA. So sure the development is going to be focused on flooding DayZ with whatever can be added. You can expect the BETA to be way slower in terms of new features. The whole focus is going to be on the bugs, even the very small ones.

    pre .59 hype

I know it doesn't. It just doesn't. DayZ is deep in problems regarding development as there are very dumb bugs, no zombies. It's true, 100% percent true. So why the fuck, and I mean mother of all video games people keep comparing DayZ to the ArmA mods. I mean I don't care if they do it, but posting it here, repeatedly over and over and over and over again and again and again the same thing the same comparisons and the same videos and the same mods. I play ArmA 3 Exile, I played Epoch - never played Breaking Point but it looks cool. But hey, this forum is about DayZ, not ArmA 3 Mods being compared to DayZ - and DayZ dev being "mocked" as non-profit modders do "better" than them (That's the meaning of it - that's the message that IS BEING delivered). These guys know nothing about the difference between modding and making a game. That there are big teams working on revising the engine, the audio, the models, the terrain, the logistic of everything and the company management. Every thing that is added to the game is being discussed whether it's a good addition or not. Modding is indeed done under a team but it's not as big, as rewriting a whole game. ArmA 3 is based on the very old 2001 operation flashpoint: crisis game which had several changes through its lifetime all way to ArmA 3. DayZ is being totally redesigned, More than a million and a half of code is being revamped. So yeah, the repeat of these posts is VERY annoying. Especially when there's like a minimum of 1 extra post of the exact same thing posted here every day.
  10. DayZ rewrites the whole RV engine. Enfusion will serve as the base engine for future BI titles such as ArmA 4 probably. Besides that, who cares about how many years was DayZ under development? It's all about the journey not the destination, right? (It isn't)

    pre .59 hype

I'm sorry for being rude. But every guy who doesn't like DayZ comes to the forums and compares A3 mods to DayZ. Everyone. Same words, same mods, same point. Nothing new. Everytime its breaking point / exile / epoch that is being compared to DayZ. I mean its sickening. It really is. How about wait 6 months and compare DayZ SA mods to A3 mods? If you compare vanilla DayZ to vanilla ArmA 3, DayZ's better. Way better.

    Zombies do matter after all...

    DayZ 0.55 never forget.

Well yeah outsourcing wasn't his choic but BIS management I guess? Anyway without outsourcing the development would be very slow so yeah. Thai-Lord Vespa hehe :). He said that outsourcing is a good thing if its done right which wasn't at that time.. Documentation of things wasn't quite organized so the outsource employees weren't doing their stuff good enough. These presentations BIS employees do, Torchia and Harton are for "young" game companies. They teach them how to do things right out of the "hard way" experiences they had.

    Back to square one

Sometimes I join a public 3rd person server and my character is "reset". When I log out and go to another 3rd person server my character is okay and I play normally. Happened to me atleast 3 times with my current character (Alive for like 1~ months?). So just relog on another server and it should be good.
  15. Yuval

    The current delay

There are stuff going inside the company they don't want us to know. If they wanted us to know, they'll tell us. But BIS is actually a big company with several teams working on different titles. (We have ArmA 3, DayZ and Take On Mars I believe). Each "team" is seperated into smaller teams as Tochia said - So the problems bigger companies experience are in larger scales I guess.. ? But hey! Battlefront Beta is coming out now so you should be busy while waiting for experimental :D.

Yeah I suck at it too.

Modding is going to be the best thing. It will bring the old players that left and even new players. Infact, I can strictly tell you that BIS is built upon modding. If modding would've not existed in BIS games - ArmA would be nothing. DayZ would've been nothing and without modding DayZ won't be anything in the future. Sure a playerbase is awesome but modding is what this company, this environment and this community is built on. I'm not trying to go out on BIS or anything, it's one of the best and most honest game companies I've seen, let alone it's an indie developer. But the content coming from modders make their game more than what it actually is. So don't tell me modding will ruin something please, because that makes you look real stupid. Perhaps all the PVP players you complain about will go to the PVP mods and your vanilla experience will be better... ? PVP is part of DayZ, and it has always been there. The amount of player interaction in DayZ is huge compared to ArmA but it is still nothing comparable to the combat aspect of the game. I'm not saying I'm a fan of PVP but I am not a fan of turning it into a disgrace either. If you want the game to be hard, play Vanilla - play a hardcore vanilla server or wait for a mod that will satisfy your gameplay. Some people want the game to not be hard but rather different, new. The guy who created Namalsk whose named Sumrak is a BI Employee now working on DayZ. But I'm sure what motivated him wasn't the game being "Hard" (which, back when he released Namalsk, it wasn't even aimed at DayZ - it was an ArmA 2 mod called "Namalsk Crisis" with a whole different storyline), it's the creativity, the difference from what the original game offers and most of all - I believe it was passion. Despite loving the game, addon makers make addons because thats what they do - It's like artist producing art. It's a hobby, and addon makers don't get any profit usually, except in some cases..... (origins........).

55 was a mistake DayZ will need to spend a lot of time to recover from.I hope you enjoyed it. I really do, because it will not happen again

    RARE!

Grass draw distance will kill certain PCs and will drop the FPS drastically on the rest of PCs which is the opposite the devteam is trying to do. As for guns, people can find SVDs in supermarkets for all I care - the ammo needs to be rare. Oh yeah, and the people looking like soldiers. That's logical, it should be. You will be trying to have the best camo you can find in a zombie apocalypse. To adapt to your environment and hide from players and zombies. Since this is a game and everyone can go to military bases - that's gonna happen. Besides that, US helicopter crashes are a mobile clothing shop for soldiers anyway (Especially if you're looking for dem booties)
  21. Got my hand on some duct tape. Thought it would be cool to see if I've learned anything from my years of DayZ. Thanks to my bro being the hand and feet model for those pics ^^

    [Expanded Logs] Loot Farming

The loot respawns every 30 minutes, and believe me that I know how it works man. But why would anyone wait for 30 minutes for a single loot area to respawn? I mean server hopping should be easier won't it? The mod respawns loot every 10 to 2 minutes, depends on which server.
