Some questions(if a developer could also reply, that would be much appreciated)

Status reports are there for you. Read them.. -
Okay so last night me and my girlfriend were sitting in the living room and we wondered what could we do? So we came up with the idea of playing DayZ together. Because that's what couples do... right? Anyway we were on our way to cherno and haven't seen any zombies but only bandits and we killed them. At last, we've reached a conclusion that we wanted to "get it going" ingame because doing it in real life wouldn't be as cool. So we started crouching and proning on each other in a building in dubky but it wasn't really going so well :(. If they could have only added flowing hair and maybe some animations of intercourse this game could be much better :/

Incoming 3rd person hacks in 3.. 2.. 1..

Holy shit. The SVD is a mosin nagant with semi auto fire and a long range scope. It's OP isn't it? No, you VERY rarely find one. What makes you think the RPG will be more common than sonething like an SVD? Besides that, taking out cars and choppers is much easier. Stop being so butthurt because if you think getting an RPG and ammo is going to be easy you're on the wrong way. What's fun about DayZ if there won't be super rare loot that only by holding them or having them in your stash you will fear losing it. And hey, if you actually choose to waste your rocket on a random fully geared player, fuck it. You deserve it, this RPG was way hard to find and you deserve to do dafuq you want to do with it.
-
I think its time to give them a good word for that no? I mean look at this: They totally deserve it and I wish they keep it going.

Honestly private communities are the best atm, the server actually has a reason to stay up as the playerbase is stable.
-
If you don't release a hotfix for this critical issue by the next 3 days I will call gaben first thing on sunday morning and demand this game to be removed from steam along with all past BI titles. Fuck this shit I want my money back.
-
where are all the comparisons to arma 3 mods gone to?
-
You guys get a bipod for an RPG!! Give me one game that lets players deploy a fucking Bipod with an RPG. Yet you complain?? "hello i am pablo huan i can work for valve. your help for problem is idiots. they rage and is stupid i know it."

I laughed so hard... in class...

Cherno is a shit town compared to others. It used to be a big place in the mod but truth is it takes less luck in spawning and less running on the coast to get x3 the loot you'll get in cherno and besides that - it is not as appealing as it used to be. I really stick to the north because it is different from what I used to see for the past 3 years. So why not?
-
This bipod looks sooooooo cute. I think this is probably what you will only be able to find in Tisy military base. Imagine zooking some helicopters in DayZ lol

Ever since I remember myself ArmA, there was rubberbanding where you'll see other players clip through walls, slowly move to their actual location once they stop moving and just a very bad rubberbanding. I understand this isn't a top priority as it is generally not a very important bug as we have been playing with it for years now. Question is, would there be attempts to actually drastically minimize rubberbanding (perhaps in late BETA stages). ArmA 3 still has radical rubberbanding and it especially comes into play in CQC gameplay which is annoying yet adaptable. Hopefully development will allow to fix the problem.

The question is, will the wall glitching actually stop at some point in the development?

It's like buying a brand new iPhone cover for your S6. Don't buy games if your PC can't run them, ESPECIALLY NOT EARLY ACCESS. If you have more than 2 hours on DayZ or you bought it more than 14 days ago, it's a "rip skins".
-
Exactly. The engine should have control of entities in the world, regardless if it's a player entity and the client itself is not responding to the server. The game should force its laws of physics on the entity and on the player incase it needs to. It should also freeze the player once the server doesn't respond back to him after a few seconds, so when someone is offline - he won't be instantly frozen in HIS screen because internet connection sometimes might not be the most stable connection in the world BUT there shouldn't be a lot of time for the player to roam his environment so advantage in tactical situations won't be a problem. It sounds hard to do but I don't think it is that hard to implement considering this is one serious bug.
-
Yeah, but the affect can be lowered. Take one of your friends and tell him to run towards a fence without vaulting. He will pass the fence in your screen and go back after a second. Not only this second affects gameplay but damage given to the glitched body will damage the player. This means that if you run for cover in a gunfight, your body will stick out and take damage for an additional second after you've set yourself behind a wall. In long distances, where objects are rendered in a minimalistic way, I've found this affect to be far more drastic, I remember I sat down with a Winchester and a hunting scope at the west hill from Berezino looking towards the town. Whoever stopped or went prone by walls was sticking out. I spotted people I shouldn't have spotted.

In terms of how dynamic entities move on other PCs, glitching and clipping through walls still exists in ArmA. Don't get me wrong, ArmA is a great game but these bugs do exist and they are a main problem for CQC combat where you and an enemy are parted by a simple wall.I know that since the Enfusion engine is getting into play here, a big potential can be used in BETA stages. I have a lot of faith in ArmA games. But when it comes to rubberbanding.. ArmA and DayZ are kinda lacking.. I think we can agree on that.
-
ArmA does have the worst bugs, and I thought I'd see anything worse than Battlefield's netcode hehe. Anyway these bugs are something we could handle... I remember me and my friends going on "solo" ArmA 3 Battle Royale camping on the tower at the Mike Station in Stratis. Haha, we straight shot people through the walls because they were glitching.. Anyway if you keep your distance from walls and fences you should be somewhat okay. But it is still a very annoying bug..
-
Yeah, hopefully it will be possible. But Enfusion is still Real Virtuality with massive changes. I really hope they could fix things like that. But if the ArmA 3 team haven't fixed issues like these, I doubt DayZ team will... but oh well - I might be wrong. Hopefully I am...
-
Doesn't work like that. Real Virtuality is a pretty fixed engine. You can't just freeze the screen legitimately.
-
Wouldn't like to see those anywhere, maybe in the Tisy Installation where super rare loot spawns but not in tent cities... this isn't Fallout lol

"Understanding Realism in Computer Games through Phenomenology" (DayZ discussion).
Yuval replied to scriptfactory's topic in General Discussion
If I wish to shoot someone its not because I want to ruin his day and if people do it they need to see a doctor. Most people do it for their own reason such as better gear, lack of food / drink and they just like combat. You can avoid KoS, you can be careful and go to places that are less popular by players where people actually want to not be bothered by others and therefore won't shoot you. Combat makes your heartbeat go from 60 to 120 in 3 seconds and some people like it. The andrenaline I get just by being in a 50 players server with full gear on me is something I have never experienced in a video game. But then again it might be because I'm a pussy.. Realism directly involves with the game punishing players for killing others. Be it humanity reduction or anythimg else. Then again, we are talking about vanilla gameplay. Mods will probably feature humanity-like systems. -
Is it similiar to SQF? (By syntax)
-
Oh boy the amount of times I spotted people sneaking up on me only because I've seen there body clipping through a small wall is huge.
