Release singleplayer as soon as possible

I am suggesting to make the release of Singleplayer earlier. Before mod support.
  2. I've never seen a proper way of people actually trading their items. Obviously if 2 players meet and both of them need stuff others have they'll attempt to trade them but I think we (the community) should try to assemble as much items as we can and build an item economy as general guidelines for trading. We can take a popular item and set it as some kind of "currency" (Not the "currency" as in trade a Mosin for 12 Xs but as a value for items). So let's go and come up with items and their worth. I suggest we use Rags as our currency model. So we can set values to items with amounts of Rags (e.g Duct Tape - 15 Rags). If this thing actually goes nice, I'll try to update the main post as much as possible! Note: This thread is not for trading. There's a pinned trading post (Click here)

    Winchesters....where art thou?

Looting is something I really tend to like, maybe even addicted to it. I could sit on DayZ 12 hours in 2 days only looting the living shit out of Chernarus without getting bored. Even when I do get bored, I go YOLO on a populated area and usually find my death somewhen in the beginning. But that doesn't make me too sad because that means looting all the way again!

    DayZ Item Economy \ Value

Okay my first suggestion is to deal with the common items first (such as clothing, tools etc...). It's obvious that clothes that can be teared to rags will have the same value as the rags they give. Civillian clothes like Raincoat and Check Shirts should be somewhere around - 2 rags * item slots -. Military grade clothes should be - 5 rags * item slots - and so on.

    Winchesters....where art thou?

After atleast 3 hours of gameplay, I have went through ALL the deerstands and deerhuts and some unlooted small villages in the northest strip of Chernarus I haven't found any Winchester at all, and at the very end of my looting journey I did find to my surprise a hunting scope (they seem to only come with Prestine condition) in a DEER HUT not a deer stand. I've been through somewhere between 50-100 deer stand and deer huts in my journey. I mostly found pants, binoculars, rangefinders, .22 mags and quivers. I've found 1 hunting backpack and a very few shotgun snaploaders. Came across my hunting scope in a deer hut near 4 deerstands above Nagornoe.

    Spawn or Stash?

CLE should have a few bugs since it is in an early build (added like 3 updates ago)
  9. I cant really be mad at the settings scheme since it exists at every game. That's a thing in gaming I think. Quality at the expense of visibility. Others things are fixable but require development resources and as far as I see it, devteam is really amped into adding new things right now so I'd suffer those bugs if we get more stuff IG.

    Never ever friendly again

I agree. It really seems that stable is a cluster-fucky wasteland while the experimental has some kind of "community" feeling where people tend to be more friendly.

How many hero's out there anymore

I have a very clear stand in this topic. Some say it counts as being a hero and some say it doesn't. I will help people and I will pursue those who kill for no reason. But I will never, under any circumstance risk myself when helping others. I will not put my gun down when I am encountering someone and I will insist that they put theirs. I know that trust is something mutual but I will not risk myself, if someone doesn't put his gun down or insists that I will - I will go away or shoot them (incase anything becomes hostile-ish)

    Never ever friendly again

I have a character on .58. I really love her, her name is Kelly and I've been rolling with her for atleast 6 days now. I've been gearing her up, giving her the best of clothes and everything. I quite actually really attached to her. While running from one deer hut to another I tell myself her story, making it all up. I've only encountered 1 player with her. I was at the big long barn with 2 side rooms at one edge of it, near novo up north. I could fucking swear to god I've been seeing "ghosts" in my mind... after all in ArmA when you are soooo alone, you actually start hallucinating (we've all been there). Anyway at one specific point when I was out of the barn I've seen his backpack popping up while he was running around stalking me and damn I was like: "I haven't seen a player in 4 days (~40 hours)". Anyway I came up to the guy, I had an SKS and he had a mosin (no mic). I was so nervous and I told him I am friendly, so if he can put his gun on his back we can talk. I asked him if he needs anything, he said no - we traded our guns because he said he isn't a good sniper and the Mosin is like my favourite weapon along with the Win70. Statistically, 100% of the players Kelly met were friendly. So stop whining like a little bitch, you can always have your gun out at someone if you are in a superior position than him. Being friendly doesn't necessarily means giving up on your defense and doing nothing ESPECIALLY IN CASE OF NEW SPAWNS.

    Helicrashes in .57

So I've been spending the night going over dozens of dozens of helicrashes. (US and Russians) No SVD. No M4A1, No AK101. I found M4 Carryhandle though. And the carryall backpack, AUG, suppressors, MP5K, PMJ/K. Tons of shoes (Must be fun for the ladies). Yep, bring back M4. Been carrying atlas, acog and compsights only to find out they do not exist :(

It really seems like I'm speaking to 5 years old only around here. All you're pointing out is what Dean Hall said. And you obviously don't know what 'Unbalanced Loot System' means by what I've said. Additionally, you repeat about what Dean Hall said about DayZ being a survival game which is true and is EXACTLY what a shooter game with roleplay features (and other features ofcourse) means, because the player takes the role of a survivor and is not being led by any story or guidelines but by everything he does - and his role affects other players by the way he plays. Unbalanced loot system means there's no loot respawning mechanism, which means players who log in right at server restarts are rewarded greatly from the loot system while others won't have the same chance and are forced to go north or hop into another server. Unlike what you said about the Mod where you could find better guns everywhere - which is called UNBALANCED LOOT DESTRIBUTION. So know what you're talking about kid. Oh yeah, and about loot camping. Open your eyes and go ingame because those loot places are being camped right now too, every one of them. Electro always has atleast 2 groups of campers either shooting eachother or shooting freshspawns intown. If you're going to start saying shit about 'I join 3 player servers and no one camps around' then your parents did a bad job at teaching you how ot express your opinion. All you guys have to say is how Dean Hall treats the game. I don't mind that much about what he says. Don't get me wrong, I admire the guy alot but he developed the game. What he said isn't what I care about. I care about what other say and what I think. Dean isn't even working on DayZ anymore for the last months so my respect to him isn't what it used to be. I really wished I'd see him going through the development until full release. How about you and tux shut the fuck up if you don't know a single thing about DayZ and how it works, the concept and the fact that .28 and .57 are 2 different things.

Yes you either make a point or you post a useless 2 lines whine. If you would actually read what I wrote you'd see I wasn't talking about the development. I was talking infact about how unbalaced DayZ and especially the Exp is. As far as Im concerned you should be warned for spamming because your post is useless.

    Helicrashes in .57

The server hopping becomes part of DayZ at this point. I mean before .57 it was all about heading to buildings after restart. It was basically like ArmA 3 Battle Royale except that people can join mid-games which gives them a HUGE disadvantage because they already missed all the good buildings players are parachuting to. At some point, you realize you NEED gear to survive but everyone took everything. So you go on an unpopulated server to get gear. Once you get gear, you realize you have no reason to stay at the unpopulated server because after you get gear - it's all about either shooting players or talking to them so you switch back to the populated server... Server hopping is a simple result of unbalanced economy. Don't judge me by my knowledge because I have no idea what CLE means - I'm speaking out of gameplay only. The reason DayZ mod was successful because there was no unbalanced loot system. Loot would respawn so you can have a fair start like everyone else. Epoch and Origins were even more successful simply because they were luring players to do PvE related goals (basebuilding, etc..) and not PvP goals and I'm not even mad, infact that's amazing. (Keep in mind that once DayZ supports mods and addons and server modding. DayZ SA Mods will appear with it.)

You should get out of the pineapple you are living in, spongebob - because DayZ has always been about PVP. Only the fact that DayZ is based on RV engine makes it a shooter game. PvP is not bad at all, and if you sir 'hardcore player' who can survive the mighty exp. patches can't handle the 'PvP' element of dayz - you are contradicting your own posts. DayZ is a concept of adding roleplay features into a shooter game. This concept exists and in some projects it is actually VERY successful. ArmA is the base of DayZ, which has a climate and reputation of a great war game and so is the Engine of the game adds alot to it. In anyway, DayZ is a PvP game. Accept it or not but the whole player interaction thing is a socially accepted term that was never supposed to exist. Believe it or not but in another universe there would be players complaining about player interaction and how it ruins their PvP gameplay (see - forums.bistudio.com). Don't get me wrong, I am not picking any side here nor contradicting my own posts - PvP and Player Interaction are 2 great things that, specifically in the environment of DayZ (and not vanilla ArmA), mixes great together. The problem is how the standalone is currently unbalanced but this is a subject that will certainly change in the future. Now if you're still confused about the last paragraphs here, the point is - you are part of both worlds. One tends to PvP while the other tends to player interactions but without eachother these things would be boring as hell. I love .57 patch to be honest, it's one of the greatest fucking updates in a while. This update finally involves some kind of "player equality", where players who join their server earlier than others don't get a super big advantage over others. The fact that different kinds of loot only spawns at specific buildings in big stacks is amazing. The loot simply stays there and every player can take what they need. Every player has their own chance of being unique instead of looting buildings hours when there are a few dudes already hanging around with their Mosins and AUGs that they found in the first buildings they entered after spawning. This is, my friend - the best experience you could have. Ofcourse you'll think about how 'there is no reason for player interaction to happen when everyone has their shit' but this is some stinky brown bullshit because if you don't want PvP you simply go north inland and avoid the PvP on the coast. I don't see a reason for everyone to cry if everyone has SKSes and AKs. I see a reason for everyone to cry when there are 10 players with SKSes and AKes and 30 players with axes.
