My pretty camouflage Mosin... ): -
How does SKS compare to the M4/Mosin
Grimey Rick replied to infiltrator's topic in General Discussion
I'm liking it so far, but mostly because it's new. It doesn't compare to the Mosin long-range nor does it compare to the M4A1 at medium/short-range. It's a good gun though; it'll drop a player in a single shot. -

I currently have half an ammo box full of SKS ammo. It spawns primarily in urban areas, mostly in kitchens from what I've found so far. -

35-50 fps on my system and hardcore lags!?anyone have same issue´s
Grimey Rick replied to survivor85's topic in General Discussion
Same here. I can run the game on Very Low or Very High and I get the same lag that sort of feels like I'm running through water when I'm near certain cities. -

I'm calling bullshit. You don't get 200 frames per second with maximum settings. @OP: An SSD won't really make a difference with anything else except load times. When I initially installed the game, I put it on my 2TB RAID0 (2x1TB WD Caviar Black HDDs). The game took a bit longer to load, but ran fine when it got going. The only improvement re-installing DayZ on a 240GB OCZ Vertex 3 yielded was an decrease in load times. I'm willing to put money on the fact that it's your processor, if it's anything hardware related. I am running an i7-2600K @ 5.2GHz and I notice a significant difference when it's overclocked from 3.4GHz to 5.2GHz. The game runs a lot smoother at maximum settings. -
I've had that issue with both the Long Range Scope and ACOG. I think it varies, as sometimes my scopes are bang on, and sometimes it's like I'm shooting over my shoulder. This occurs when they're properly zeroed, of course. I don't know if it's lag, de-sync, packet loss, or what, but it seems to be pretty random.

I thought you quit? ;P

Damn, your bayonet is HUNG. M91 BayonetM91 Bayonet is a Weapon Attachment in DayZ Standalone. A multi-purpose knife and bayonet used by the military that can be attached to military rifles with a bayonet lug. Features a 7-inch (18 cm) blade. Can be wielded in hand as a weapon, it can also be used to open tin cans. As of for now the bayonet can not be used as a bayonet, this is planned to be implemented later on and is for now only cosmetic.

Because I snipe people on the coast with my fists, right?

Character Died from 5ft drop (estimate)
Grimey Rick replied to TiptonSamurai's topic in General Discussion
I broke my legs running up the stairs of the ATCT in NEAF last night. I laughed my ass off thinking that my character has killed countless zombies and other players only to succumb to that dreaded top stair he tripped over. Thankfully, DeathTaX was nice enough to bring me some morphine. I'm good as new! -
A better way would be to start off with regular ammo, then pressing "R" when the reload icon appears after your first two shots are spent. Not a clumsy system at all; it's just not an optimal firearm.

Legends say his attitude might've been different if he'd just let the bambi keep the hacksaw so he could open more beans.

Go download Loadout on Steam RIGHT NOW. It's free, and a good way to practice your aim in an appropriate environment. (:

Bandit =/= KOS

Yeah... I just logged in for some early-morning DayZ fun. Instead of seeing my psychotic clown-like Hardcore character upon connecting to a server in my favorites list, I'm greeted with an angry bambi on the shore. Thinking there's just been a network glitch or something, I attempt to connect to another server in my favorites list to check out my Regular character. No such luck. Another bambi.

Yes, fuck off. I don't know what kind of a mood you get in reading a forum, but I'm pretty chill. I just sit here reading the idiotic drivel being emitted from people's fingertips and reply however/whenever I feel it's somewhat necessary. If anything, when I see posts like your Alpha post(s), I literally sigh, look at my ceiling, and then put my palm to my face. Also, telling someone to fuck off doesn't imply you're "tough". My wife tells me to fuck off all the time, and I'm pretty sure I'd wipe the floor with her. ;3 But y'know what? When I'm acting like a fuckstick and she tells me to fuck off, I take a minute, reflect, and then generally agree with her diagnosis of the situation. -
Be careful, the TBG servers are run by a bunch of whiny middle-aged men who don't take kindly to ANYTHING. Literally. They'll kick you for an "indecent" name, killing-on-sight, "talking too much" when you're near one of their players, etc. If they find out you're camping an airstrip/field killing-on-sight, I'd put $100 on you being promptly kicked/banned. +1 for what you're doing, though.

Says the guy reiterating the fact that we're still in Alpha status not once, but twice in a single post. Fuck off, bud. We're all fully fucking aware this is an Alpha. Fuck. In other news, the character deletion issue seems to have been resolved, at least for me. I have both my Regular and Hardcore characters back. Yay! -
fix't I started the game helping people. That was fun for a while. Searching for people in need, bandaging them, giving them saline, feeding them, protecting them, etc. I eventually grew tired of being attacked/betrayed by people. Then I began holding people up and robbing them. That was really fun for a while. Then people discovered that when they're being held-up, they can simply combat log while their hands are raised. That's why I shoot anyone with a gun on-sight (for the most part). I spare new spawns and those who're not coming near me. I don't go on a rampage searching for every other player I can for the simple pleasure of killing them. When people stray into my path who're armed to the teeth, I eliminate them. When the new patch drops and combat logging has been properly addressed, I'll go back to being the semi-friendly bandit who enjoys holding you up, restraining you, sifting through your bags, and then letting you go, all the while enjoying semi-polite/goofy small talk. I refuse to go the medic route again; it's not fun at all. If that's what you enjoy, great. I won't stop you. Nor will I denounce how you play the game on the forums. All I ask is that all of you judgemental people claiming there's only one way to play the game do the same. Cheers.

Hey man, lovin' my 2002 Volkswagen Jetta GLS TDI! I've owned it for twelve years now and have almost 400,000km on it! Still going strong! TL;DR: Thanks Germany! <3

1) Why are you still here? 2) 218 hours played as of right now and haven't died on my Regular character since last character wipe/patch. I don't hide in the woods. I get the jump on people constantly. Is the Mosin overpowered? Probably. 3) Start → Control Panel → Uninstall a Program → Select DayZ → Click "Uninstall" → Make everyone happy.
