Why doesn't general discussions have like a sticky of all the good discussions
Grimey Rick replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
Because we've yet to have any good discussions. -
While I am a big fan of Resident Evil, I feel that 28 Days Later has a better zombie-apocalyptic soundtrack: Back on topic, MOAR GOLDENEYE DAETH MSUIC!

More Effective, Less Frustrating, Hopper/Logger Solution
Grimey Rick replied to Solopopo's topic in General Discussion
Bro, you're either a server-hopper or stupid. I'm going to go with the former since, from your posts that I've read, you seem to be fairly intelligent. However, creating a thread with a "solution" to eliminate server hopping that actually promotes server-hopping, coupled with the fact that you've blatantly admitted to server-hopping and then arguing you're just trying to "fix" the system is making me lean towards the latter. EDIT: Nah, I just think you want to server hop. <3 -
Hahahaha, I had to edit my second FAIL. You totally trolled me, I was like WTF?

Loot farming server owners, and why the server browser is to blame
Grimey Rick replied to todd10k's topic in General Discussion
I didn't realize these video games forums were a fucking trial. As intelligent people reading the OP and following comments, it's quite easy to ascertain the issue being brought up here. Useless posts asking why his thesis didn't match his essay are pointless. But to be honest, the fact that you can never figure out which server you were just kicked from does make it a tad difficult in figuring out who to report. Facing such difficulty makes it impossible to remove the server from the abuser, leaving him free to kick more people. So, technically, the OP is accurate in his thread title. -
Messing around on experimental, 1PP vs 3PP :D
Grimey Rick replied to Grimey Rick's topic in General Discussion
I'm not aware of this "vid" you keep referencing. I was looting the tower and went prone for a second to go take a piss. When I came back it really struck me how overpowered 3PP is. I've yet to see any threads pertaining to identical screenshots of the two different views. I must have missed this "vid". The thread was created with equal concern over my apparent frame rate cap of 49. They've been as high as 140 on stable; it's just experimental where they seem to remain constant. Any thoughts on that? Or perhaps a link to a helpful "vid"? -
100man servers... my biggest fear has been realised.
Grimey Rick replied to Cenobyte's topic in General Discussion
Mathematically it's 2.25km² per player. So yeah, I get your point. Realistically it's whatever the total surface area of Cherno, Elektro, Balota, NWAF, NEAF, and Berezino is. Without actually trying to figure it out, I'll estimate 40km², which is 0.4km² per player. It'll be like semi-realistic Counter-Strike. Cap 'em at 60 and move on, Rocket! -

More Effective, Less Frustrating, Hopper/Logger Solution

No, I unfortunately read all of it. You're not playing at a disadvantage when you refuse to server hop. Just because someone has more bullets than you doesn't mean they're any harder to kill. I am all for a better system than we currently have implemented, trust me. It definitely has its weaknesses. I don't like being forced to wait x numbers of minutes because I accidentally clicked a server one above or below my intended target. Ah well. In the meantime, it is what it is. I'm sure something more effective will eventually be put in-game. But this is not it. -

Nuh-uh! ): I think most people are aware of the 1PP/3PP debate, I just figured I'd actually post some screenshots for future reference when the debate surely rears its ugly head again! Also, the 49 frames per second cap... discuss. -

Cannibalism should be an option when starving
Grimey Rick replied to Miquinei's topic in General Discussion
If you mean the little poofs of blood that emanate from those (undead or not) being riddled with bullets from an M4A1, then no, sir. It is not. #whereisthegore -
More Effective, Less Frustrating, Hopper/Logger Solution
Grimey Rick replied to Solopopo's topic in General Discussion
Uh... that would make more people server hop. Run in, loot airfield, run to pine tree, sit down for a minute, rinse and repeat. Your proposal kind of helps against combat logging, but it benefits server hoppers. You've mentioned many times you're a server hopper. Now we know why this thread exists. EDIT: /facepalm -
Machetes suck right now because they are basically fists with a machete glued to them
Grimey Rick replied to alleycat's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, three shots to the head. It should take one. It's a fucking machete. Also, I hate how you have to hobble around in fists mode when using it. -
Whoops, forgot about that. Ah well, if they can guess my password, they have earned my account. It literally takes me fifteen seconds to type out my password, and I generally hang out in the 100 WPM club. xD

Haven't played since last patch, I take it.

9 times out of 10 you only shoot a handful of bullets before you're dead. I don't know how many guys I've killed that have been reincarnations of Rambo. Most times they don't even get off a shot before I down them. :3

OP could've benefited from reading this.

No, I wouldn't. I like not knowing who I am dealing with during every interaction. It forces to you converse, or at the very least engage, on some level. I think this would detract from the immersion of the game. The only thing I personally would be cool with, is if when you were close to someone and pressed "P" to bring up the player-list, their name(s) would be highlighted in a different color. This should only be used if someone is being supremely offensive and needs to be reported. A name tag is almost as silly as floating text over our heads. That's why we have a friends list. A zombie apocalypse wouldn't be an overly friendly community, in my opinion.
-
Because it's not World of Warcraft. I don't want to know your name unless we interact in a positive manner and I decide to add you to my friends list, at which point we can either: a. Type in chat using the "/" key b. Trade Steam names via voice communication
