Don't hate. Gearing up is 50% of this game. It isn't 15% of the game like World of Warcraft where you maintain your purchase post-death. You die a lot in this game, no matter who you are. If you fail to understand that logic, then you're lost.

Not to compare e-peens, but yes, I was a professional player from 2000-2004, right around when CS:Source was released. Competed for three years in CAL-m with my final year in CAL-i with teams such as Malicious Intent (m][.), Pernicious Vengeance (pV|), Killers 4 Eternity ([-k4e-]), among others. I just keep the fireaxe in my backpack. It takes up five vertical slots, but the hotkey still draws it the same as if it was stored on your back.

As has been stated in other threads, if you're building a computer specifically for DayZ, go for the best processor you can afford. The video card is not nearly as important as the processor. I have run my current processor at its stock settings (3.4GHz with a default 3.8GHz "Turbo" setting) and achieved far less performance than when running it on my current overclock (see signature). I am only running a single GTX 580 video card in my current three year old rig, and I'm achieving better frames per second than a lot of the community. In cities, I range from 35-50 frames per second and in the country I have seen as high as 120 frames per second. This is with maximum settings. Good luck.

How about you guys work on fixing the server browser before adding more things to the game? I love having broken interwebz for five minutes after I refresh the server list two or three times. (:

I'd have to agree with the OP. The only times it's remotely hard to find food is if you die on a server that's been up for three or so hours before a restart. There's always a little bit of a panic, but you end up finding some. The only time I've been really concerned with dying to anything besides another player was just recently. I was shot by someone in a window in Elektrozavodsk which ruined my shirt and caused me to bleed. I ran to a corner with the intent of bandaging, but I had stupidly kept my only bandages in my shirt, so they were ruined. As I mentioned, so was my shirt, so I was in a bit of a pickle. I started booking it from house to house in a frantic attempt to find either some bandages or at the very least a shirt. By the time I found a shirt, I was barely alive. It was awesome.

If you guys claim to have survived a month of playing every day and regularly engaging other players, I'm calling bullshit. Not only are there 18164346151643 douche bags to one decent person running around in this game, there are countless bugs and character resets. I can't imagine how incredibly dull this game would be by avoiding every player, ladder, staircase and balcony I ran into. What the hell do you do all day?

Yep, hackers ruin the game for me. I don't give a fuck if it's an alpha, it still has to be somewhat fun to sink time into. In its current state, it's becoming really easy to not play. This wasn't the case two weeks ago.

I've killed so many of you guys. I can't wait until they implement grenades so I don't have to waste so much ammo since you're always grouped together in bambi bukkake sessions.

I feel your pain, man. Not only that, but when this occurs on my end, I can't even use my web browser. It takes around five minutes for everything to settle down and work properly afterwards. It's really fucking annoying, I'll admit. I think it has something to do with how many queries the server list sends and receives, as all of the servers seem to refresh of their own volition every few seconds. After refreshing the list several times, it's sending so many queries that everything just gets b0rked.

This. I have 32GB for video editing. It's crazy that people use their computers for things besides gaming, right? Right?!
