    [Challenge] Clan v. Clan

For the player, yes, agreed. DayZ PVP is like golf: fun to play, boring to watch. I've KOS'd so much now that I don't even get that rush any longer. I actually wish I still did, it was more fun then. :T

    Zombies Repairing Gear

I've had this happen with a ballistic helmet before. I thought I was just crazy.
  3. Meh, that's what happens when you enter an MMA match against a BJJ ace and neglect your stand up. I love Cro Cop, but TIMBERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

No, DayZ group PVP is boring, that's all. When people brag on the forums of "rolling" other clans in a turtle-paced match of who can camp a corner the longest, I feel the need to post links to other games that actually require a little talent. Whoever scratches their nose first loses. inb4 lol fgt well come try 2 klil us

    Standalone Alpha on Steam

I'm 500 hours in and still enjoying it.
  6. One word: embarrassing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQdC8oxhDWY Your posts are as embarrassing as your countryman, Mirko Filipovic. The OP has a point, although I don't fully agree with him. DayZ is a brand of its own. It doesn't promise you anything. It doesn't force you to follow any rules. You can play it however you want. This game is not all about hoarding massive amounts of ammunition and medical supplies. Unfortunately, that is what people think it's about, so when they die, these threads happen. I don't fully disagree with the OP, but this game needs to be played with zero fucks given. That will remain the same from now until its release.

    Experimental woes :T

This is the third time this week I've switched back to stable from experimental, and the third time I've encountered crash to desktop errors. The only fix for me is a complete reinstall. Does anyone else get errors when switching back? EDIT: I was going to post another thread for these, but they kind of pertain to this as well. On experimental I've noticed the pub building isn't spawning loot in the room with the cupboard. (Screenshot was taken on stable, reference point only.) Also, I am unable to crawl/roll under holes in fences on current experimental build. I have tested with and without a backpack, just in case there was some collision happening. I was going to report these as bugs and didn't notice them reported yet, but wanted to make sure here first that no one else was experiencing these issues.

    Best Character Contest.

This is from a patch or two ago, but my character still looks the same:
  12. I get 60 minimum (single player and multi player on ultra settings) FPS in Arma 3, and 25 minimum (in Elektrozavodsk, maximum settings) FPS in DayZ:SA.

How am I desyncing when I'm the only one on the server

I find I get a metric fuckton more desync when I'm playing a geared character with First Aid Kit, Ammunition Box and Small Protector Cases. I really think item containers are a huge part of the problem.

    Being killed,with no explanation ?

Yes, I've died for no reason before. Many times. Several times it's been unexplainable: 1. Running up the runway on NWAF, only person on the server. You are dead. I have my Player List key bound to Mouse 4 and I spam it like I have OCD. Immediately after I died I was still the only person on the server. Rage ensued. 2. Sitting in one of the highrise apartments on the first level tucked in a bathroom eating. You are dead. Same as before. 3. Walking in an apartment. You are dead. Alone again. I think it's just desync, though. I don't know if it's possible, but I think that when you sync back up and are on a different elevation than you were before you lost sync, you get effectively splatted into the ground. I don't know how that'd explain #2, but maybe I lost sync and fell to the ground even though I wasn't moving and was on the bottom floor. EDIT: Because edit.
  15. Title. Ruins immersion if some random dude/chick can wriggle out of my handcuffs within thirty seconds of me putting them on. Have you ever tried to escape from handcuffs? From personal experience being thrown into the back of a police cruiser, I can tell you it's not possible unless you have some kind of Harry Houdini shit going on. They dig into your wrists and cause all sorts of lovely bruises, scrapes and cuts. Suggested tweaks: a. Take at least a full minute of wriggling to get out of the handcuffs. That way your captor could watch for any movement and decide what he's going to do with his determined captive. b. Handcuffs should come with the key attached. Handcuffs are rare enough as it is, but the keys seem to be even rarer (yes, rarer is a word) in my experience. Could we not just have the keys spawn attached to the handcuffs? When you apply the handcuffs, have the key remain in the inventory slot the handcuffs had previously occupied. Upon removing the handcuffs, have the handcuffs and keys then recombine. This doesn't really help the captive remove the handcuffs, but it'd be an improvement to the current system and could potentially give reason to revamping the current escape system. c. Let the captive jog. I've always thought it's kind of weird that you can only kind of shuffle along with handcuffs on. Letting the captive jog would make it possible to escape a situation where a captor is being careless, but not enough of an advantage for the captive to escape if being actively watched. Anyway, just a few thoughts. I don't even bother picking them up these days as they're so worthless in their current implementation.

2 years on and nothing has changed

Don't worry man, this game will never see completion. If they keep it in an alpha/beta state forever, they can just keep that silly disclaimer up there and all is well.

Post your PC specs, in game settings and FPS here

Specs: FAPS: Wait, you said FPS, not FAPS... Oops! But seriously, all my settings are on very high using the computer in my signature. In cities I range from as low as 25 in combat to as high as 60 at times. Out in the open I have achieved as high as ~180 frames per second. It's generally around 70-120, though. EDIT: Because edit.
  20. ...just made me kill my fairly kitted character. Holy Christ. I had to jump off of a building after almost two hours of playing whilst listening to those horrible breathing sounds. It's a mixture between a porno and Rosie O'Donnell eating a double chocolate cake.

What do a mute person do?

Just throwing this out there, but a mute person would probably type.

    Eventually...

I don't think I could ever put that much effort into caring whether or not someone got some loot somewhere I'd already been. Different strokes for different folks, though. EDIT: Although I have been known to spray disinfectant on fruit that I find.

Bandits, Heroes, and Everything in Between

After perusing Rhodes' latest topic, Dracula pauses, skeptical. Leaning forward slightly in his chair to assail an itch within the cleft of his poop factory, he ponders. Surely this isn't yet another thread attempting to validate something which needs no validation. He leans back again, arms folded, resting gently on his recently-filled-with-blood-of-a-whining-forum-sheriff tummy. He closes his eyes, and begins to drift into a meditative state. Finally, after a fortnight of deep introspection, he awakens. Befuddled, his candid reaction was quickly sketched by Igor:

Yeah, I use a controller for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Wait, you meant DayZ? LOLOLOL
