Seriously dude? The zombies themselves are a non-factor. I can fist-fight a half dozen of them without getting hit. They're like an annoying younger brother tagging along with you the entire time you play. My entire point is regarding how they just get in the way. I'm not complaining because I find them hard, I'm complaining because I find they ruin the entire experience of the game in their current state. Even playing with just my wife, her biggest complaint is how stupidly fake they are. I mean, yeah, they're zombies, but at least attempt to make them somewhat real. Back on topic, we still PVP against other clans, it just makes the entire experience annoying as fuck. When we take on another team, we generally use the same Team Speak after we're done to talk/joke/laugh about it. Sometimes we gear up the guys we just killed. When we're talking during the gearing up period, everyone says the same thing: annoying zombies are annoying. We've all agreed that we're sure the game will be fine, but right now it's taking away from the whole experience. They should've just left them alone until they're actually going to put some time into adjusting their AI and fixing their pathing. I agree with your post 100%. The game will eventually be fine. It's a game like no other. I'm only bringing attention to one little component in the machine that is DayZ. P.S: For those of you making dumbass posts about how this is affecting our "camping", take heart that we're not camping Elektro with a Mosin like half of you probably are. I'm so beyond Elektro/airfield "PVP" it'd blow your mind. As I've stated at least three times, me and my crew enjoy organized PVP against other clans/teams. We're not KOSing you. We're not camping you. We're certainly not bothering you, so kindly keep your asinine posts to yourselves, kthx. -

I more or less agree with what you're saying, but I wouldn't use TWD as a comparison for potential realism in an apocalypse. (; They're what, two years into it now? Most of the zombies would be dead by now, wouldn't they? I get what you're implying, and in my OP I suggested that corpses laying around that could be awoken if you were loud in their proximity would not only be fine, it'd be ideal to add another dynamic to the game. -

Wait, what? Me and my clan have planned matches against other clans. I guess I wasn't clear enough in my post to illustrate that with the scenarios I provided. Yeah. Playing DayZ is currently so very hard. If we're just out to loot and engage in light skirmishes, it's pretty straight forward and faceroll boring. That's why we have PVP matches against other people who are, y'know, good and stuff. I also understand this game isn't about 5v5 planned showdowns between two or more groups of people, but a ton of people participate in it, so it's probably worth a look for the developers. -

Rather than address every point of your post that's already been addressed in pages prior to this one, I'm gonna put myself out there and make the claim that 3PP has no place in a game like DayZ. At all. This game can't advertise itself as an "authentic/realistic zombie apocalypse survival" game and then include a Tomb Raider playstyle for those who are too scared to play without the borderline wallhack that is 3PP. I don't even know why ARMA, one of the most "realistic" military shooters out there felt the need to incorporate 3PP. Like seriously, wtf? Counter-Strike feels more realistic in comparison. Also, in Counter-Strike, cl_thirdperson "1" can't be activated until sv_cheats is set to "1". What does that tell you? EDIT: Because comma.

I shot a guy with a Mosin in Balota last night and ducked into the ATC. He ran into a hangar. I was watching his position through the windows facing Balota. He ran out a moment later before I could land another shot with the Mosin and rushed into the ATC. I tried for at least 15 seconds to take out my Magnum to no avail. My character just kept putting it away. He killed me, laughed, then called me a noob. I let it go and clicked "Respawn". I spawn in Elektrozavodsk, and run to the school. I find a Hunting Backpack, a Mosin and some ammo. I then ran to the northern firestation. I found two Protector Cases an FNX magazine and an FNX. I was pretty stoked. I then glitched through the floor and died at the bottom of the stairs. I'm sure the words "fuck this piece of shit game" could be heard throughout Canada.

You can no longer get underneath the hangars in NEAF. It was fixed. You can look through walls in first person as well as third person. Third person will just give you a larger field of view. Screenshot:

That does not equal balance, dude. Just because one guy got up there first shouldn't give him a metric fuckton of advantage over the guy who comes along second. Some advantage, yes. Absolute clarity, no. In 1PP, you'd have to peek, so even the guy with the elevated position (think ATCs, tops of firestations) would have to risk his safety for a momentary glimpse of his surroundings. As it stands now, the guy in 3PP can just lay prone for a half hour until someone blunders along without risking exposure. He can then time his attack perfectly until he decides to strike with no risk whatsoever. That is not balanced. The following two pictures portray a fairly accurate description of what I'm getting at (both were taken without moving the character at all. I simply changed my view from 1PP to 3PP): 3PP 1PP

People who're chiming in on the whole "we can all use 3PP, so it's balanced" tune are silly. Sure, we can all use 3PP, but the guy laying prone in an elevated position has an exponential advantage over the guy on ground level. That's where the whole debate is really quashed. In 1PP, peeking requires a risk. That's realistic. This game strives to be realistic. In 3PP, peeking involves no risk and is akin to playing Tomb Raider. It's dull, makes griefing exponentially easier, and robs the game of a lot of its heart-pounding excitement. Meh.

Agreed, massive pain in the ass, especially when you're suddenly walking in a situation you need to be running, and you're maniacally trying to figure out whether it was a right-click or double-tap of shift that initiated the walking mode.

Current annoying (t)issues: Running out of a building only to be snapped back into it after you're 100 paces awayDropping something in a building only to have it appear in a completely random room somewhere else in the buildingUpon pulling out your gun, your character decides it's better to put it away again. This can repeat anywhere from one to a dozen times before your character finally agrees with you that having a gun out when someone with an M4A1 is chasing you is a good idea
