Girl with pink-haired anime avatar and random Japanese name complains about game for reasons OTHER than no tentacle monsters to take advantage of her. Beans, I'm impressed.

Physics glitch in buildings, 'you are dead' need advice
Grimey Rick replied to gianni001's topic in General Discussion
I didn't accuse you of wall peaking, I accused you of wall peeking. This might help you. While I'd like to actually give you my opinion of what you are, this is the official forum for DayZ and I have no inclination of getting banned. -
A couple of hours ago I picked apart a group of five geared players at Balota with my Mosin over the course of a half hour or so. When I got to the last guy, he tried to run away and ended up running straight towards me. The MP5 took care of him. ;3 I am still playing DayZ for those moments.

Stop wall peeking. A friend I run with wall peeks all the time, and it happens to him every single time, ruined pants/boots. -

"You are dead. You suck. Learn to play." Or something to that effect. -
What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?
Grimey Rick replied to RadikulRAM's topic in General Discussion
I've already posted it on the tracker. I've posted a bunch of exploits there that have still yet to be fixed. It's obviously not high on their list. -

The unlimited magazines are NOT HACKED. I repeat, NOT HACKED. I won't post how to make them but I can do so with three easily attainable in-game items. NOT HACKED. -

Yeah, you can still make them. Every patch I check to see if I can still get into certain walls, under certain buildings, duplicate food/ammo, wall peek, check the gamma glitch, and see if I can still make infinite mags. So far, NONE of the above issues have been properly fixed. -
This guy just won the forums. Beans.

I just murdered and looted someone very close to me.....

This is a widely known issue caused by server lag. Let me guess, you had just logged in. Be honest. (; You can kill yourself without worry as long as you make sure you're NOT desyncing when you do. If you kill yourself when desyncing, the server seems to think you've died as it doesn't register there are two of you. I'm assuming your hesitation to kill yourself let any desync you might've had after logging on dissipate. This is also how people duplicate gear for their friends. -
Why would you leave the North-east corner? Ever?

I'm trying to imagine the type of person who feels that killing zombies and surviving in DayZ is difficult. I don't understand how people can denounce player versus player scenarios as being boring, citing the excitement of "surviving" in Chernarus. If the zombies had a 75% chance of infecting you and moved like the zombies in State of Decay, THEN it could be intense fighting them. If the environment was relentless, food was scarce, supplies were extremely limited, wild animals stalked you, and you were struggling to remain healthy with excruciatingly rare medical supplies, THEN player versus environment would be a viable alternative to killing other people to pass the time. Currently, surviving is mind-numbingly easy and zombies aren't even a threat. Maybe the Farmville crew got off of Facebook and this is where they migrated. -
So you mean to tell us that you got off ten or so shots on two guys with a bolt action rifle? Were they retarded? They didn't think to either take cover or pursue? Mind == blown.

While I agree that this game is about player interactions (which mostly end up being hostile), I am so sick and tired of Berezino and surrounding area. It wasn't nearly this bad when Elektrozavodsk was the main hot spot, as you had a lot of surrounding area to explore when you wanted to take a few hours off from killing other people to resupply and heal. Now it's just Berezino/Cernaya Polana/Novodmitrovsk/what's left of NEAF. -
What is the longest you have survived?
Grimey Rick replied to Baseborn's topic in General Discussion
My Hardcore character has been alive since mid-January. I play her roughly two hours every night. -
Wait, that's the gear you're afraid to lose? You could reacquire all of that in a two hour run from Berezino to Balota. EDIT: splelingz

Running on maximum regardless of your build, you won't see more than 25-30 frames per second in most cities and ~60 frames per second away from them. When I first started DayZ I was running two GTX 580 video cards in SLI. After using the unofficial SLI fix, I was getting ~120 frames per second away from cities and ~45 frames per second within them. Since I've installed these two GTX 780 Ti video cards, I can get nowhere near that. Either they've modified the game somewhere along the way, or DayZ really doesn't like the Nvidia 700 series video cards.

That's awesome.

Anyone Interested In a Meet & Greet? (July 13, Sun.) [Clip inside]

I'm in on Regular. I don't even play with personal friends on Hardcore. Lone wolf for life! Click my signature for Steam information. -
This guy is my new favourite person.
-
I more than likely will when it happens. I've got almost 1,200 hours logged in the Standalone; I've used Regular as a guinea pig to refine my play style. I only play on full 30 player servers (I find there is major lag when servers go over 30 players) skulking around the outskirts of towns and airfields. My friends can't play with me on Hardcore as I've been labelled "obsessively compulsive" when watching an airfield before deciding to make a move to loot it. That character probably has most of my kills (which at 1,000+ hours is easily in the high hundreds). I only recently switched from the Mosin to the AKM. I became a very good sniper playing lone wolf. Sniping is the key to surviving in DayZ. If you are the type of player to partake in CQB, you're going to die regardless of how good you are. How many times have you unloaded a magazine into someone's back only to have them turn around, shoot you three times and you both end up dying? De-sync and lag are the biggest enemies in Chernarus+.

There are no spectacular deaths. They're all embarrassing.

Look at it this way: the most fun to be had in this game is when you're just starting out. The paranoia (that you'll eventually learn to overcome) eventually dissipates and DayZ becomes just another game. Cherish these moments. My Hardcore character has been alive since mid-January, no exaggeration. I am still very attached to her, but I have written a very detailed note of what she's been through so that the person (or, God forbid, ladder) that finally snuffs my flame will perhaps have some appreciation for her endeavours. I hope an experienced player downs me as they may appreciate that I still have the Ballistic Helmet and Gas Mask equipped (which is no longer possible) and may take the time to bury me out of some sort of weird respect. ;3
