I usually hang around there on the couple of servers I frequent. When the server restarts, I quickly run there to post up with my Mosin. I then proceed to KOS the shit out of anyone I see.

The shadows definitely look better from one actual resolution to the next... they just don't seem to get better when you increase the rendering resolution. Increasing the rendering resolution used to make everything look sharper (obviously), but now the game just looks shitty at 2160p/maximum settings. My question isn't whether or not this actually happened, it's WHEN it happened. I can't find anything pertaining to when they downgraded the graphics.

Even if I run the game at 200% resolution I still get the chunky shadows and pixelated foliage. The funny part is, it runs just as well at 2160p as it does at 1080p. They definitely changed something along the way; the screenshots I posted above are proof.

I just follow people around and kill them; usually much to their chagrin. ;3

The PautRev Camo is the only decent pattern. All the other ones are fugly.

Yeah, they're different. My question is when did this happen? It must have been recently as I'm just noticing it now. The shadows used to look leaps and bounds better. I haven't changed a setting in DayZ or my OS since it launched.

My wife doesn't care that I play as she plays too. Since I work a month on/month off schedule (oil rig), when I'm home I vacuum, do the dishes and laundry every morning. It only takes me an hour and change and enables me to game all day without nagging! Also, before the flames, a happy wife is a happy life. Anyone who disagrees is still a teenager. When the wife sees her man doing housework, I tend to get "rewarded" on a daily basis. ;3

I shot a guy in the back of the head from fifty or so metres with a Mosin last night. He ran away hemorrhaging blood like a waterfall from his cranium. I stared at the screen for roughly thirty seconds unable to articulate my thoughts into words before logging off and shutting down my computer. I shivered all night.

I mean, maybe it's just me, but I'm not so sure. I don't really have two identical screenshots to compare, but check these: BEFORE NOW Keep in mind these are with identical settings; I've been gaming on maximum since I started DayZ in December.

You can petition for this change, but not on the grounds of immersion. Currently the long range scope is the only truly immersive scope, as you wouldn't be able to see anything else but what you're looking at through the scope. I'm no expert marksman, but when I shoot, I tend to close the eye I'm not aiming with.

Find a random bush and drop it. I've never run across a hacked M4 from which I couldn't remove the magazine.

I have one, but wouldn't that be defeating the point of "finding one"? You can just have it. It's on Hardcore.

Thanks "Dave", but they use the same servers on experimental each go around. I have them all in my favorites list; they constantly use the same servers but cycle their names each time they restart. So, "for argument's sake", when they were running 100 players on the experimental servers a few months ago, they "lagged" equally to what the experimental servers lag now. Also, World of Warcraft uses multiple servers per instance, per realm to sustain its population. Instances, battlegrounds, and each continent are all kept up using thousands of servers.

I've heard talk of a wormhole to Vybor... heck, I didn't believe any of the hype until I saw some strange shit takin' place in the north-west airfield a stone's throw from there... crazy, twilight zone shit... My advice? Stay away from that place...

Yeah, I'm saving that one for a special occasion. Maybe when we infiltrate the [LOST] Boyz on Blood Mountain I'll whip out my inner pantless Asian to bust some heads.

I noticed zero difference in lag when they had the 100 player experimental servers up. The game lagged exactly the same as 40 players on stable. ?¿? RIDDLE ME THAT ALL YOU "NETWORK EXPERTS". ?¿?

Quite the opposite, actually. Y'see, DayZ allows me to vent otherwise dangerous emotions online in a harmless manner. Hell, without DayZ I'd be doing 5-10 for domestic abuse. I wish I had've been playing DayZ a few years ago... my overly vocal mother-in-law would still be with us. (They could never prove my whereabouts.)

Me and DeathTaX already infiltrated and killed a bunch of CQF guys a few months back. It was fun, however, I find clans boring now. They're basically just a friends list.

I was just playing DayZ with my wife and friend on a 4/40 New Jersey server. There was [obviously] one other person on the server besides us (someone named Tomek). We ran from Novodmitrovsk to Berezino looting everything in between. Upon arriving at the police station in Berezino, my friend took fire and was killed by this Tomek guy. My wife was in the police station on the top floor watching the stairs having a little panic attack. I was near the train station so I flanked toward the shore and got a clean shot on this Tomek guy who was watching the front door of the police station behind a police car. I blew his brains out with the Mosin (he wasn't moving, easy shot), checked his pulse to verify his name (even though he was the only other person on the server), and saw that he had a hacked M4A1. I checked the player list and saw that he was still in the game. We waited around to see if he'd come back for his stuff, and about ten minutes later, lo and behold, there he was. He [laughably] denied that he had killed my friend and that it "must've been someone else". Needless to say we executed him (again) after harassing him for a few minutes. After this, we saw that he was still on the server, so we decided to wait for him again before moving on. At this point we're still the only players on the server. Not ten minutes later, my buddy sees someone running down by the shore behind the building with the large smokestack. We all pursue and my friend dies again following a seemingly limitless amount of gunfire. My wife freaks out and runs into a bush (haha), and I spotted him climbing the tower on the shore beside the cranes. He somehow spotted me hiding behind a bush (complete bullshit) and started lighting up my general vicinity with another M4A1. I managed to get off a shot with my Mosin and nailed him in the chest. He started rolling back and forth atop his tower perch. I hit him again, and again, and again. Four Mosin shots to the chest/neck finally put him down. We ran to the bottom of the tower to loot him and saw that he had another hacked M4A1, morphine, bandages, hunting backpack, camouflage gear, the whole nine yards. Keep in mind, this was the same guy. I checked his pulse to verify it and he was still the only other person on the server. This all happened within a stretch of maybe 45 minutes.
