Will someone please explain to me...

Moving around is client side. Before you can vault, your client must receive a response from the server to do so. The same goes for moving things in your bag, picking up/dropping things, equipping/unequipping weapons, etc. It's caused by a synchronization error between your computer and the server.
  2. The MP5 and pistols have awful accuracy. They're basically only good inside of buildings.
  3. Maximum settings all day, baby. I'd rather die in a beautiful environment than live in a pixelated one.

any point in having a sidearm?

If you have an SKS or an AKM/M4, you don't need a sidearm. The MP5-K and sawed-off are terrible at the moment; I'd take an FNX over either any day. I feel this whole weapon dexterity thing is being blown way out of proportion. If I know someone inside a building only has a pistol, I'll just rush him with my SKS/AKM/M4. The only time weapon dexterity really has any effect is if you're spinning 180• to fire at someone who snuck up behind you. With the currently implemented buildings this is a non-issue.

any point in having a sidearm?

I don't get the lol? The OP is asking whether or not there's a point in having a sidearm. I can only assume he means CURRENTLY, not in the future. CURRENTLY, there's no point unless you're rocking a Mosin. So yeah, whatever they do in the future has nothing to do with this thread's topic.

Apparently I've NEVER eaten rotten fruit before...

Just keep yourself fully energized and hydrated. My friend force-fed me a rotten zucchini and I survived it without charcoal tablets. The tablets have to be taken shortly after you eat the rotten fruit or they'll have no effect anyway.

    Blood Bandits?

Me and a pal killed a player by draining all of his blood. He was a fresh spawn. IIRC, it took five bags to bring him to one blood (apparently you can't outright kill them by sucking them dry), and then one punch to the face to kill him. We left the blood bags on his corpse. /sigh Those were the DayZ.

    Fraps FPS - Sniper - need help/suggestions

You must've gotten a one in a million chip. My cousin has one and we couldn't get a stable 4.8 out of it on water even at 1.475v. We thought we had a shitty chip, but after searching around that seems to be the norm.

    Lets talk about sniping.

The Longhorn is just a gimmicky gun. I've killed a few people with it, but only when I couldn't find a Mosin. It definitely gets dropped as soon as I do.
  10. I'll report it for you. Any other posts I've made today that I should throw in?
  11. You're not right, you're an ignorant moron that doesn't understand basic game mechanics. I'm done being civil. I've outlined in my posts that I have no qualms with Regular. I play Regular. What I have an issue with is people claiming it's balanced. Just because both parties have the ability to wall peek doesn't make it balanced. I've given multiple examples of actual scenarios that depict my points. You've given unbroken walls of text that label people as elitists for calling Regular imbalanced as well as delusional vitriol pertaining to Regular being balanced since both people have access to the same camera angles. It's simply not true. Your answer regarding the sniper at the airfield is also invalid as he never has to peek, so you're not going to know he's there. You can't gain any information as to his presence without risking your life. No one should have a 100% advantage over another player in any situation. That is NOT balance. Having the high ground is one thing, but having positional superiority without risking anything is stupid, ESPECIALLY in a game where you die and lose all your stuff. So, to recap: 1) The argument of Regular being balanced is laughable. 2) I am not telling people which mode to play; I play both. 3) You're not "getting to me." This debate has been beaten to death and is frustrating as fuck. 4) Only girls use passive-aggressive smilies. I'd refrain in the future, unless your name is Lyndsay and you're a controlling girlfriend. Finally, all of this was typed on my phone. If there are typos, fuck them.
  12. I don't, most of them are douche bags.
  13. Neither. I play both. I enjoy both. I haven't told anyone they shouldn't play Regular. I jumped in on this thread when people started making the dumbass claim that Regular is balanced. Of course, if you'd read the thread from page one with any level of comprehension, you'd realize that. I've logged more hours on Regular in the past two weeks than I have on Hardcore servers simply because Hardcore servers are very rarely full. Great post btw, had me on the edge of my seat the whole read. I literally felt scared for my safety irl. 9.2/10! EDIT: How would you surmise whether or not there was a "peeker" at an otherwise quiet airfield if he never peeked? Call Miss Cleo?
  14. Reading a post like this makes me laugh. You either legitimately don't get it or are just defending cheap gameplay. SITUATION: You're camping on top of the fire station in north-west airfield with a Mosin equipped with a long range scope. The only area in which you can be counter-sniped is the tree line to your east that you can see perfectly. You can't be hit or even spotted from anywhere else on the airfield. You can see your entire surroundings without having to peek, as you can see over the ledge. Anyone coming along will have no idea you're there. You can pop out whenever you please to blow them away. If they decide to be cautious and flank east into the tree line, they're still under constant surveillance and can be taken out at your leisure. Yep, that's balanced. Totally. If you were to do this in first person, you'd have to peek from time to gain information of your surroundings. This would leave you open to being spotted and potentially sniped. Crazy, right? Take defending a building for another example. You're sitting behind a corner watching the front door of any given building in third person able to see what's going on around the corner. The guy approaching the building has no idea you're there, and even if he did, he'd be at a severe disadvantage as he'd have no idea if/when you were going to pop out and waste him. In first person, the playing field is more level as the person defending has to decide whether he's going to peek for intel, or post up and play the angle. Someone breeching who knows how to "slice the pie" would still be at a slight disadvantage, but at least a realistic one.

    Fraps FPS - Sniper - need help/suggestions

Intriguing. I run two 780 Ti video cards in SLI and they are completely necessary for modded Skyrim, BF4 at 4K, ARMA 3 on Ultra and several other titles. In Crysis 3 at 4K I noticed a 50% increase in performance when using SLI. I'm also astounded that your 760 is outperforming my 780 Ti in DayZ as well. I average 60 frames per second, dropping as low as 20 or so in cities. You're the first person I've heard of getting such high frame rates in DayZ. Congratulations.
  16. You shouldn't post when you're high. It's called Hardcore because playing in 1st person requires more spatial awareness, better tactics and quicker gun play. This thread is quickly deteriorating into a hive for some of the dumbest posts I've ever read. Now, apparently Regular is the hard mode, and Hardcore is the easy mode. Seriously, my mind is blown. What some people will say to defend their position is hilarious. I have zero issues playing in either mode. I don't know how zombies or other players sneak up on you in Hardcore. Apparently your headset sucks. I don't know why so many people complain about FOV in Hardcore; it's almost EXACTLY the same. Seriously, switch between the two and watch as you're magically able to see another half centimeter on your screen. You can't see your surroundings? Then hold your ALT key, morons. 1st person doesn't represent your peripheral vision in real life? NEITHER DOES ANY OTHER FIRST PERSON GAME. Your peripheral vision also doesn't allow you to see around corners or over ledges, either. Crazy, right? Honestly, /facepalm.

    Kids with no manners

You acted like a complete asshat. I might be a bandit, but at least I'm somewhat cordial to the people I hold up/murder. He obviously had no idea what you were saying.

    Damn bro, you're a badass.
  19. Grimey Rick

I really dont get the point of bambi killing.

I lol'd. I've spammed my hotbar a hundred times before my gun has properly drawn itself too many times to count.

What's the current hacking status like in DayZ:SA?

Haha, I was only kidding. Hackers are everywhere; those who deny this are in la-la land. I was killed by a hacker the other day. I ran back to my body, and we ended up talking. He informed me that he paid $15 for an executable file that hooked the DayZ.exe or something along those lines (I run cranes, I'm not that computer savvy beyond putting one together). I asked him what the program could do, so he directed me to the website he bought them from. I'm not going to link said website, but here's a copy/paste of some of the "features": Features:Teleport (Player and other players)Item/Gun SpawnerAim Boxes/BotGod ModNo recoilInfinite ammoSpeed hacks - 300% faster runAmmo box spawnerNo clipExecution scriptDrop all players/npcsDisarm everyoneNo grassSpeed Shot - 150% faster shootingSo yeah, there are definitely no hackers in the game, right guys?

    Stopped reading at where.
  22. I'm just going to throw this out there, and I know I'm not a rare exception, but every time that I've decided to post somewhere on normal and wait for people to stray into my path with an extremely advantageous position, I have not died. I have been forced to retreat the odd time, but even with that, I've been able to fall back and find a bush/tree/fence and laugh while people run right past me. Clans are no better. There's the odd group of people who are very good together, but they're so few and far between it's a non-issue. They've usually got a counter-sniper on overwatch as they explore an area anyway, so as soon as you take one of them out he'll suppress you. But, again, you can just fall back to safety all thanks to 3rd person. Anyway, I don't care what mode people play in, I'm simply stating facts. I've in no way lied or stretched the truth. All of these experiences happen on a daily basis. I'm 1,200 hours into the Standalone and nothing has changed. Hardcore is a more tense experience, while Regular is just for jumping on and fucking around.

Are the "casual" players THAT dumb?

Short answer: Yes. When this game began, it was marketed for the gamer who was looking for a deeper, more challenging experience. However, that little $40,000,000+ figure is starting to sway development in a more dumbed down version of what this game could be. The main source of income for DayZ is, unfortunately, the casual gamer. They buy the game because their friend has it, play it a bit, and complain incessantly until it's changed. DayZ could be the best game of all time for the hardcore gamer, unfortunately, it's not gonna happen.
  24. :emptycan: I wish I could TAKE beans from nonsensical posts. If you don't understand the game enough to realize how much of a tactical advantage 3rd person is when defending a position, you don't deserve them.
  25. Is your list based solely on weapon strength/effectiveness? Does it consider potential real-world likelihood of certain weapons even being present in the game's setting? The list seems pretty good from a gameplay perspective, though.
