We've been clicking the "I understand!" button for years – it's getting a little ridiculous. The development for this game is the most ass-backwards thing I've ever seen. This. I'm also negative, but not because I want to be – I want to play the shit out of a game that achieves what Dayz set out to achieve YEARS AGO. But, let's face it: it ain't happenin'. How this game maintains such blind faith in so much of its remaining community is amazing, truly. The mere idea of a game like DayZ is enough to inspire unending support in many people, but unfortunately, it's in the hands of the wrong development team.

THOUGHT ABOUT IT. DON'T MAKE SENSE. MOVING ON.

Short answer? Yes. Long answer? YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES. I'll just be over here killing people until we get some challenging features.

How about some actual difficulty? A new map? A reason to log significant amounts of time into the game? How about a sense of survival? This game still feels, at its core, exactly the same as it has since initial development. I'd love to be challenged by the environment. It's one of the main reasons why I just fight everyone I encounter. Why bother teaming up? Against what? Boredom? Give me a new area to explore. Make me want to invest huge amounts of time to accomplish seemingly mundane tasks. Fucking challenge me. #inb4banforspeakingmymind

Player stats shouldn't show players killed
Grimey Rick replied to WilliamTheConqueror's topic in General Discussion
What about blokes like myself who don't care about stats in any way, shape, or form, but will continue to spread genocide throughout Chernarus regardless? Ayy. :^) -
Oh, don't get me wrong — I'm definitely one of DayZ's biggest proponents — I want it to succeed. It says as much in my profile. ;^) I'm sure between Bohemia Interactive and the active community of modders out there that we'll eventually get what we all want: a grueling, visceral survival experience that pits every aspect of the game against us, from other players to the environment itself. There are a shitload of games out there that have tried (and succeeded) in plagiarizing DayZ Mod, and that's great. But no other game has actually made it ridicu-fucking-lously difficult to survive. That's what I am hoping for.

Not trying to play the devil's advocate here, but what exactly keeps you guys believing that this game will ever be what you want it to be? Has it ever demonstrated even a modicum of being such? From my memory, it hasn't. We haven't even had any real infected presence in the game for months now — let alone any actual challenge in surviving anything besides glitches and other players — and as such I guess I just don't have the same faith I once had in this game. :^(

Up-to-date Gun Comparison: CR527 vs IZH 18?
Grimey Rick replied to tatchell (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
I never thought I'd see the day where the CR ranked superior to another firearm; it's still a terrible weapon, but it's much better than the IZH. -
I will drop whatever I have to to ensure that I have enough space to accommodate this precious resource, and as such, I have literally twenty boxes of .308. If you need some, I can hook you up, my friend. My only condition? It must be used to harvest tears from the masses.

Glad to see that insta-death on the police stairs is still a thing
Grimey Rick replied to The Daryl Dixon's topic in General Discussion
Never? You must be new to DayZ. -
I haven't used the bow in ages, however, I remember that you can stack arrows in multiples of five. Make five arrows, stack them, then drag them onto your bow. That should allow you to take five consecutive shots. Again, YMMV, I haven't bothered with the bow in literally over a year. Also, two stacks of Rags can be crafted into Improvised Rope. That should save your some time in your future bow-crafting endeavors.

First of all, the GTX 750 (even its Ti big brother) is awful. It's outperformed by its little brother (the GTX 580) that was released in 2010 that you can more than likely get your hands on for under $75. Secondly, the biggest difference in performance for me (lately) is setting Object Quality to Very Low. I have everything else on the highest setting, but if I raise Object Quality even to Normal, my performance suffers — even on a CPU that's clocked at 5.2GHz. I recently built a computer (specs in my profile) that I ended up selling because the performance in almost every game was so marginal compared to my older computer (that I'm using again, specs also in my profile). As people have said, this game is currently a mess. If you can score 40 FPS, consider yourself lucky.

Luckily, it hasn't rained in Chernarus in weeks! (At least for me...)

Bring back the glory days of the M4A1, Mosin, Magnum and FNX! Bring back NEAF and Balota PvP! Bring back what little optimization we had! When this game first launched I was running it on a GTX 580 SLI setup at 50-150 (yep, one hundred fifty) frames per second. Now? GTX 780 Ti SLI getting ~30-60 frames per second, if I'm lucky. I'd take DayZ at launch over what it is today, any day of the week. It was so much more fun, even though there was less loot. I've always felt like this game has too many guns in it, anyway. Peace and love.

Yeah, because it's an idea original to Dying Light, kappa. ROFLMAO

What is your honest opinion on the future of DayZ
Grimey Rick replied to karlkurtz32's topic in General Discussion
Darkness... Death... Recycle Bin. -
I'm barely allowed to play video games as it is, let alone read a fucking e-book within aforementioned video game.

Survivors of WHAT?!?!?! DayZ isn't a survival game. It might be in the future, but from 2012 to present,it hasn't been. Surviving in DayZ is about as difficult as making your bed.

Make sure to report public servers that kick for no reason
Grimey Rick replied to aurien's topic in General Discussion
I always thought servers reserved slots for the owner. e.g. A 30 player server only lets 29 people connect, if the setting is enabled. -
DayZ does PvP better than any other game as far as adrenaline is concerned, which is why most people play it. You cannot recreate the sense of loss, frustration, and angst that DayZ offers. Even playing H1Z1's survival mode is "meh" when you die. No one has been able to recreate that experience for me, hence me continuing to play after 1,600 hours and the mess that the game is still in.

People have been fighting in the same areas since 2012, and it's been peachy so far. Are you implying DayZ is going to die because every little town they've been adding recently is devoid of players?! Every town looks the same; they serve no purpose other than to take up space better used for us to hide our camps in so that we can restock when we die during, you guessed it, PvP. Searching for people's camps is the second most fun thing to do in DayZ, which is becoming trivial in the standalone. We're running out of woods, mang! @OP: NWAF, Veresnik, Vybor, Green Mountain, Balota, Chernogorsk, Elektrozavodsk, Berezino - these places will never fail you. Tried, tested and true since the mod. :D

These posts are literally the worst. DayZ is 90% PvP, always has been. When PvP dries up, so does your game.
