The Mod used to be good. Now it's mostly just Arma with zombies. Go for the Standalone.

The only thing multiple people can accomplish faster in DayZ is, in general, loot stuff faster. When it comes to surviving, you're better off on your own. I've lost count of how many 3-5 man squads I've destroyed by myself.

There shouldn't be a reticle at all. Once looting is fixed so that all loot (even stuff on top of dressers, for example) shows up in your "vicinity" menu, there's literally no need for the dot, either. -

Yeah, I had 1,500 hours back in October. Since then I've barely logged 100. They're gonna have to do better than this to lure me back before full release on a consistent basis! I play for maybe ten hours each new patch that hits stable. -

I both agree and disagree. I once looked back at the Mod through rose-colored glasses, but after returning to it recently, I realized how evil nostalgia can be. Both have their pros and cons, however, we still have a voice when it comes to the Standalone. I suggest you stay rather than quit and offer constructive criticism rather than cynical sob stories of how much you dislike it. Even if it ends up as a steaming pile of crap, you can at least say you tried, right? (; -

Yeah, that shit has been around forever. I remember back when you could still crawl under the original hangars at NEAF I managed to kill a guy that was trying to shoot me through the floor of the hangar. Anyway, I got him, and I crawled under to loot him. As I was laying there a zombie ran under as well and killed me in one shot. This was before the "healthy" status was implemented, but I was definitely 100% healthy as the guy didn't even manage to land a shot. Long story short, it's been around for at least a year now. -

You'll find lots of PvP at my house when I get home on May 8th. Apparently my kids scratched my 80" Samsung LED TV. I'll probably KoS them, tbh.

That's not true at all. Lol. I find it very hard to believe that someone who plays DayZ (a fairly niche game, even with 3,000,000 copies sold, considering USA alone has a population of 400,000,000+) doesn't play any first person shooter. How many complaints of motion sickness so you see in any other game? It's literally because of head bob and post-processing like someone else mentioned. -

First-person perspective for life. Too many people complain about motion sickness and headaches. Apparently they've never played any other FPS ever. It just feels better, and levels the playing field, preventing people on the high ground having supreme advantage over those on the low ground. -

Who cares if we run a little slower? I generally jog everywhere as it is. If I spot someone, it takes less than half the time to catch my breath in case shit hits the fan. What's the hurry? Sprinting for miles at a time is retarded, with or without vehicles. -
If it helps you decide, I was falsely banned by BattlEye once (it was later lifted) and I was using SweetFX at the time. I never really got a straight answer as to why I was banned.
