So, didnt play in a while: Now after 3 weeks, is this 0.59 the big throw that was announced, with all the "behind the curtain" improvements? Before the patch it was always reasoned that it takes so long to come out because so many fundamental parts of the game will be changed, are there big graspable changes?

The problem is, it won't. If you dont believe me, I can't prove it of course, but just wait a few years more and you will see. Best regards

Yeah sure. And if not then, then .60... or .61.... or .62.... lets wait a year or two, hope will die at some point.

People wrote things like this a year ago, and people will write it a year from now, always hoping that something great happens to the game...

Wow, one month of 0.58 "stable", without zombies, bad performance etc, and not even a new experimental yet...

Exactly.... They always say they work so much on the performance, and now they even almost removed all zombies because they are so bad for performance, and still the performance is horrible... good job guys.. I lost all hope this is every gonna work really well.

Hm ok thanks for the info, sounds like some good stuff at least. Will give it a try when it comes out... Just sad that they broke it day before planned release, server crashes, people reporting massive FPS drops... Well we'll see...

This is ridiculous, the DayZ development has really totally stalled over the last months, even worse than earlier. And .58 is another letdown, of all the major problems of the game, persistance is the only one being really adressed.... In the tweet he says that (12 hour uptime, and persistence) is the major improvment of this update... great...

Well, looking at how the development is going and considering how many unsolved issues there always will be with DayZ (even if many say otherwise..), I am sure there will never be a console version. Of course I can't prove that now, but you'll see in time... Not even sure we will ever get a really good stable PC version anyway. -

The whole melee system is just really bad at the moment (has always been), and I dont understand why so many people assume that we want to have it easier when we complain about it? It can be difficult, but it should not suck ass like it does now. I get the feeling that some people like to have a really bad and broken game, just because that makes the game hard aswell.. Here is a secret: there are good AND hard games... With a baseball bat? Hell yeah. With big pipe or wrench? Yeah. -
Does "custom server operator" mean that these are only servers NOT connected to the public hive? In that case that would be fine, but Im not sure from that description that they mean that?

Everyone has been waiting for this, but now that it is out, there is almost nothing interesting to read about it here? Another disappointing update with no real improvements then, I assume?

Are you serious? Like an hour after an update is released the forum here is full of comments about the main problems, and those then usually remain unfixed for weeks or month. Surely a lack of feedback is not the main problem these guys have.... And the comparison to GTA V is indeed really off, GTA should take much more time to develop when using the same circumstances, but of course they are not the same. None should forget that even when DayZ is finished some day, it still is a game basically without "real content". No Story, no Quests, no dialogues, nothing, just basic game mechanics. Make the same basic animations, crafting and whatever, and they should work for everyone under all circumstances directly, in case the engine is any good..... What do you think, how long does it take to create all those missions GTA has?

Even bigger problem: If you don't find other food, you will be long starved until you are able to hunt. In my eyes the biggest problem with all the hunting area..

'hard' zombies has nothing to do with ****ed up, bugged zombies that are just annoying to fight. Sure, make them hard, but give me an opportunity to dodge their hits, if I see that they clearly dont hit me with their animation, dont let them hit me... Otherwise I would have tried to move further away, like this i think "Well I'm fine", and then get hit anyway. Give me some feedback when I actually hit and when I don't. Why not give people the opportunity to block with a meele weapon as well? There are tons and tons of games out there which show how a meele system can work so much better. So I also see some positive points here, the increased number and bigger overall thread are better, as well as that some sneaking is possible now. But the fighting meachanics with the zombies are just horrible, and that should not be the main source of the increased difficulty. And it should be ok to state this here aswell.

Hej, have exactly the same problem, and also started with 0.54. Not using launch parameters either.

Sorry, but this here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/221336-054-issues/#entry2223408 is not really true I think. I have most of these problems, and I dont use any launch parameters or any strange kind of setup. So please try to find the problems, instead of just telling people all the time they should remove their launch parameters.... p.s. maybe to specify, I dont get the crash where it says something about "cant write to bla bla ba..", but Windows just warning me that my computer is running low on memory, which should really not be the case with 8 gb of ram. This also happened sometimes with 0.53, but got much more frequent now. Also, while I play my screen sometimes goes back to the "receiving" screen, and if I'm lucky I can play again after some seconds. If not, I have to kill Dayz using the task manager.
