Shut up Zod. You're just scared that you won't be able to sit there and snipe from whatever area you like. I hope this happens, so that morons like you get put in your place. Oh... and before you retort about how "being a douchebag" is a legit way to play a SURVIVAL game, perhaps you should check out the definition of SURVIVAL. MrBecause is well within the right here, and you're proving his point. If they kill your reason for existing in DayZ, all the better in pretty much EVERYONE'S opinion. If you want to cause misery, leave the confines of your house. I'm pretty sure that'll cause more than enough misery. -

Dedicated to WHAT?! There will NEVER BE any objectives in this type of game! This is what you jerks seem to lack an understanding of! What exactly is the point of being an asshole like this? Hmm? Because you like to troll? Go @#$%ing play Halo then. That's more your speed. -

a ) You're clearly an asshole. b ) It's a wonder you'd have any friends. c ) I don't like your fucking attitude kiddo. d ) Once things are properly implemented, people like YOU will have a harder time sniping from your comfortable place because Pristine LRS spawns will be NIL! -
Hey everyone. So I'm in class and an idea just hit me. I noticed, while running around at airfields/military outposts, that the spawn rate of pristine scope mods (ACOG, PU, LRS, RDS), while not high, is still excessive. I have come across more pristine scopes than damaged or badly damaged. While it's nice to find these, they lessen player interactions. The further your range, the easier it is to pick targets off with these pristine scopes. Also, the KoS CoD Kiddies have the ease of access to their comfort zone of sniping from wherever they wish with the Mosin/LRS combo. I do not ask for less mod spawns, but rather, more DAMAGED mod spawns. This evens the playing field for most everyone, and makes it so that players have to get a little closer than they're comfortable with. Player-to-player interaction is the thing that counts the most in this survival environment, that's my thought anyway. Besides that, the spawns of large backpacks are still far too abundant. I've come across at least 6 mountain backpacks and 12 hunting backpacks in the last 24 hours... a little much. Those should be lowered significantly to reduce the amount of things people are lugging around. That way players will get a sense of urgency when their tiny Taloon Pack or Child's Briefcase Backpack runs out of food/water/ammo/essentials. There needs to be a focus, rather than people running around with full mountain/hunting packs with ammo boxes, protector cases, medkits and enough ammunition to make a military firing range look like a playground, and enough food/water to supply all of Cherno. Last but not least, server hopping. Though I am glad that combat loggers are being made to suffer a little bit, there should be rolling penalties. Some people on the forums have mentioned this already. However, I'll state it again for their voices to be heard once more. The more times players switch servers to find loot at airfields/military bases or wherever, the more intense the penalties should become. At first it's a 5 minute wait. Not a big deal to the average hopper. After that there should be an internal timer that makes it so that if they hop again within that timer, the wait jumps to 10 minutes, then 15, then 20, and so on. Punish the hoppers that run around grabbing all the good loot so that they can go back to med-high pop servers to kill fresh spawns. Players who play regularly on specific servers are suffering at the hands of these "Hopper Bandits". It's unjust and one-sided. They shouldn't be rewarded for having tons of free time on their hands, while the rest of us are at work/school/job hunting. Yeah the people who put in more time will have more loot, but restrict it to A server. Not ALL of them. It's much fairer to everyone, and loot will be more available to the other servers that have regular players. My squad mates and I go from server to server day by day, but we pick a server and spend the evening on it. Anywho, those would be my ideas. I hope you'll consider them, Rocket. I think they'll make DayZ a better game for everyone who isn't there just to snipe people for no reason. :)

Allow me to expand on this for you. KoS CoD Kiddies, or KCKs for short, do not kill for supplies or what have you. See this is the thing. If I get KoSed because I have a mountain backpack and they assumed I might have supplies for their group, fine. But these jerkoffs just KoS and leave the body there. Their excuse is that they're "bored" because there's nothing to do. NEWS FLASH! THERE NEVER WILL BE ANYTHING TO DO! IT'S A SURVIVAL GAME! NOT CALL OF DUTY OR WORLD OF WARCRAFT! So yes, they piss the entire community off. There's necessity, and then there's just being an asshole. And that's what they do. If I get killed because I have supplies and then I get looted, that is one thing. If I get robbed, but survive, I don't even care. At least I survived. And they may only take what they need. But KoS CoD Kiddies have no F@#$ing excuse! And if one of them tried to justify this to me face-to-face, I'd probably break his god damn nose. They are as useless as hackers. Scumbags, the lot of them. Is that enough of an explanation? Or do I have to draw anyone a picture? -
Hey again everyone. So I thought about something, which affects the style of DayZ and the KoS noobs. Military gear is far too abundant. "well how so?" Think about it. Everyone moves as fast as they can to an airfield/military base to get decked in TTsKO and have as many slots as possible for gear. This also makes the new clothing that they keep introducing moot, because everyone keeps going after the tactical gear. The fact that it's rather EASY to get into this gear makes it that much harder for the players who HAVE LIVES to get anything good at all. The KoS noobs I'm guessing have far too much time on their hands, and therefore get access to all the good stuff very quickly, making our efforts moot. However, if the loot for military gear were to get massive reductions in spawn rates, then everyone would be on an even playing field and DayZ would really start to become a survival experience. Please take note, that yes I may have an issue with the KoS morons, but I also noted that the game feels too close to STALKER when the military gear is so abundant. The playing field needs to be adjusted to reflect the "survival" aspect. Guns are one thing, but as I previously posted, the ammunition is far too available. The second ammo and military gear is scarce, the more difficult the game will be, making surviving a real chore. That's the POINT of suriving. It's not supposed to be so easy that all of a sudden some asshole with a Mosin can snipe the coast all day because he has max pockets and 1000 rounds of ammunition. That's not survival at that point. By then it's a "Human Hunter" shooter, which isn't fun because the people with full on military gear and ammo win automatically since they have more time on their hands than anyone else. What are your thoughts community?

Military Gear lootspawns need immense reductions
Baklavah replied to Baklavah's topic in Suggestions
I understand where you're coming from. But the KoS CoD Kiddies have a comfort zone. And that comfort zone is the MASSIVE range they get with a Mosin/LRS. Take that away, it won't be fun for them anymore, and they'll leave, realizing they just wasted 30$ because now they can't just snipe people and get away with it. They are all pretty much of the same mind-set. Predictable, even. The second you screw over a troll, they lose interest because it isn't fun anymore. That's the point I was trying to make. -
How to avoid being killed by bandits?
Baklavah replied to tailgaterz69's topic in General Discussion
I expect that eventually playing on High Pop servers will eventually be the norm. It's not fun if there's literally zero player interaction. Once there are ways to lessen (if not stop altogether) the stupidity of the KoS CoD Kiddies, it will be much more entertaining. I expect hold-ups, some deaths due to failed hold-ups, and some fire-fights over territory. However, those interactions sound more likely to be up close and personal, rather than the "I just got sniped from I have no idea where" situations everyone's running into because the KoS CoD Kiddies are "bored". This is a survival game. There is no objective list for you to follow, there never will be. If you want objectives/quests/whatever, go play WoW or some other obscure MMO to satisfy your "boredom". Your kind is not wanted in these types of games. You only cause servers to empty and you piss everyone off. FYI you KCKs (I'm shortening it because I'm getting sick of typing it out right now...) are considered to be scum, the same as hackers. You're probably thinking "trollolol sum1s mad cuz ded frum sniped!" Though there is truth in my frustrations with you idiots, I have one clear thing to say: "Once being a douchebag becomes difficult for you and the ease of killing fresh spawns has diminished, you'll move on to other games because you can't do things your way. Your kind is predictable, so enjoy your jollies while you can. I'll be laughing away once your stupidity has been dampened." -
Military Gear lootspawns need immense reductions
Baklavah replied to Baklavah's topic in Suggestions
I agree with your above statements. However, one thing I would like to see is MUCH less ammunition and large backpack spawns. Ammo should be very scarce, larger backpacks should not be so abundant... there's always someone running around with a Hunting Backpack (I've found 12 so far in the last 24 hours. Long Range Scopes should be EXTREMELY rare for two reasons. One, to stop the stupidity of KoS snipers popping people from a hill because they can. Two, to force people into player-to-player interactions. Same for ACOG scopes for the M4. And even if they do spawn, they should have a very high chance of being Badly Damaged. I've found so many pristine/worn scopes in the last day that it's become rather absurd. The reason the KoSing even happens is because the stupid KoS CoD Kiddies are able to snipe from the comfort of whatever range they choose thanks to the Mosin/LRS combo. If that becomes ridiculously difficult to obtain, KoS banditry from ridiculous ranges will happen less often, and perhaps more hold-ups will happen with less needless bloodshed (I would hope anyway). Take away their comfort zones, and the KoS asshats will be easier to spot, easier to kill, and easier to discourage from their stupidity. Other than all that, I wholeheartedly agree that there should be a MUCH more severe penalty for server hoppers. More loot will be available to the regular players on those servers, and the server hoppers will stop getting so excessively geared so quickly while everyone else who has a life is doing what they need to do. Here's hoping these types of changes will make their way into DayZ Standalone and make it a proper survival game, instead of a "This-is-kind-of-a-survival-game-just-stay-away-from-towns-because-of-douchebags-have-a-nice-day-z" game. -

Player Storage. Think back to the DayZ Mod. How else can players gather resources for survival? Carry everything on them so that they can lose 100% of what they gathered? Storage is a necessary component. Do some research before you question something's importance. -
Hello everyone, So, my friends and I were at Northwest Airfield last night, and the memory leak got 2/3 of us killed... showed up out of nowhere. There were two people there that we were going to assist, who then turned on us. Thanks a lot you useless douchebags. The reason KoS CoD Kiddies exist is you morons. You ask for assistance and then open fire on those who would help you out of kindness. Good job. (I hope you got sniped fyi). Anyway. The deathloop has my two pals stuck at the coast, unconscious and/or dead. If this update was going to fix anything, it really didn't... don't know if anyone else is having the deathloop issue? Would be nice to know. ~Bak

And never get any kind of significant loot. Your logic, is non-existent. Even if there was something to do in the game (which, there won't be an objective... IT'S A SURVIVAL GAME!) the extent of it is just this: STAY ALIVE! It isn't "Get loot and go killing fresh spawns"! People like you are the reason this threat exists. First of all, you've just given us EVERY ounce of knowledge as to why you god damn CoD kiddies do what you do. You run off to low pop servers to get gear, and then go to high pop servers to KoS because you're "bored". If characters were server-locked, none of you would be able to do what you do. I know there will be players killing other players, that's not the thing I'm irritated about. It's the fact that you guys KoS without any reasoning whatsoever. If you want a game with objectives, GO PLAY STORYMODE GAMES (World of Warcraft is right up your alley! Thousands of quests and pointless achievements)! Jeezus. ~Bak -

Another thing that needs to happen, of course, is that zombie "horde patrols" need to be added, "State of Decay" style. That will screw with everyone's day and then the KoSing should lessen. And not just some teeny tiny 10 zombie hordes... like 20-30. THAT would be epic. -
Soooo... new patch has a Memory Leak? Who else has experienced this and can confirm? ~Bak

How to avoid being killed by bandits?
Baklavah replied to tailgaterz69's topic in General Discussion
See... I would normally agree with everyone who's saying "stay away from the coast", but aren't you forgetting that these assholes are also camping all of the military areas? There's no way for us to get gear without getting sniped at. Some of us have lives (granted I'm on and it's 4am but it's SATURDAY MORNING! The hell do I care about the time right now?) and cannot be on at RIDICULOUS hours during the week to camp and overstock on ammo at the military garrisons/airfields. And of course no one listens to the giant CAPS on servers that scream "LOOT ONLY NO KoS!" and it's not even enforced, so there's no way to counter these scumbags. What would you have us do? I mean, yeah I got myself a shotgun last night, but it doesn't mean SHIT against a Mosin or an SKS, let alone an M4. If it was a Pump-Action or a Combat Shotgun with slugs (which I have yet to see since the introduction of the SKS and the breaking of tent loot spawns) then MAYBE there's some fraction of a chance. But no, we got stuck with a double-barrel PoS that couldn't hit the broad side of Godzilla's mother for any amount of money. Explicky the awesome wisdoms pl0x. I wish to know how to counter douchebaggery, short of renting my own damn server and instantly making all KoS assholes die upon shooting someone. ~Bak -

You know, I see the angles you're coming from. And for the most part I agree with your points. However, just because they get a kick out of it doesn't make it any less of a pain in the ass for people. My friend and I were just at the coast. We were about to head inland. We just met up, started running and BAM.... sniped. Really? Go snipe your own goddamn kind... stupid bandits. If you're so bored, go start a firefight. But no, they don't want to do that, because they're cowards and are afraid to fight a real fight. Instead they pick on the defenseless. That, in every universe, is pathetic. Completely unjustified, boredom or no. I'm a patient person, but not when I die every 10 minutes. That's just irritating. -
Hey everyone. So... this is going to sound like a REALLY stupid question... but how exactly does zeroing work? I'm not too clear on any of the details... and I grabbed the mosin, snapped an LRS on there and then pumped the zeroing up to 800 (everything was pristine, even the compensator) and I couldn't hit the broad side of ANYTHING. I had the shots lined up properly, I'm sure, and the bullets were going left, right, way around targets... so... clearly I don't understand. And yet, when I had an M4, I threw the "battery-powered" RDS on it and brought the zeroing down to 50 and I could hit targets across an airfield. So... utterly... confused... Please help clear up my noobtastic understanding of zeroing. Many thanks! ~Bak
