Improve it in your opinion...others may see that a bit different. I said it before: I dont care as long as I have the option to play 1st person hardcore. (I see no need per se since if I let myself get "cornercamped" it was my fault but ok) But this is no mod this is seriuos business so I want them to cater to many players in a way

Like I said if that were the case the majority would have decided not to play by your rules you could then deal with it... Like I also said there are enough hardcore servers as there are in any other game that offers a hardcore option there are significantly fewer players that prefer hardcore but they exist and they have servers.

I think that we could potentially agree on many things and maybe disagree on as many as well. I still remain adamant that changing existing and accepted gameplay at such a basic level like point of view should be done only after consultation of the playerbase. (Less basic things can always be changed) The money from the players of regular also benefits hardcore!

Since 1pp and 3pp are selfcontained your argument about "skill" (ahahahaha) is not relevant. (people want to play easy? good for them. people want to play hard? have at it) As long as the difficulty in context is the same for everyone it is just a matter of choice. (but we all admire your mighty epeen :rolleyes: such awe!)

Yawn just read what you wrote and realise the steaming pile of bullshit that is. There are enough hardcore servers to play on and enough full ones also (maybe you are filtering the full ones? or you are just bullshitting) If everyone would leave hardcore (which will not happen) you could also change or quit playing - that is how democracy works...

They should not make any changes without consulting the playerbase. (And by playerbase I do not mean the forums) I personally don't care how 3pp looks like in the end - but look at it this way: If most people prefer 3pp and if the prefer being able to peek (which you can do in almost all 3pp games) then it means that most people (as you said it yourself) play on 3pp. So by changing that without consulting what the players want they risk alienating players and furture players. Since players are customers that would result in less money. Less money means less development. Less development means less features / bugfixes for 1pp and 3pp. Last but not least there are the c***s that want to dictate how others should play the game. And I would vote against their ideas (even if I like them) just on the offchance that I could piss those condescending entitled brats off.

And if that is the way it is? The devs were kind enough to have hardcore game mode available. How nice of them to cater to the people wanting something else. And how do you guys react to that? You want the other game mode changed also...

I wasnt finished and edited something in while you responded. Missing part: Thing is that most people play reg over hardcore and they do so for a reason and aside from a minority here in the forums I have never witnessed someone wanting 3pp any other way. So since I like the game and want it to prosper - yeah let them have ALL the 3pp "exploits" they want as long as that secures the development of feature for the game I can then ultimately enjoy in hardcore.

The crutch is removed it is called hardcore.If you want realism you would hardly want something different from 1st person view. In that regard it is pointless to want to change regular. And the proverbial vocal (not to say loudmouthed) minority aside everyone else seems to be okay with the 3pp atm. And if that helps diversify and by that extending the playerbase there will be more money to benefit hardcore and regular game mode. If you cannot see that you are blind. But the real issue at hand is - that all you realism blablabla 3pp exploit people really want 3rd person view but without the drawbacks. So you just want a different "crutch" (Your words not mine. I just can't stand hypocrites)

I play hardcore and I play regular. If you adjust your playstyle you can adjust for both gametype pros and cons. In regular I feel constanly like I'm being watched and with me mostly haunting Elektro that will be true very often. So I play different and take other paths to move about and trying to combat the disadvantages I would have if I would just approach that fence straight. When playing hardcore I feel A LOT safer from prying eyes and I play in a way that lets me approach structure so I can lean the corners to get a peak (CS style + added benefit of actual leaning in game). Sneaking up on snipers in the elektro hills is way easier in hardcore / stalking someone is so much easier in regular It basically is potato patata BUT IT IS YOUR CHOICE WHAT MODE YOU PLAY AND OTHERS CAN ALSO PLAY LIKE THEY WANT

You scan a approach vector and when someone approaches you set yourself up and ambush the shit out of whoever has the bad luck to enter your trap. But most important: GO PLAY HARDCORE

If I enter a corridor of one of the tec buildings. You can only come from the right and move to the left. If I position my self on the staircase you can only move from left to right. You show up I shoot. Of course I would know someone is coming the map is far to big to just camp. So you see someone coming up - you know they will check (90% unlooted tec building its nearly 100%) the building you set yourself up.

Are you serious? Just factor that in and choose your path accordingly. And what about 1st person view... If I lie down in a corridor or behind a door then I will have a MASSIVE advantage. Also remove elevations since the environment in that case give the one higher up a distinctive advantage ... LETS REMOVE THE GUNS!!!!! We must do it because someone with a gun has in certain situations a massive advantage over other player. But thats your opinions. And you all seem to just play regular - and being killed alot to that - because you sound so hurt. That is true but since they decided to use another engine (yes technically it is just another version but I am sure the differences are so big they basically started over from scratch) and are throwing things together rather quickly right now those things are to be expected. On the upside they will have a good knowledge on how the different duping methods work and how to fix them. So when they start it will hopefully be quick. Some people only enjoy the combat atm for them the "gearing up" part is the boring thing - so they cut corners

I quoted the part of the review where they state that surround does work - maybe I added that in while you replied - please have a look instead of just ignoring it and then bail out with something like "I'm just gonna leave you to it". Also the Headphones cost like 70€ on Amazon how on earth is that excessively expensive? That is right, but you can be sure that the devs know that already. They will start the real bugfixing when ALPHA (content creation) is done and the game enters BETA

Exactly There is nothing wrong with wanting things the way you would prefer it. Dictating others on how to behave based on that is what drives me crazy...my 2 1/2 year old behaves like that ffs

This dissertation is not by any chance published or available? As I pointed out to Weedz above have a look at the review by tom'sHardware it is working! Is a surround speaker system better? It sure is! But that does not mean that surround headset do not work at all. And if you live with your family or have your own you need to compromise and surround headsets (maybe not all) are a valid compromise. (I have a 7.1 surround speaker system, a soundbar "surround" system (that I dont like), a virtual surround headset (laptop), and several Medusa headsets since I stick to them since nearly 10 years. So I can compare)

Which surround headsets do you own? As much as I hate to say it: The game is ALPHA / early access That means they are mostly concerned to create game content. (They will break the game ALOT) Sure they will take care of gamebreaking things since without that we could not guinea pig for them but they try to create the "raw" game first. Then when BETA comes they will concentrate on bugfixing. So we will have to sit this out.

If you think that is behaving mature you really need to think again - hard. You behave exactly like the edit I did to my post after you started quoting it. If I play on 3pp servers I play in 1st person most of the time since combat suits me more that way. The world has not ended because of it. Also there are enough hardcore servers to play on - so that is a blatant lie.

Then play hardcore - and leave people that don't want to play hardcore the fuck alone. Since they will be on other servers / hive they will not bother anyone on hardcore. Seriously you behave like someone who tries to dictate what kind of difficulty setting people "have to" use in games. Ya surround headset work real fine. It is either virtual surround where the sound is processed and certain elements are delayed/sped up so your brain cretaes the surround. Or there are more and differently positioned speakers in the earpiece that can easily told apart. Please go online buy one of these for example: http://www.speedlink.com/?p=2&cat=41A3&pid=27063&paus=1 and then just test the surround in windows/system/sound (you know when the sound is played "front left", "center", "front right") It works. On the other hand sound in Dayz SA is bugged like hell so it does not matter which soundcard/headsets sometimes you will not hear a shot across the street.

WTF? What both of you write is really stupid. "Safety blanket" is bollocks... Both game modes are exactly the same challenge for PVP because the set of rules are the same for every participant. Calling others scrubs for using a crutch...You are the one that refuses to play hardcore because you need your 3pp for "immersion" and "awareness"... You just want your crutch tailored to your specific needs.
