Rocket standing down from Dayz by end of year
Adaedin replied to Hetstaine's topic in General Discussion
I got over 200 hours worth of entertainment (and agony) out if this game. Thirty dollars well spent, even if the doomsayers are right. I think my purchase was a wiser decision than a AAA single-player title with ten hours of gameplay priced at sixty dollars. -
Approximate percentage of female DayZ players

Why the dayz formula will ultimately fail

The current state of the game in no way resbles the develops vision. Ever heard of the term, "alpha"? Besides , when it eventually does become more 'realistic' and actually difficult to traverse and survive Chernarus, it'll weed out the denomination of players that are in it for the death match. -
I'm not entirely sure if this's the thread to be posting this in, but. I recently logged on, my character having been logged on at the outskirts of the NW airfield. Encountering another player whom began to shoot at me, I shot back- only to find out that despite having taken my finger off the mouse button, it continued to fire. I went through three of my 40-round magazines trying to fix this issue, and still, it emptied my entire magazine despite clicking just once. I reassigned keys, and even went as far as to re install the game for this first issue. Still, no luck. The other problem I'm having (if this is a problem) is that my first and third perspective are messed up. I'm not sure if this was an extremely recent update, but when I use my FoV slider it zooms me in as if I was holding down the right mouse button used to for me if the FoC is all the way on the right/full, and it zooms me out only so I can see the top half of my body if its all the way on the left/empty. I tried fixing everything in the video settings and my resolution, but still, nothing. If anyone can tell me what's going on, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

How many Women play this game and what do you think about it?

Are you logging out somewhere safe? If not, you're getting killed because of the new mechanic where your character stays on the server for thirty seconds, despite logging off.

The logout timer could use some adjusting, granted. But OP's suggestion- sorry, DEMAND- is ludicrous. -

So plain and simple, I'm curious as to what everyone's craziest firefights and player encounters, or anything reminiscent to that. With a game that offers as much flexibility as DayZ, I know someone has got to have a wild story or two. Personally, I haven't been in that many out-there situations until recently due to my friends buying the game, despite having over a hundred hours on the game. Two nights ago my friend and I were playing on a 40/40, all-day server. Fully kitted out, we decided what sort of trouble we could get into, or at least watch, as we headed towards Elektro. Crawling through the brush on the hill that snipers frequent, we began to scan the area for players. Seeing several relatively fresh spawns scurrying about, what caught my eye were two mosin-wielding gentlemen atop the hospital. However it just do happened they saw us, just as we saw them. Wielding M4's, we weren't as well-equipped despite having bipods and the pristine magpul stocks. This however, seemed to set off a violent chain reaction. An axe-wielding player with no pants and a raincoat rushed to the top of the hospital and began to hack away at the the snipers while we began to take M4 fire from behind. Scrambling for cover, we suddenly realized that the person behind us managed to get into a firefight with two -other- people behind us. A melee also broke out in the streets, a total of what seemed to be upwards of 17 players taking part in the vicious bloodbath. We decided a tactical withdrawal was in our best interest and ex filtrate the area north, billets flying every which way, the screams of dismembered players blasting through VOIP. So, what's your craziest moment?

When you're at the main menu, just click your name and you'll be able to type in whatever you want.

Holy crap, haha. Thank you so much. That was the problem. XD

No servers showing up on server selection screen?

I'm having the same problem too. :L -
The title obviously alludes to what I think'd be cool to implement in the game at -some point-, not necessarily in the near future or even within a year. Regardless. I'd been talking with my friend about this whilst jogging down a road in-game, and we had some fun talking about it and decided one've is would post it here, and give it a shot. Random events. Possibly in the vein of Guild Wars 2, or Red Dead Redemption, GTA 5, etc. Something like purging an area of a zombie infestation, transporting -person or object- from A to B whole fending off bandits and zombies alike, siege defense (maybe the castles?), etc. Something cool that you run by- or maybe announced via server message- and partake in, that printed both cooperation AND PvP. It'd also add a little bit of flavor, I'd say. And really, I wouldn't even care if there was a payout. Ammo, kiwis, beans, etc. It'd just feel interactive and alive. The second thing, is bounties. Primarily on the head of a player that's been doing a massive amount of noob ganking and otherwise jerkwad-esque behavior. Like I said before, there doesn't have to be a payout of loot. It'd just be cool I think. But yeah, that's all!

I like the idea of exploring one. Just not actually jailing people, haha.

The walkie-talkies make the most sense, yeah. Or you just happen upon them, or hear a commotion in the distance and check it out. I thought of it more as an on-the-spot deal.
