Uhh noooo. Rocket can call it what he likes but Alpha/Beta are objective classifications that will depend 100% on the state of the game. Plus, they've already said half a dozen times that it will be alpha. FYI: Alpha: Content being developed added, possible tweaks to the engine, focus on testing content rather than general bug hunting. Beta: Game is 99% content complete, further work is for balance, testing mechanics, and general bug hunting. -
Any player is a potential threat, an unarmed player is just an armed player waiting to happen. I'm not going to leave that at my back. That is all. Edit: I'll give an example: the last unarmed player I killed was working his way though an industrial building, bottom up, and was clearly unarmed. I had an axe, I knew there was another axe in the top floor of his building, so rather than abandon the area I took him out. it was either that or let him take the axe and put myself in a much more risky position.

Bump. We're a long standing Dayz clan and play frequently, we're easy going but organised. If you're bored of playing alone and want to join a small friendly clan for some team based gameplay then PM the OP, strictly mature gamers only, 18+, and must be willing to use mumble.

Where are all the vehicles :S

Oh believe me, the clans do have them, and some will be stored up north, others to the west, but many will also be around the map... whats the point of a vehicle after all if its stashed in the middle of nowhere. But yeah, speaking as a clanner myself, clans usually have most of the vehicles, and in fact spend most of their time stealing them from each other. -
you can't reload it manually (not by any method i've tried) but it does replenish on server restart.

Will trade AS50 for M24

M24 is a nice rifle, accurate enough for long range headshots and it doesn't stick out as much as an AS50, ammo is also a lot more common - if you discount duping. Cant beat the AS50 for range and stopping power though. Also I think the AS50 (with nato) is quieter in game than the M24, though the AS50 definitely has a larger zed aggro radius. On the whole the AS50 is better, but the M24 if the rifle of choice if you're interested in skill shots. Sort of like the scout vs AWP argument in CS. -
Confirmed. That particular dupe doesn't work in 2.5, lets hope Rocket nails the other dupe methods in 1.7.3 and then does a tent wipe.

Confirmed graphic glitches not fixed, myself and everyone in my clan still have the glitches, it seems no different than before.

Don't be ridiculous. We already have TDM just in the clan vs clan format, bandit skins are not going to make a jot of difference to the over all gameplay - as we all know 95% of people shoot on sight regardless, especially as humanity recharges over such a short period. All the bandit and hero skins really do is add a little more flavour to the game, as a gameplay mechanic they are inert. -
if those parts are an indication of your budget then I think you're going to struggle. I'm hoping you can stretch further, can you give a definitive budget? THe speed isn't a calculated gameplay mechanic, its a hack to make them effective whilst their path finding AI is so retarded. Ever noticed that they run in zig-zags when they spot you? thats not intentional.

uh, actually they are extremely easy too lose in a forest, all you have to do is keep breaking the line of sight, i.e. put trees and bushes between them and you and just keep doing that... 9/10 you lose them all within a minute. @OP Zombies are little more than an annoyance, if even that, they are supposed to be the primary driving force of the game. THe only way to resolve that is to make them much MUCH more of a threat, not the other way round.

There is hacking and there is hacking. IMO there is a world of difference between an aimbot and being able to spawn nukes and teleport people.

You know that the colour leeches out when you have reduced blood right? if you're not at 12,000 blood the colours will be less vivid, to the point of greyscale at very low blood. -
OK since the guns got nerfed in the recent beta many are way too pokey. The pistols are now practically useless, and to be frank how realistic is it that it takes over 10 bullets to kill someone at point blank range? I suggest double the damage for all guns currently doing less than 2k damage. Then half survivor blood to 6k. That would be about right. EDIT: Link added for reference http://dayzdb.com/da...apon-comparison Particularly the AK-74's, all sub-machine guns, and all pistols. Damage is just too low.

The map isn't that big, there are really only a handful of viable (good) camp sites for large camps - you will only know these if you are in a clan. THe heat map will show everyone. Seriously, the best camp sites are being used by more than one clan on more than one server, i'd go so far as to say if the 5 best sites at least one of them will be being used on almost every single server - so it doesn't matter if the heat map is aggregate an anonymous, it will still show common camp sites. -
Reduced AKM/AK74 spawn, replace with SKS

AKM needs to be more common, at the expense of NATO guns. THis is an Russian state after all. I can't see any canon reason for reducing the spawn rate of the AKM, as for gameplay balance reasons... fuck that, DayZ is not about "balanced" gameplay mechanics. Tweaking spawn rates is entirely pointless until the duping bugs are fixed. -
Ah, so many things in this mod need overhauling, It hardly seems worth picking on any particular area. But yes, survival needs to be a challenge, even for experienced players. What we have at the moment is new players complaining that its impossibly hard and veteran players who find survival utterly trivial. But then, we can talk about tweaking loot spawns or other mechanics until we're blue in the face and none of it will matter so long as duping is so easy and prevalent. Not to mention hacking.

1 = so few people actually do this that I think we can safely ignore it. 2 = Do we really have a choice about this now its everyone KoS? 3 = Group = Clan warfare (more or less) 4 = Solo is only really an option for a few weeks IMO, then it just gets boring. So, 4 isn't end game, its what you do before end game, 1 we can ignore, 2 we have no choice over, and that leaves 3: Clan Warfare. -
Yes its a fine gun, but my complaint isn't about the gun that I personally have (my clan has almost every gun in the game on our tents) its about the damage of the guns in the game in general, and especially those that do < 4000 damage. I hope he does.
