Its just anoying!SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THAT !
deepfried replied to franjozubcic's topic in General Discussion
personally i've never had a major problem with finding loot. Sure you get scenarios where whole towns and cities are completely looted... hell give me 1/2/ hour and i'll do it myself. But the point is there are other villages and towns to walk to, at least some of them wont have been looted, and by the time you've walked round them all the server will have restarted and reset the loot anyway. Just consider it an opportunity to roleplay a survival situation where the bigger towns have already been looted... I know Dayz is a deathmatch game, but you know, there is some survival gameplay in there too if you look for it. -
Let's be honest we are all killers.. Try your hardest not to lie. Thanks

A hero skin doesn't necessarily mean much, with clans in particular its not uncommon for at least one guy in a bandit group to run a hero skin, gives you a natural negotiator for inter-clan relations and, in origins at least, there are other advantages too. -

When there are a proper number of zombies, the looting will be much harder, and so places won't be looted out so much. -

Nope, I kill bitches for sport. I stop short of killing new spawns, but as soon as you have an axe you're on my hit list. -
Guys... have a tiny modicum of patience. I know thats a hard concept for you adhd kiddies but really, a few seconds, you can do it.

35-50 fps on my system and hardcore lags!?anyone have same issue´s
deepfried replied to survivor85's topic in General Discussion
For me the biggest performance boost comes from turning off ambient occlusion, I get about +15fps with that off, trouble is it turns itself back on every time I load the game, so i have to go into the settings and turn it back off every time. OP: 35-50 FPS is good, very good in fact for that processor, many people would kill for that. The game just isn't optimised for high frame rates. -
So ya food and hunger is pretty messed up.

Um, right above your post, where I mention wanting a proper fatigue and weight system. -
So ya food and hunger is pretty messed up.
deepfried replied to Slyguy65's topic in General Discussion
You start the game with a big energy deficit, you're basically starved, malnourished and bordering on dehydration, so you need to eat and drink loads to build you back up tp a "normal state" (healthy) from where you can just maintain your energy levels by eating normally. Bear in mind a can of beans is about 300 calories, a man's normal calorific intake should be about 2500 calories a day, so thats like 8 cans of beans. Never mind that running all over chernarus carrying a heavy pack and guns is going to mean you're burning more like 6000 calories than 2500. No, the food and drink system is pretty good overall, it needs some tweaking sure but there are much bigger issues to address first. Like a proper weight and fatigue system, and calorie/water burn being relative to exertion. -
Ridiculous, but also slightly hilarious.

Dude, its a mushroom, and I think you've been eating way too many of them.

Character Died from 5ft drop (estimate)
deepfried replied to TiptonSamurai's topic in General Discussion
When you buy a game in early access you should expect to have nothing but problems with it. Its not finished, not even nearly finished. If you don't want to have loads of problems with your games then don't buy games in early access. -
DayZ Standalone: COMPLETE list of all the books in the game and screenshots of their cover!
deepfried replied to marsmars's topic in General Discussion
Um... you know books do have a use.... you could read them. -
I'm guessing they don't have a huge dev team, actually my guess is that its pretty small, you need to realise that dayz is a side project of a fairly small independent company.
-
To be frank, at the moment at least, if you want to team up with people then I suggest you do it through the forum. 9/10 people or more that you meet in game will try to kill you.

Difficult to find a hardcore server with a reasonable population
deepfried replied to stealth_katsu's topic in New Player Discussion
I assume you're talking about US servers? I haven't seen much of a problem on European servers. I mean there are always hardcore servers with a 20+ pop for me to join if I want to. I think its certainly true that there are less people playing on the hardcore servers, and you do see quite few with under 10 players, but most of these are in a night cycle. -
I can't see how 3rd person is helping this game..
deepfried replied to infiltrator's topic in New Player Discussion
To be fair they could fix the abuse of 3PP with mechanics, other games do, for example you can have the camera zoom in closer to your character when there is an object in front of your face thus preventing you from seeing over the wall or whatever.... not perfect but just an example of how the abuse could be addressed with more development. -
What are your biggest concerns and fears regarding the near/far future of the game?
deepfried replied to joe_mcentire's topic in General Discussion
my only real "fear" is that hacking gets out of control, I know its way better than it ever was in the mod at the moment but it doesn't take much in a high stakes game like dayz for the experience to be ruined. -
Fruit should be collectible from under fruit trees. Just a thought. Also it depends how long after outbreak this is, if its a month then its possible for some fruit to still be relatively fresh, especially if its been irradiated. Edit: god damn ninja.

Character Died from 5ft drop (estimate)
deepfried replied to TiptonSamurai's topic in General Discussion
its not "working out its kinks", that would be beta, this is early alpha i.e. the game has only a fraction of the content of the full release and what there is is in active development (i.e. its mostly broken). As for a refund I think steam will give you one if you ask for it, but only one, so you might want to consider carefully if this game is going to be your one and only refund ever. -
Don't miss :) Besides, its my experience that most people are pretty shocked in the first few seconds of combat so you have time for more shots if you miss the first.

They both have their pros and cons, the Mosin is currently the only viable mid and long range weapon, and as its one shot kill it also makes a very effective cqb weapon imo. The M4 shines in situations where you have to lay down more fire quickly, such as facing multiple opponents at once, or shooting a fast moving target that is taking evasive action. Having to chose between the two, I go for the Mosin, as most combat situations are vs a single opponent, plus you can get Mosins and 7.62 ammo from residentials, so you don't have to risk military loot spawns to get them.

Healing after being shot through food?
deepfried replied to thequantum's topic in New Player Discussion
the long and short of it is you need to eat and drink a LOAD to fill all your meters to capacity, also how full your stomach is doesn't correlate to how well fed you are, there is a separate meter, so you may have to stuff yourself a few times to get to the healing/healthy status. -
The mouse control in Arma 3 is fine for me too, however in Dayz its still just as broken as it is in Arma 2. Well, heres hoping that Dayz 2 is a fork off the Arma 3 version of the engine.

How exactly do you think GPS works? "an aligned satellite" there are dozens of them, and all they do is transmit an ID and a timestamp, your GPS does the rest by triangulation.

Duplication exploit - need for global wipe?
deepfried replied to frosti's topic in General Discussion
Character wipes aren't really necessary, just fix the dupe bug and the rest will work out in time. its not like people can horde duped loot in tents or vehicles.
