I'm going to give you some advice, its not just cynical advice, its practical advice: 1) If you see someone and they don't see you, try to keep it that way. 2) Only use chat as a last resort (you're cornered and outnumbered... nothing to lose by trying to talk your way out). 3) Assume everyone is hostile as the majority are (really). That doesn't mean shoot on sight but it does mean don't make contact unless you want to catch bullets. 4) If you don't mind dying a lot (and I mean a lot) you can try forming groups with randoms... this will nearly always end in your death, but its good experience for a new player, and maybe 1/10 will be a genuine friendly. Needless to say only do this on a new spawn when you have very little to lose. 5) if you do try 4 expect to get tricked/back-stabbed more often than not. Learn to spot the signs! 6) If you really want good reliable teamplay, either bring a friend(s) or join a clan.

I think there is a time limit, so if they've shot you within x time you can kill them without it counting as murder, even if they are not a bandit. Of course the downside of that is you need to get shot. I imagine there is a similar time limit for them dying after you've shot them, the exact mechanics I don't know though. Other than that though, killing a survivor makes you a bandit.

Yes but its essential that you shout you location in direct chat.. otherwise people might miss you.

Exactly like this, you advertise that you want to join a clan. Or you start a clan and advertise for recruits.

I don't really see the problem, I've been playing for about 3 weeks and to date I haven't been killed by a sniper.

What is a game? its a sum of gameplay mechanics. So an anti-game is basically a simulator of some sort, that doesn't employ "gameplay mechanics" but rather just modelling something real... whether its fun or not.

Well you have to head shot basically, the reload cycle after each shot is such that if you don't kill them on the first shot you're dead. So get lots of practice hitting small targets at various ranges from 5-20m... then go stalk some unsuspecting victims.. and good luck!

no point getting less than a 500w PSU if you plan on having any sort of gaming gfx card in there, maybe more if you're going for one of the power hungry nvidia cards.

one time I approached a deerstand, turns out there was someone in it, also turns out there was a bandit approaching from the other side... 3 way fire fight. Guy in the deer stand came out and went under it, got shot from both sides. The other guy was giving off a massive heartbeat, I made my screen shake from like 50m I'm sure... anyways long story short: he shot me.

It would be nice to think this might happen (silent release), but Rocket gets so much flack already I doubt he's going to want to court more by deliberately pissing off thousands of people.... even if they deserve it.

Uh really..... Last I heard Rocket said it was still a gamble. Can you say what build version the fix was in? @OP the problem exists (existed?) with both, basically the game had to spawn you a new avatar to implement the skin change, and it would spawn you in the sea for a split second then teleport you back to where you were... only sometimes it got messed up and you ended up in the sea for real.

don't touch hacked gear. people get banned for that.
