Update (16/1): Player Proximity DeSync Issue (Solutions/Workarounds!)
SprStnd replied to scottishrebel's topic in Troubleshooting
To repeat and describe instead of calling it by a maybe wrong name: -Happening most offten when meeting other players but also while being completly alone (expected to be alone). -Can't interact with any kind of items at all. -Can't use any animations (gestures, stepping over a fence). -Don't see other people move or interact, they stand still. -Other people can see everything i do without delay. -Offten this circumstances will get "locked" and never resolve themself, even connecting to a different server(on which it works for a moment) and coming back to the first does not "unlock" it. The server will just become not usable for me then. I would have a question tho: I am aware of the fact that the ammount of players who experience this is very low and as it isnt exactly reproducable by you, it looks like it is not inside the engine. BUT If it is caused by an external blocker like the router or isp/connection, then why is still DayZ the only game being effected by this external blocker? And no single other of my 20+ online games? With other words, and like i assumed before, if it is something on the users end causing this, then this unknown cause is only able to effect Dayz because Dayz is vulnerable/effectable by it, while no other game of mine is. This is just what appears to be a logic conclusion for me as none-programmer, and so might be very wrong... im just wondering why only DayZ is effected in case it is external and would like to know more... -
Server hopper protection is a big failure (for now)
SprStnd replied to [frl]myke's topic in Troubleshooting
Game needs a hopper protection but this one is unstandable, i can only play on a hand full of servers because of the known desynch problem, the server hopper delay made me stop trying to even look for a server on which i could play/test. It was annoying enough in front "only" having the desynch issue making it unplayable, now even the desynch problem became untestable... one step in the wrong direction in my case. -
The mouse acceleration in this game is horrible...
SprStnd replied to nexdemise's topic in Troubleshooting
Not sure if trolling or just very naive... Did you even ever played any shooter? It is crucial to be able to turn that fast for the case in which you have to... this alone should be enough to explain it but well, with other words, if im made unable to turn as fast as i want to choose within the mouse sensitivity, then i can also just pick up a gamepad or chop one of my hands off. Turning fast is not to shoot back at someone who did already hit you once, it is to be able to change the direction you cover asap after hearing a noice or teammate in teamspeak spotting an enemie... furthermore it is not your business to judge what is needed for other peoples playstyle. thank you. -
Update (16/1): Player Proximity DeSync Issue (Solutions/Workarounds!)
SprStnd replied to scottishrebel's topic in Troubleshooting
Would you be kind enough to do so please? As the purpose of this thread is to find ways to solve our issues, please go ahead. ;) -
Try to set the preferredobectviewdistance to around the same value as your viewdistance, 10-50 meter less maybe but not more. Im again not sure, but i think the distances which trigger the different levels of detail models are scaled by the preferredobjectviewdistance. With other words, scenecomplexity should raise the maximum distance on which the highest detailed model is displayed, but only within the range that is set in prefferedobjectdistance. Those are quite some assumptions/conclusions but i can't be bothered to start the game at the moment, ran out of patience sorry. ^^ Edit: It won't be the refresh rate of/or the monitor that causes a partially occuring rendering issue only in one game and on a isolated type of gamecontent/object. Did you change mipmap/texture related settings within your nvidia control panel for test purposes yet?
-
I never experienced this on a Nvidia card, not even on my old 9800gtx+, but on ati cards, there it was caused by a too low mipmap detail setting within the catalyst software. Maybe it is something similair, texture filtering settings or the like inside your nvidia 3d game related settings/profiles. But i dont realy know, just an idea i wanted to share in case it can help. On some parts of the picture it looks like the sceneComplexity= setting, found in Documents\DayZ\*WindowsUserName*.DayZProfile, is too low to display the high detail LOD model of the Building and rather shows a lower LOD (Level of Detail) model because of the distance, not sure if thats one of your concerns too. The effects of different SceneComplexity values might change related to changes within the viewDistance= and preferredObjectViewDistance= settings.
-
what the... this thread was about the view distance of LOOT ITEMS, not static map objects! Or am i missing something? Because on my game preferredObjectViewDistance= has no influence on the range of Loot Items being displayed. If you take a look at the Video OP posted, you would see that his static objects are displayed way farther than the loot items in question, so its not really the same setting is it? So to repeat the initial question and come back to topic: How do you adjust the range of loot items being rendered? PreferredObjectViewDistance= has no influence on that, at least not on my game.
-
Just to clear that out, object render distance in the config, is the distance upon which you are able to see static map objects, npc`s and player models, rather than spawned loot items. Would be interested in a way to raise the visibility of loot items myself!

Well, you have to consider my poor hardware, in front of the first perofrmance patch it was straight out unplayable on my specs, after first patch barely playable, after second patch i get up to 40+ frames. That is, compared to the initial performance on my specs, like a completly different game. So yeah, for me it is the biggest improvement on a system on which improvements realy count, i have ever seen. :) please excuse the horrible grammar.
-
I never saw a performance boost like planetside2 pushed out with the last 2 performance patches in 15 years of gaming, so comparing it might cause oversized expectations.XD But yes, wait for it! but its indeed pretty low on your specs, i get 30-40 on lowest settings even on a 9800 gtx+ 512mb ram, quadcore 2,5; 4gb ram...

windows Documents\DayZ ->DayZ.cfg line 24: vsync=0; and if you are inside there also change: GPU_MaxFramesAhead=GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=both to value "1", will minimize fps freezes/lags. :)

All of a sudden I cannot play with my friends, please help.
SprStnd replied to INeedHelpPlease's topic in Troubleshooting
i did link him a thread... so mean of me^^ dont insult me buhuhu XD i said it that way because some people said their search function did not work and it's just that we get so much repeating topics that it becomes time wasting to repeat and read everything on and on in 50 different threads. sadly it makes no difference for me to stop using teamspeak. :( -
Update (16/1): Player Proximity DeSync Issue (Solutions/Workarounds!)
SprStnd replied to scottishrebel's topic in Troubleshooting
Multiple ones, from the same location but different providers and different locations plus different providers. And if my internet connection is running everything else, including games, fine and does not show any ping fluctuations i hardly doubt it is only my connection which causes this, specialy as the problem gets stronger the closer you come to another player. How would my internet know that.^^ It might be caused by the connection, but if thats the case, then only because something of the game does allow such minor fluctuations to actually effect it, while others dont... i would assume. But assuming is easy... :/ -
well i have that problem on no single server, every server saves and loads my character just fine. still im not assuming everyone is fine... for the repeative threads like this one maybe try to have look around yourself first.... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/167343-servers-with-connection-issues-to-central-hive/

New Patch - Crashing, Extreme Desync, Beret Errors
SprStnd replied to Andarne (DayZ)'s topic in Troubleshooting
I dont know about american helmets but german army helmets are in most cases only for shrapnel deflection/protection and not fully bulletproof, of course just as much as i know. I was in the material group back then. That does not mean that a shrapnel protection helmet cant deflect a bullet, it allways depends very much on the impact angle, distance to the shooting person and the caliber obviously. Still nice to know it is possible in the game, thanks. :) -
jump/climb over a fence while running, turn like a maniac, lay down and roll, jump again, and if possible all this at the same time, then repeat lol. you also can try to jump and instantly disconnect while he exectutes the animation, sometimes while reconnecting you will be unstuck.

Nope. Gear is very unimportant and easyly regained within a single hour. Desynch is a problem which makes you unable to test things so alone this is already more important than character resets. Testing is the point of playing an alpha, not being proud about collected gear. Nope again. What did cause that assumption?

Update (16/1): Player Proximity DeSync Issue (Solutions/Workarounds!)
SprStnd replied to scottishrebel's topic in Troubleshooting
Desynch on all servers again today, tested different hosters, cant even start to play as the initial desynch that occurs after connecting will never drop. -
That is a warning box, no update box, learn the difference between updates and warnings please before giving us that binded standart phrase. He spoke about some valuable information about actuall causes of problems, as posted in the forums, instead of the standart "dis is alpha herpn derpn" repeative mantra you guys seem to take as general excuse, reason and help for everything. He is requesting this to minimize the repeative topics in this forum section as i think. The alpha warning does not help with this. And all together now, kneel in front of your god and praise him *starts to mumble* "this is alpha, this is alpha, this is alpha..." *whips back and forth in an apathetic way* :P

I hope i did not just missed to read it but i found 2 additional launch options which have helped me. -winXP - Starts the game in windows xp compatibility mode, gave me around 5-10 more fps. Note: makes you unable to minimize the game, as it will crash upon reactivation, use steambrowser for map.^^ -high - Starts the game with a high process priority, made the fps count become a little more stable while turning or running... i think to imagine...
-
could some moderator start cleaning up this mess of repeative threads please... it becomes very tedious to dig throu the same stuff over and over again as this topic isn't the only one getting repeative.

New Patch - Crashing, Extreme Desync, Beret Errors
SprStnd replied to Andarne (DayZ)'s topic in Troubleshooting
Every single post? as in 2 of 24? I did not say desynch is related to the location of the server. I only said that i and many others have desynch on all servers no matter from which location they are at... which is information and so worth to be mentioned. But i am able to accept being corrected and admit that your post might have been slighty helpfull... at its smallest possible ammount. Why did you not add further questions or suggestions than just a very single one? The only effect this has is a slower progress in analyzing the problem or helping persons with problems. Only because you came across many people that ask before checking the available sources of failures themselfs, doesnt mean you have to threat every new thread like there would only be naive persons around. Below the cautious approach upon those, you could add further and realy helpfull parts of your great better knowledge sir. And you are right, i was pretty rude which was not needed, but im wondering more and more every day why the only ones which try to help here seem to be players instead of maybe a developer from time to time. That might have caused some inconvenience which i projected into my posts. Please excuse me, i was just wondering. Looking forward to your next step of input as real help is needed and appreciated! -

ohw please use your brain and learn to read. We are all aware of this as we did check it before we came here to report stuff like this!!!
