Im amazed how useless most of your posts are...specialy while considering your post count, but this one here is especialy genius. No, i guess in front of verifying his game files he only tried a single server... seriously?!? Maybe you are unaware of this, but for some/many players desynch is a problem that is occuring on nearly all servers no matter which locations those servers are at. Just to add some information too and not only wonder: I have same problems after the patch ...on ... all... servers. The problems he describes even come up while using exactly the same graphic settings as used in front of the patch. I guess he didnt check his graphic settings either.... common sense anyone? -
also the vars file is generated automaticly... not sure exactly by what rules but you only have to change the other of the two files which does not have "vars" in its name normaly. & thx for beans. :D

parts of the problem he describes is new, but based on the new location of the profile file i think but thats just a wild guess. You can change your name by clicking on it in the bottom right courner of the games main menu, set your settings back as you know them and exit the game to reload it and test if they did stay. The profile file is now located in the Documents\DayZ folder instead of the "DayZ other profile" folder... at least on me. Note that it will keep its name (windows profile name) even if you change your name ingame.

why can i climb ladders then without any problems...all the time? just as all the other players i did play with (6) and against (5 hostile players spectated climbing ladders)...

On me it mostly was an ammo box or a protective case, just in case you get the problem again and dont want to drop the whole backpack again. :)

I found that it is better even to not move at all if you find yourself on the coast after connecting, just disconnect immediatly and connect to a different server. Had this happening to a friend and me in the same moment, he did move before he reconnected, i did not, he was reset even on the next server, i wasn't. Also never ever ever join a completely empty server, i got them resetting me quite some times now and i mean real reset. The reason they are empty might just be them resetting you upon joining, which wouldn't realy motivate anyone to stay on them. Also never get attached to your gear, you can loose it anytime in this stage of the alpha, for no logic or foreseeable reasons, actually i lost track of how offten i allready lost all my stuff now by everything else but dying. But its not that big of a deal, you can get to the north west airport in 30-40 minutes, depending where you spawn. Just raise your fists and run like forrest gump. ^^

Sure thing, will do so, but im far off any populated areas and my team is still offline, so it might take some time to get comprehensive test circumstances. Will edit/update this post as soon as i experience gameplay affecting desynch, or finnished playing without getting desynch. Unless you wish for faster/immediate updates in case i get no desynch. Update 1, 23:50 German Time: Played for around 2,5 hours now, two of them with two friends, all of us fully geared using 2 weapons, ammo boxes, medikits. No gameplay affecting desynch so far, sometimes a desynch sign and a value of around 15-20k but it seems it is only occuring for parts of a second, just enough to cause the sign being displayed for a single update cicle. No desynch after connecting either on mid to high populated servers. Going to play some more and add more informations. Update 2, 00:30: Just after posting the first update the desynch was back... didnt give up yet. Update 3, 05:00.... ^^ After testing some different high populated servers i managed to find one which did work more or less, had small spikes of desynch sometimes while being in the hospital in elektro with 4 friends being fully equipped. Server had around 30 players, sometimes more. Ping of 60 as long there was no desynch. Connection wasn't realy satisfying though, as it did give me the desynch sign very offten and made me check my connection by right-clicking items in my inventory to see the delay. The delay fluctuated between none and up to 2,2 seconds....yes i did use a stopwatch. :P But i was even able to kill two enemies which tried to kill us. -
Common sense would make anyone using it realize that instantly, but well... If this is adressed by enforcing a certain type of foilage display level which is any higher than the minimum, then it will become impossible for me to play the game anymore, as grass is a huge performance eating monster in this game. Beside that is my personal opinion asking why would you shoot your own knee? Its allready very hard to spot a player which is laying 40 meters away from you in a good position in relation to grasses. Hell, he can stand 10 meters beside you in a bush and will be nearly invisible as long he does not move at all, its actually even enough to crouch down on the side of the road and dont move, players will run past you on the road without noticing you as long you wear camouflaged gear... i tried that offten enough. All you get from having grass foliage to the horizon is death from unknown positions. But of course this is just my personal opinion.

Yes, every single day on every single server that was using Battleye, unrelated to its population, sometimes more sometimes less of course, but even the smallest spectated ammount still had a game breaking size of desynch to me. High populated servers where worse than low populated. The only exception from this was the 18. january, like i described in my post from that day. And as i said non-professional point of view, i have no valid argues or knowledge to claim it would be battleyes bandwidth usage, nor the intention to do so, i only tried to state my naive impressions.^^ -
Same here! Graphic settings at its lowest possible end. Still any other objects displayed in the same or higher distance as the hollow players are displayed perfectly fine. This issue is causing deaths. ^^

In First, Thank You for the Information! Not the Person/Group i would have expected or awaited it from but still! Thanks. Yesterday i was indeed able to play without any desynch at all, and i mean no single second of desynch! Not even directly after connecting in the vicinity of 4 friends, which was completly impossible whenever i tried this in front. No matter how populated the server was or how many people i did meet and/or killed. I did even test it to the max and run down to elektro at a full server, to have a try at Hospital campers occupants*, a group of 10 ppl came across me and my 4 friends....no desynch. I am not saying that this is a proof for Battleye being at fault but this is what i did observe. Still it makes the argument "battleye uses so little traffic it can't even cause any desnych" look a little laughable from my non-professional point of view. Once again, Please excuse any bad english grammar. :/ -
if you cant see other people move, cant open doors or use your inventory then you are desynched and dont get the updates to your actions from the server, neither the updates of the people who dont move, which is actually the reason they dont move... at least as far as i know. But if its working again, enjoy your game.:P

i guess he means Microsoft Security Essentials... could be wrong. arma engine at its finest...sadly, very common effect on certain graphic options, not sure how you would fix it but you are for sure not the only one having this...

Nope i dont found any statement to it yet on any of the available sources, which is a shame and makes me feel ignored. If i missed something plz hit me with a link. After i could play with a friend for like another 4 hours today, problems came back... without any obvious reason. We did not change server, did not take any loot at all beside replacing food we ate, we did not dublicate our characters nor used container inception of any kind. Even on other servers it staid the same, internet connection was fine at the same time, no packages lost and a ping of 55... Im near to give it the finger and come back in a half year as i got no single statement on this issue in about 2 weeks which is just insulting me as customer... but then, in a half year, you will probably have zombies acting like in the mod, which makes you kill them inside frikkin houses or make you run throu the whole town cournering houses to make everyone see your position... which feels very broken and is more of trolling yourself than a serious try to survive. I dont expect an instant fix or anything like that, but some little information or a sign that someone actually cares for the problem we have, i dont think its too much to ask for. And no, a single guy saying he did change something on the BE side of things and asking back if it did help anything without any additional informations is not the real deal! At the moment, and only since this morning, i am able to connect and play very good using stable battleye enabled servers. Instantly after connecting my ping is at 60, no desynch, low-mid bandwidth use, there was only a single desynch spike of 4k for a couple of seconds long after connecting, looks like an improvement till now. Edited: Did meet up with a friend on a BE enabled server (15-20 players) and could more or less play with him, sometimes bad desynch of 20k or 100k for some moments. No problems when i did stay 40 meters away from him, he has 1 ammobox, 1protective case and 2 medipacks in his backpack, i still dont use any container item but carry 2 rifles. When i was alone again i did meet 2 random guys on the airfield, on the first one i had the yellow chainlink showing up for one moment very short time before he reached my position, but had no input delay problems, the second guy caused no desynch at all to me. For everyone still having problems, i did read something about deleting your *Name*.vars.DayZProfile file from the "DayZ other Profiles" folder inside your Documents might fix desynch in some cases. did you try to run the game in windowsXP compatibility mode as admin and/or did you add launch options in steam, like -maxVram=X -maxCPU=X -high(windows process priority)? windowsXP mode gave me around 10 fps more, just can`t minimize the game anymore without crashing. i guess you tried everything else like maxframesahead=1 already. good luck!

Desynch problem, can`t play at all atm so yeah thats first.^^ 2.)Something against Combat logging, with respect to people having to change servers for connection reasons or similair not getting wiped by being wrongly accused of serverhopping for loot or ghosting. 3.)Fix for no-clip zombies. No change at all since last week saturday... unplayable since nearly 12 days now! Tested everything advised and could not fix the problem at all. I can connect to a server and in most cases the desynch will never vanish and just stay at max, as long i can see numbers and dont only see 0 0 0 all over the place. When i commit suicide to get a fresh character it will make me able to connect and play fine, until i have a full hunters-backpack, once i have enough items to fill a hunters-backpack im not able to connect correctly or play anymore (no boxes/medikits in use). Exception from this is when i meet other players, one player is enough to kill my connection completly in most cases. Desynch will explode and never go down again, even if the other player leaves me alone. Please Note, the problem was not fixed by any of the following actions: -changing: hardware, isp, antivirus/firewall software or servers (BE ON only, as there are no none-BE servers available for me in the last week). -running the game as administrator or in windowsXP and other compatibility modes. Also my ISP is just fine, 16k, no package lose and a ping of 50, handling everything fine but DayZ Sa. The only Servers on which i could play during all this mess where servers without battleye and experimental servers without battleye. The lack of informations on this problem is outrageous! Instead of reading about new features and items being added in the next patch, i would rather get some information about what is causing this desynch problem, and what will be done or might be happening to fix this. Please excuse my bad english and Thank You for this Thread, sadly i can not realy contribute any new knowledge. ;) -

Nice stuff to read about! Sadly thats it for me, reading about it... Because i still cant play on any server without getting desynch of 100k as soon as i meet another player. Any informations on that maybe? Please Note: The problem was tested on different hardware, isp, servers, while disabling anti virus and firewall programs or running it as admin and in compatibility modes. Nothing did help.
