Hm, some of you guys sounds like this mod. has been out for a decade. Arma2 was out 2009, the dayz mod. probably about 2010? :) I played beta in Shadowbane in 2002, or was a murderer in Ultima Online in 1998.. Perhaps, some hardcore dudes have actually some experience about PvP and survival type of games, or even better how to balance it properly. In my opinion right now it's too obvious where new players or R.I.P players spawns - so it should be more random in future updates. And I say this to protect unarmed characters before they vanish into the woods to hunt new items and food. 'berries?' )) And don't trust anyone in game like this - unless you know what you're doing or have decent backup plans, and I also recommend to watch Frankie youtube videos; he is very experienced about survival. -by Frankieonpc - -Ori -
I always close the door behind me when I walk into a popular structure/building - so there are no evidence that I'm inside military installations, because I can see when someone open the door due to lights/shadow effects. -Ori

Being a new spawn player on a populated server is pointless right now.

It seems that most people spawn at the exact same location near the beach - very close to Kamyshovo. -
When I hear a gun reload nearby, because someone logs in or teleport near me - I usually log out fast. If you use headset @OP, you will hear usually when someone is near you unless he roll on the ground, but that's not a teleporter, or hacker, nor a cheater - that means you have been spottted and a person located your position on the map and a fair game. -Ori.

Perhaps I was on regular, but I usually play on hardcore servers, so I mixed it up. 'sigh, I lost 20 min. ))

It doesn't work, it won't get your old character back. In fact it won't save at all for me. I was almost at Elektro city and loged out to check if the character saved the location, but I started at a new random location. -

Aye, I wear a helmet & vest, so it might be harder.. However, it's not about to KOS - if you see a person spawn near top of the tower at Airfield or sniping nearby the mountainside - the person is there to camp someone else who are unlucky to get spotted by him/her. So it's either you or someone else, but survivial is not to play this game like BF4 or CoD in my opinion. It's a lot more fun when you are trying to be hidden and observe the environment what's going on the map. Maybe you hear distant gun fired when you're silent - lets investigate kind of approach without getting involved in fire fights is fun and u save amo! hehe. This kitten only use amo to defend myself. Amo ain't the problem here, but the long range 'sniper' scopes and full health system (maybe total health is too little?) - the pros.can murder someone at 800 meter range! Just see Frankie youtube videos! 'grin )) -Ori -

Actually, I am against server bouncing to find equipment - when you reach a military barrack: You can just bounce enough servers to get a complete military set. And that's not alpha issue at all, but a core game design at the moment. -Ori -

This kitten could kill an army with m4 bullets, m8. I've counted over 100 m4 bullets., 'grin' edited; yeah, some handgun amo. is very rare and too hard to find at the moment. I've only found two mags. to my FNX45 pistol and I agree too rare in comparison to larger rifles like M4.. And I've visited military barracks and air towers at Airfield, + green mountain military barracks on different servers.. -Ori -

Most items disappear on the ground at the moment so I wouldn't recommend it. -
I cannot see anything at night just stars so I will easy get lost without a map & compass. I won't bother to adjust video setting, because it feels like cheating. )) -Ori

About loot: Well, some random elements is great and more realistic, and more random spawns inside/outside buildings. A modern crossbow/Bow would be fun with a 'stealthy' approach/twist to the game. Cooking/Crafting/Hunting/Wildlife: - Mushrooms - Deers - Bears - Grouse - Moose - Wolf - Reindeer - Badger - Eagle - Hawk Brief; in general more wild life is essential and fun, and more interesting related to the survival aspect of the game. The map is huge, so it feels empty, that's why wildlife is important to hunt additional food etc. Crafting Bolts & arrows. Zombies: They've mention to increase the amount of zombies, but I don't see the point to be honest. It only create more server lag, and I feel more wildlife instead is essential. Other players will always be the main threat. -Ori

Yes, I undertstand your view, but I would also enjoy to increase amount of players on a server. In BF4 you've 64 player maps and they're tiny in comparison. My point is I wish a server had more players - so it would feel massive when wildlife is implemented, and also concerning the balance of food and baking bread over a fire for instance.

Food in DayZ is not realistic - u can go many days irl. without any issues, but u will be hungry, but not lethal like in dayZ.
