It won't be a deathmatch (DM mode) on this map scale, so you don't need to worry, m8. Besides, when we can build bases in the end game - people will be locatedall over the map.

I only subscribe to FrankieonPc on my list: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxbivvwPkudpfWrLQHGHQyw He have over 1.3 mil sub. - so I guess he is popular.
-
Yes, I am aware of that, and I'm pleased if they're aiming to increase the total amount of players. There're some popular youtubers who have similar feelings about it. ))

I feel the PvP trolls are strong in this community. ;D

so i had a blast so far but this is killing my fun
Nebulae3 replied to brumey's topic in General Discussion
It all depends what kind of risk you take in-game.If you're hiding in the woods with lots of food and water and only visit villages when you need food - you can probably survive for weeks with only 40 players on this map.If you want action and try to find other players at airfields - it might be harder to stay alive that long, but we've all different play styles and how we enjoy playing. However, I must admit the importance to increase the amount of total players to at least 100 on this map. -

Yes, I think it depends what you're doing when you're in good health. If you're scouting and don't move around a lot - it might last several hours before u need to eat & drink again. -

Really.. it sounds like hacking/teleporting.. -
Do we have any lore based on time in DayZ? It could be a futuristic setting like in year 2370.. The mystic plague hit the earth.. :D So in future patches we might discover new tech.

What Alpha Is Supposed To Be (A Discussion On Dev Direction And If The Game Will Ever Be Completed)
Nebulae3 replied to jovlon's topic in General Discussion
I'm worried about Indie companies in general.. Are you people aware it takes like (4-5) years to develop a finished game like Destiny, or Skyrim? And they have (400-500) employees? So I don't expect much concerning development, fixes in future patches. However, I really like the game concept and it's exciting, well, somehow different to play it compare to the same old pattern (wow style) set in stone type of mmo's. And I welcome that alteration, so it will be interesting to follow the development. Edit; I would like to mention something; it might seem harsh words, but reasonable and logic thoughts consider time scale on things, but even games like Skyrim was far from perfect. I remember the launch and it had its own issues and some would probably utter it was almost unplayable without mods. -Ori -
I've a hello kitty t-shirt so I am innocent.. ;D

Chris Roberts, no, he too busy with DFM. :D Besides, he has never worked on an AA title in sci-fi genre. But some companies like Dice release unfinished pc games - I just hope it doesn't become a habit.. Maybe if u email steam or EA u will get a refund. :) -

Maybe we need a similar forum policy like Star citizen to show below our forum nick who is actually a backer of DayZ early alpha. There are many internetz trolls out there.. -
What Alpha Is Supposed To Be (A Discussion On Dev Direction And If The Game Will Ever Be Completed)
Nebulae3 replied to jovlon's topic in General Discussion
This sentence doesn't make any sense.. DayZ have nothing to do with Bethesda company. Todd Howard didn't develop ESO - his team just assisted the lore part. TES (the elder scrolls) is a single player game like Skyrim. -

I hope you're not from ESO - that ship is sinking and fast! All abandon ship! ;D Unless they hire Todd Howard, but he is busy with 'new' Fallout. -Ori -
Hey, hey.. @op said he enjoyed alpha.. ..so don't be so cold.. ;D -Ori

.. edit; lolwat nick; you don't need to start 4 threads on general discussion about character loss, in fact u are trolling. 'sigh, such a waste of time..

Servers with connection issues to central hive
Nebulae3 replied to rocket's topic in News & Announcements
Can we get a hardware requirement for a server? So much garbage servers. -
Hm, really, I've not experienced it yet.. They've wiped characters, but that is after new patches. It's alpha so if it's a bug, well, report it. (Bug report section)
-
Did u read anything I wrote above? I think u clicked on a hardcore server; you don't lose your equipment, but you will start a new character on a different game mode. Edit; see it as two character slots. 1. Hardcore server mode. 2. Regular server mode.
-
Try to log on a similar server like Regular Fragnet, MPGS.CO, or Gameservers.com - maybe your character with equipment will come back. (click on host.) And remember if you (click on 'mode') you can decide to play on a hardcore server, which is only 1st person view, or regular server, which also support 3rd person view. The thing is if you log on a hardcore mode server even with same character name: You start without equipment. It seems that hardcore and regular servers are unique, which means you can't use your regular character with equipment on a hardcore server or vice versa. Always check game mode in that server list. Although, there're many garbage hosts out there at the moment; I hope servers need hardware requirement in near future. -Ori
-
No, it's not internet issues; it's about bandwidth and quality hardware related to host a server. And, of course, it's alpha, so they can optimize the software.
-
People are not 'dumb', but a lot of people don't know what an alpha or beta is all about in details. Brief; an alpha is a very early stage of the game development. When people paid for BF4, they expect a game without glitches, bugs, and errors with the amount of money it cost to be a premium member for instance. -Ori
-
I'm also curious why people buy alpha versions - a new twist maybe..Perhaps, we can add some cool features in a game we enjoy, yeah, perhaps..Maybe because of zombies, I don't know.. In a sci-fi, we've aliens; what look most dangerous? Perhaps, people are tired of easy mode console games for kids?Or maybe some are bored of WoW style mmo aspect - that most features are already set in stone, and with little room for player creativity..It must be something unique, because a lot of people are buying an alpha version of DayZ. -Ori
