    I believe u have similar playerbase on private compare to public hives. The main difference - its easy to gear up on almost empty public servers - so most players have end game gear even in cities on public servers. Its easy to hide a tent on an empty server with loot and fast to gear up compare to private hives. The community and the player base is the same, but a private hive create a different play style pattern in comparison.

    ok thanks, I didn`t notice that I download anything, but I saw a new browser today. I`ve been active in BF1 recently. :) Going back to 0.60 until they fix the server crashes and some other major issues.

    The sporter sound is too loud @Hicks_206 (DayZ) - 0.22 is not that loud. :)

    And a few hours later..

    It took days to gather all these items on public while I wait on the new experimental patch.. No bag, because of ghillie bushrag + gun wrap - two scorpion magz, silent glock with mags - B95 + scope, almos ready for all kinds of sitations to snipe, or assault! cu soon on 0.61 experimental branch. :)

    Yes, there are some players who watch certain key locations of the map for hours and wait for other players to wander nearby without worring about temprature in 0.60 stable patch. But with the new patch 0.61 it will be harder to use similar strategies which is great, and guys who play like that need to create fireplace nearby to keep warm if it`s raining for instant, and gather other items like heatpacks to stay warm. My point is it will be harder to sit still in a sniper location for a long period of time unless you are well geared for the task. It`s good when players need to focus on survival items in my opinion.

    I think it`s great changes to this new 0.61 patch - it will be more difficult to camp and snipe without freezing and shaking without heatpacks or warm clothing. And it will be a tough environment for sure when it start to rain - I wish hard environments is on the plan in future dayz vanilla updates too including snow or blizzards. I mention this, because with weapon sway based on breathing that so many unexperienced dayz players hate with this game - I`m talking about popular twitch streamers like @Lirik - that younger generation of players are used to H1z1 difficulties which doesn`t reflect breathing and weapon sway when you`re tired at all. And Dayz need to avoid that and completely remove weapon sway from the game, because it will be too easy to hit someone even with bullet physics without weapon sway. And with hard weather environments - it will be much harder to use camp strategies and those who enjoy that type of gaming need to really prepare for a camp with heatpacks for instant and wool clothing to keep warm and pray it doesn`t rain. Ideally 4 seasons with winter & Summer tempratures. The only annoying game mechanic in my view is related to weapon ammunition and damage status. I think it`s great that weapons need to use cleaning kits once in a while so the weapon doesn`t decay, but it shouldn`t be an issue to fire with it unless the weapon is in bad damage state. I think the development team should remove damage status on ammo in general so weapons doesn`t have issues to fire properly, because it`s not a system in place to mend ammunition, @Hicks_206 (DayZ) And to remove damage status on ammunition in general is a step in the right direction in my opinion.

    @Hicks I hope you guys added some military weapons at North East Airfield - so not all high end items are located west side of the map especially if you have plan to remove weapons from crash sites. There are too many who don`t bother to start north of the map which result that the part of the map is empty or with little traffic of players. *What is the eta now on 0.61 on exp branch? :)

    It looks great - that`s the main reason why I bought dayz - BASE BUILDING in a sandbox game - zombie survival, and Frankieonpc1080 enjoy it too so my taste is up to a good standard. ;) You need to board the zombies out - it should be a horde of them roaming the streets, and less about player vs player even though players are a lot more smarter than zombie AI, but most understand my reasoning. Zombies need to be a good threat - they should react instantly to sounds or weapon sounds, and dev. team doing a good job of that. ))

    The plane looks really difficult to fly properly due to wheels - I`m more fan of old WW II war planes like Supermarine Spitfire. :) About Dayz I hope the dev. team add more military loot at NE Airfield so people don`t sucide when they start north of the map. I`m not fan of the end game items located mostly at the west side of the map - Berezino & Krasnostav need some love to get the map more interesting. Because when chopters or airplane will be used in Dayz - it`s a lot faster to travel to object A-B C-E - I don`t enjoy when popular dayz streamers just sucide north or far east of the map - it just follow a bad pattern and player base behaviours and they will use similar approach which result that the map far east and north is completely empty of players, and I dont like that.

    It sounds like too many loot piles are gathered together in one location - it should be more spread out and easier to discover - I think there are some issues with loot distribution on 0.60 at the moment.

    I notice loot plosion again - too many pistols in one location. At least some gear spawn in police stations again. Yes, I`ve seen lots of 308 rounds - I carry 120 + a scorpion mag - still looking for a scorpion weapon though so rare to find it.

    yeah, I`m really excited for the new build for sure - it will looks, hear and feel difference and that`s promising for the Dayz development. Hopefully the dev. team figure out the the major blocks in near future and push it out on the experimental branch.

    It`s the same with wincehster ammo - not seen any for weeks - I think duping issues somewhat interact with the overall loot tables.

    Excellent article by Eurogamer - Must read

    I think many miss base building like Frankieonpc1080 who want to build a base and roleplay and create a tube video about it. I dont understand how his first dayz video hit 5 mil views - it`s thoroughly bad and boring game play. Base building will get the population more spread out over the map for sure with chopters - and players wont travel to the usual destination A,B, and D. NW Airfield, Stairy, Cherno for coast pvp. I also hope the dev. team look into the coast fog - I think it`s too dense at the moment, because u can`t really snipe from Skyrim towards Cherno farms, or Elektro side. My point is earlier when first dayz came out - you need to be worried about certain location on the map due to sniper hill near Bellota, and such places need to exist to create an exciting atmosphere and be aware of such locations. Now you can just take the road below it and don`t worry about a sniper top of the mountain at all, which is the opposite effect you want for your dayz game just to protect newspawns on the coast. Hicks pls. consider that create the fog less dense so it doesn`t ruin strategic locations on the map.
  20. Yeah, I would not worry about it too much - if u ran out of luck you can die by a pistol that hit you in the arm 9 mm, or magnum.
  21. Another thing is sounds are more intense in 1st person compare to 3rd person - it might scare people off to play 1st person. People are used to 3rd person from other games, but I wish Dayz team lower the sounds of breathing & walking - we don`t breath that loud when we exercise.

    I hope they look into weapon sway next patch when u stand still for minutes - it`s hard to hit anything beyond 500 meters, and hold breath doesn`t do much at the moment - it slows it down, but it`s much easier to hold your weapon still when I am out hunting deers in real life. :)
