No and no. But that also doesn't mean I am going to KoS either.

Rather ironically I suffered a leg break just minutes after posting my comment, and I didn't have either a stick and/or morphine. Not only that there is a bug where you cannot crawl out of some of the buildings, thus trapping me. Big thanks to TMW and Marijke and FabulousGeorge (Matt) for their euthanasia skills. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/160262-need-medical-assistance-in-dayz-sa-find-your-medic-here/

Need Medical Assistance in DayZ SA ? Find Your medic here!
rickyriot replied to TMWMarijke's topic in General Discussion
So is anyone monitoring this thread? Got caught in a bug and could do with some help. Problem resolved (ha! finally). -
It's sweet of him to offer up the idea of an RC, it's positively sisyphian in it's humour. ;)

Becoming? It's always been here and in fact it's considerably better now that it was before. That said, did you ever play the mod? I think people forget just how unforgiving and awkward the storage was in that. Put a weapons too big to fit into a backpack and *poof* it's magically gone! Also, look at your (overly high gamma) screenie. 2 ammo boxes, 2 protector cases and 4 bags of rice and you still have lots of slots left? Jeezo that's a king's ransom right there!

Injuries in general need reworking and with the new physics engine (and presumably a skeleton to support that) it opens up the ability for context based damage. Shoot someone in the leg and they should have problems walking, shoot someone in the arm and they cannot keep a steady aim, etc. Obviously there is always going to be a gap between real life and realism in a computer game, after all none of us wants 4-6 months of in game time in order to properly heal a broken leg, however I agree with some of the posters above when they say the injury should be more granular than it is now. Just getting a split and/or morphine shouldn't be the difference between crawling and sprinting. There needs to be more stages between A and B and for those stages to affect your character. This is where hardcore mode might offer something, with those servers having more several (and by implication realistic) affects of damage and it's contextual effects on the players mobility/functionality. In terms of the specific question the OP posed, I agree in the sense that you should be able to craft a split from trees/bushes/saplings although I do think that will happen anyway when the firewood and crafting is introduced. As for more spawning of sticks? I seem to find tons of them on the server these days although that might be down to loot weighting in relation to the new fracturing system implemented.

Still have NEVER seen a FNX 45 Magazine at the NEA
rickyriot replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
I remember having about 3 magazines several weeks ago, ever since that character bit the dust the only time I've had a magazine is when I've killed someone and it's been in their loot. -
All I can say is that I feel like a right fucking idiot, and I am not sure how I let this piece of info slide past me, but I didn't know you could put sawoff shotguns into your back pack. I've dropped two of them in the last couple of days in favour of a different weapon while (presumably) having enough space in my backpack to keep it. Doh!

How do you guys feel aboutr this as a sniping spot (Elektro)?
rickyriot replied to thequantum's topic in General Discussion
All camping spots are one shot only places. It's not my preferred game style as I don't have a vagina, but if you are going to camp and snipe you need to find a different spot after each shot. -
9. Respawn on the same server and start again, with no level of ire as it's just a game.

I presume you were not at full health. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I have never experienced or suffered myself the 'one punch knock out', unless it's something that has been added to the new experimental patch. Edit: Oh, and what Jack said, helmet. I tend to only wear helmets in the game anyway.

Yeah, and although not limited to DayZ, online gamers can be creepy as fuck. Don't get me wrong if you want to flaunt it, flaunt it. The lassies who do streams and show cleavage in order to improve subscriptions and donations and if they are comfortable with that then I see no problem with them exploiting those dumb (or desperate) enough to fall for it. Personally if I was to watch a stream, and I don't, it would be because I liked the person rather than their genitalia. After all naked human bits are just a click away if that's what I wanted. As for the interaction, and getting a little back on track, I'd certainly like to see some form of simplistic sign language incorporated. As it is you have simple gestures such as one or two handed salutes, pointing, thumbs up, etc. and although I realise each different one requires a shit lot of animations to be created for it, I think it'd be nice to expand it out to allow players to communicate at a basic level. The benefit being that it would be global rather than regional as voiced language is (admittedly most people speak some English even if it's not their native tongue). The question I suppose should be effort/reward though. No game developer is going to spend weeks of man(woman)/hour time developing a dedicated sign language when only a minority of the player base is actually going to use it. In the end, I do understand your frustration, and in a minor way I also have that frustration at not getting the most out of a medium, but it's just the way things are unfortunately. Well until they stick electrodes in your head and automatically translate your thoughts into speech patterns which, aside being frightening, would almost definitely get most people arrested for obscenity.

As in the poker term.. At least I didn't need to drink anything.

Thinking about it you'd be right. A straight would presumably be all the indicators. A flush would probably be all the indicators of the same colour (which you can't do as being wet will always be blue and bleeding will always be red). I just posted the pic as a laugh as I spotted how fucked I was. I managed to bring the poor guy around, so it wasn't terminal although it was touch and go at times and took me the best part of an hour to get him back to normal (he was wet though, couldn't get him dry).

I just came off a server round about 12:30 and it was 14:00 on the server.

I appreciate your frustration OP, but unfortunately there is not really any complete way to counter the situation. Until private hives come about and people trust you as a regular player you are always going to be considered a threat (as would any player) and the inability to vocalise is not going to help. A soundboard or a simple text to chat application that is fed into the microphone channel will provide some feedback, but it's just human nature to trust a human voice more than a generated one. As I say I appreciate your frustration, as I am unable physically to see stereoscopic 3D. Films and some games rely on this and I'm sure in the future more games will incorporate it, so I do understand not being able to properly interact with a medium properly. Not sure what the whole "girl" chat is about though, as it shouldn't really make any difference what the gender of the person controlling the character is, only their actions. I'm male but I certainly wouldn't "prove" my manliness so I don't see why anyone should prove their womanliness. They should be treated equally regardless.

I never intended to let the character get into such a state. I was on a night server, up near Berezino with standard gamma settings on a server that had already been looted so I was finding nothing even if I could see it! The sickness came from the blue berries which in desperation I ate. The guy was more or less in a hungry and thirsty state for what seemed like 30 minutes, getting progressively worse. I found a well which thankfully quenched my thirst was trying to find antibiotics in a completely looted hospital near the well. I thought to myself I'm sure it can't get worse only for it to start raining! I then got swiped by a zombie (that's a hoe you're seeing on my character - pretty damned effective by the way!). It was as I dealt with the zombie then went to my inventory to check for bandages (I had none!) that I spotted I was showing all the indicators.

Where are you based? I am in the UK and play the UK experimental servers and they are normally afternoon no matter when I play them.
-
Don't forget you can improvise with a burlap sack and rope (and sticks too). 40 mins is nothing in terms of not finding a backpack. If you've always found one in less then you've been lucky.

Poll: Are you happy with the latest patch
rickyriot replied to alleycat's topic in General Discussion
OP, I admire your poll creation skills. -
Congratulations gents, you both failed to understand the point I was making. ;)

I can actually smell your salty tears from here.

mugur, have a quick read of this thread... http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/174742-should-nvir-be-implemented/ ..it covers some arguments for and against NV (and IR).

Clearly the developers want to give out the message... DON'T PANIC
