The speed increase is fine, its way better, imo then how slow they used to be. You can still out run them....perhaps youre carrying 2 weapons? If so, its time to choose which one you actually need. -
The Amphibia only takes 3 shots to the body to kill a zombie, and in my experience its one of the best nearly-silent ways to take them out. Good luck finding mags for it though.

Food and drink system needs to change!

It does need to change....there needs to be LESS food. Whats the point in having hunger/thirst if you are never in danger of starving to death? I have yet to starve, but maybe thats because I use to play the mod and kind of knew from the beginning what to do/where to go. -

Double tap shift, if that doesnt work it might be a bug. To fix it pull out the weapon you had out before you couldnt jog and put it away. This should fix it. -
Yup, I found no less than 5 m4s(hundreds of rounds of ammo) while searching for, and finding, only 1 .22 pistol and 2 mags for it.

Haven't played for two months, how's the bandit situation?

They are most likely complaining about the zombie respawn being instant, sometimes right next to you, and already running towards you(especially when you fire a weapon). As well as zombies dealing more damage/causing bleeding more easily. -
I own an sks and an m44(which for the purposes of this conversation is the same as the mosin in game), and you cannot tell how many rounds are left in them without either firing them, or releasing the catch on the bottom of the mag(dumps all the rounds out the bottom). The problem with "pulling the mag" out of these guns is that the only way to do that is to disassemble them. Stripper clips make no sense in this game because you dont leave the stripper clip in the gun, it only acts as a way to reload the weapon faster.

The "session lost" message doesnt seem to appear for me if I join an empty or nearly empty server. My two friends and I joined a nearly empty server and have watched half the server get kicked every 15 mins or so, but we are unaffected. I think the new patch is limiting the bandwidth that the servers can use, rather then the amount used by the players.(no evidence, just a thought)

Im on the east coast(U.S) and I cant join any server without getting the dreaded "session lost" message.

I cant seem to stay in any servers since the update. I get in(sometimes) and then 1-3mins later I can no longer eat/open doors, other characters are stationary on screen, and then "session lost".

If its target practice you want do this. 1. Go to an empty server(or not, its just safer) 2. Find a town, preferably in the north, away from major loot spawns. 3. Find a small road sign. 4. Take shots at varying distances and stances so that you get a feel for how the weapons handle. This will also give you a sense of scale for when you have to make on the fly guesses at the distance to your target. imo this is the best way to learn how to shoot in dayz. Sure, you could use zombies...but there arent many of them. They are better for refining your on the fly guesswork, after you have a solid feel for the weapons and shooting mechanics.

I usually go north, but, I also head back to the coast to skirt the cities and look for rampaging bandits.

Just make ammo a fuckton more rare....after the army and civilians tried to fight off the zombies there would be hardly any left. It would be much more interesting if when you found 5 rounds for your gun you felt like a man in the desert stumbling upon an oasis. -
I play on hardcore servers because I know that anyone who sees me can be seen by me, just as in real life. I only play "regular" servers when I want to dick around and kill everything.

I personally wouldnt use the bike helmet, Ive seen too many bandits at the coast wearing them.
