Weapons need to spawn with atleast 1 magazine in them.
gorvi replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
Or chance. I'd like the odd chance of finding clips in the gun with an odder chance of ammo. All with slightly better chances in logical areas. Police cars, bars, hunting shacks, etc. With containers introduced soon, I hope we get weapon lockers in police stations, prisons, amory, etc, which could have a decent chance of spawning guns with clips. Blame my d20 upbringing. Don't take what people say so literally. Never implied crash sites (if returned) will guarantee spawning full clips. A random house could have a less chance to spawn a gun with full clip. The idea of certain areas having a better chance at finding a fully loaded weapon follows how the game plays now with high risk areas. TLDR: I would like clips to spawn in guns, but rarely. -

Depending on intended use. If its used for readily available defense, storing the weapon loaded is only logical. When being stored for long term is more what I'm relating too. That is where chance would come into play. Example would be, farms may have a loaded shotgun or blazer where a inner city house would have a higher chance to be unloaded. City housing could have a better chance at loaded pistols than hunting weapons, where farms would be the opposite. -

Most people irl that I have known safely store the clip away from the gun. I think it should all depend upon location. Weapon lockers may have guns with clips where a house may have an gun and mag separate. Not always the chance, but weapons with clips should be rarer then guns without. -
Unlimited. I hope this gets changed when horticulture is fleshed out.

I think weapons need a 25% chance to spawn mags. More mags for a location that makes sense. Police station, army base, etc. -

Can Nothing be done about MetaGaming in Dayz?
gorvi replied to yorkmorgan's topic in General Discussion
Actually the passive stats going to be added are a good way to combat it. crafting will be another. When it comes to players knowing where they are, that will have to be taken with a grain of salt, and just assume because the players character grew up in the area. I suggested some books being used to to help craft better quality items. Nothing too restricting or extensive. A hunting book would slowly teach the player how to build a slightly better bow where a fresh character would build a worse one. Would help the value of books since they are soon going to be burnable. I hope Loot 2.0 might switch around static spawning locations. -

It would, but that doesn't translate well into a fresh spawn who wouldn't know any better. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metagaming_%28role-playing_games%29 -

Looking back, Do you think that EA release was a good idea?
gorvi replied to c00lface's topic in General Discussion
Why the fuck should've they done that? Quit playing the game like its finished. For all I care, the color blue could be fucked up until release. For someone who likes to comment upon how they are managing the company, you are very narrow sighted. Ever participate in an alpha before? and yes. I mean alpha and not early access beta. The actual flow of gameplay should not be a main concern until beta is released. -

Yeah. Its a pain to have a broken limb and millions of trees around you. PVC bow will be a craftable item. With being able to burn books soon, I think they should hold more value to and allow players to learn stuff like this. Dealing with the meta of the game will need balance. A player should be able to logically craft an item even if there character might not have an idea. Nothing too expansive, But flipping through random books for hunting and survival gives the player boosted "recipes" resulting in a better crafted item. These could be logged into the player journal if implemented. Dead risings crafting system comes to mind, but not that much over the top. This can also be expanded upon. Being in close proximity with someone or looting finer items, you passively learn their survival skills or recipes. -

Proper zeroing is already planned by devs. Knobs will move, etc. You also need to stop assuming the devs toss stuff into the game as finished. Lots of balancing will come during beta. Including which parts attach where and do what. When it comes to how parts attach to a gun, I think this needs more attention and should be your focus. I liked the idea of adding your own weapon attachment points. Anything to give tools more use. Ultra reailism is always appreciated long as the items it introduces plays well with other aspects of the game. Most items should have duality.

Could we please have the burlap sac as a usable container? A 3 slot bag for berries or other small items.

Anyone worried there will be too many ammo types ?
gorvi replied to gibonez's topic in General Discussion
Smelting down bullets or scrap and finding/crafting bullet molds. Make casings somewhat less rare than live ammunition and allow players to retrieve any spent casings. Friend or foe. Black powder should be craftable by players, yet should take investment and preparation.(akin to making meth in Altis Life.) Something for the future. -

I'm hoping to be able to break down unneeded ammo and use a reloading bench to make the type I need -
Sometimes you cant find a rope, yet still have a bag you can't put anything in other then players heads >.>

I knew that. Had to hop on and try the burlap sack with duct tape. it was a no go :(

Seriously? Or was that a suggestion?

Do you kill people with the payday masks on sight?
gorvi replied to meat pie's topic in General Discussion
Not immediately. Sometimes I use them as a warning, or to ward off other players. Same with darkened visors on motorcycle helmets and gas masks.
