Just because you have an idea, doesn't make it a good idea. The ability to discus and accept others opinions would be a much more rewarding tool to help your idea grow rather than arguing. In my opinion, your questions and ideas make a lot of assumptions while following very literal interpretations of the new loot system, disregarding common sense along with other players expectations or input.

Nah. You act like it will be instant and easy loot. The amount of houses or loot and time to respawn has yet to be defined. The only casuals they are appealing to is by sacrificing time which could have been used developing the core of the game. Devs are slowly getting beat down by all the slander, instead working on gameplay when core mechanics still need work. Maybe cause they actually care and listen to the fans while wanting to keep us playing and enjoying their game.

What do you think full modding support will do to DayZ
gorvi replied to Jex's topic in General Discussion
Its like making a card game after someone already invented the deck. They are built upon systems which had +5 years of production. DayZ has made great progress. We only get to see the first couple cards. The tip of the iceberg if you will. The problem if anything, the Devs need to stop running 2 stable bullds. Even if something is extremely broken, toss it into experimental. This way players have the option of seeing progress even if its bugs are gamebreaking. -
Running on rough terrain, sprained or broken ankles, boots and making adequate light useful/essential...

Breaking point is horrible imo. Waste of bandwidth. I'd rather play a life mod or wasteland. -

C&C reborn and A path beyond. Without mods, new vegas would have been very different. For starters. No hardcore mode or weapon attachments. Need I say, no Frostfall for skyrim. and dicks. -
No loot respawn, just fixed spawns on server start.
-
Wrenches and pliers. I want to strip engines for parts and snip holes into wire fencing.

Race and gender is only one of many ways people identify. I think if there was 20 or so backgrounds to choose from, people could connect better by either relating or playing a roll. College student becomes bandit, or prisoner became hero.
-
The idea is, there is no 'perfect" background. I only said clothing. Shoes, shirt, pants. Possibly a basic jacket, hat, and/or glasses if that is something devs feel all players should spawn with. Right now, players have perfect character creation if they choose a dark skinned woman wearing earthtones for their starting clothing.

Being able to draw hoods over the players head. -
I was going to suggest something like this. Alternative start for Skyrim is a good example. Pick your background and get clothing related to it. A paramedic, a business woman, gas station attendant, etc.

DayZ: "These aren't the zeds you're looking for."
-
Some of you have no idea what you are talking about. A lot of you are confusing what a gaming engine can do, and what it is programed to do. When it comes to scripted AI or events and all that jazz. The devs are coding all of it into the engine logic, just like AI is hardcoded into A3. Is the engine the best for dayz? If it was no developers would strive to make a better one. Everything which would make the CORE of the game is top priority. Not balance, or items, or zeds. CORE means player to game world interaction. Imagine if zeds were perfect, but players couldn't hold items. Or couldn't holster weapons properly. Or even punch. The core of the game was about 50% when given to players. Netcode takes very close passenger seat to this cause in a reality with in-house alpha testers it would be closer toward end of production. After most core features are finished and optimized then we will start to see the cool stuff programers can manipulate the engine into doing. Considering what the programmers have currently done, I think we are in for some very cool features in the future. The dev team has been pretty fair at keeping the game growing in-between core updates. Physics soon being the next big one with survival, food, guns, melee weapons, bow and arrows, loot respawns, and new culling optimization is a perfect example of this. More then half of those features are completely unneeded for the short term development, yet the team wants to also keep things interesting for us Alpha testers. Anytime a player rages and quits cause of their ignorance, they are doing nothing but hindering progress. BI could have received tons of useful data just from that one person playing.

I dont understand why there is no AUTO RUN KEY!!!

As amazing and hilarious as that would be -
and only because one man survived. They used to put in enough cyanide to kill two men.

I agree with machetes. A huge letdown right now. hopefully they will get a nice animation too. Compasses. Using the sun as reference, I thought I didn't need them until I veered off the path during a thunderstorm.

Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)
gorvi replied to SmashT's topic in General Discussion
The initial clause screen doesn't do enough. DayZ needs a little training mission before players can enter servers. Make it the most broken obstacle course with giant signs plastered all over saying "Alpha." Maybe an instructor who constantly reminds the player what an alpha is. -
Backpacks and clothes + other containers should spawn with a chance of loot.
gorvi replied to franzuu's topic in Suggestions
Yes. Yes they should. A slight chance. -
Any stats will be mostly hidden, and work on a skill-up system. Nothing should be carried over between deaths beside characteristics. Player metagaming already undermines DayZ.

I would like to see functioning hud overlays for most headwear. Nothing crazy. Project Nevada for fallout does it very tastefully. Especially for sunglasses.
-
designer shades dont clip into my Asian lady's face though. I usually pass on down jackets and canvas pants. Until environment has more of an effect or inventory balance, I cant justify the low slot clothing.

ever since snowdrip has been getting more attention then the game using it, lets hate RV engine posts have been rampant. Its like frostbought engine all over again, and we all know how well that went :/
